Amazingly fresh, delicious, and healthy vegetarian food. The owner is very warm welcoming and friendly. He offered a different pickle made of radish and onions since traditional kimchi is not always vegetarian friendly. We loved the pickle and he was generous to offer multiple refills of the pickle. My 9 year old can sometimes be a picky eater and he gulped down all his food!! A must visit if you want are craving Asian food and are a vegetarian. We will definitely visit this little place every time we are in Maui. read more

This is becoming one of my favorite local places. I discovered Jeon for the first time and I keep coming back for more. I am coming back again to try more of the menu. There were dishes, brought out to other customers that looked so good. It's a small place and food is made to order. So don't expect your food out in a hurry. The owner is very proud of his food and was happy to explain the menu to me. They do takeout so order ahead if you're on a short lunch break. read more

This place is a hidden gem and I'm so glad I finally remembered about this place. They offer authentic Korean food from bibimbap with different proteins, tokbokki, japchae just to name a few. Portions are good enough to share amongst 2 people. Tokbokki was very spicy but so good! I got it as a combo that came with fried seaweed rolls. The spicy pork bibimbap was very good too (wish I got bulgogi instead so I could taste everything besides spiciness). Chow fun was okay but wouldn't order again. I also tired the veggie pancake, I think it was a special they offered so it's not on their menu. You order at the counter and they will bring your food out to you. It's a small eating area but it wasn't busy when we dined in. I will definitely be returning. read more

Open for dine-in, last call is at 6pm. Just need your vax card to dine-in is all. Ordered spicy chicken, tteokbokki with gochujang, veggie kimbap and spicy chicken bibimbap, egg over hard, side of kimchi and 6 purple corn teas. The purple Woongjin corn tea is so refreshing. The veggie kimbap is colorful and pretty and yummy too. Doesn't even need any sriracha, then again they likely don't have it either. The spicy chicken bibimbap is good. The spicy chicken is super flavorful, maybe too intensely so too. The bibimbap has a good blend and balance of veggies too. Spinach, carrots, red cabbage, radishes, zucchini, mushrooms and bean sprouts. My only complaint is that the mushrooms are the dried shiitake rehydrated and they are too rubbery to me. The spicy chicken is decent. The spicy chicken is a tad fatty. Ordered 4 purple corn tea to go and a side of kimchi too. It's weird to eat Korean food without kimchi. The side of kimchi is okay, a bit more mature and ripe than I would like, but decent flavors. The tteokbokki is spicy, nice flavors and not badly done here. The kimbap and the tteokbokki are two of the best items ordered here. The purple corn tea is highly marked up at $5 a pop here, we pay $1.99-$2.99 at H Mart back at home or even a small Korean market back at home. read more

I really like this Korean restaurant. It's delicious. My recommendations are the bulgogi bibimbap and the spicy chicken.

Loved the food!! Authentic Korean food made by sweet ladies, and the service was incredible she came to chat with us after about our stay. The place is a little hidden with quaint ambiance. The garlic tofu was SO good and veges perfectly stir fried. Bulgogi bibimbap was amazing and so fresh! Mac salad was some of my fav. Come support this local business and fill up the place read more

I had this place bookmarked for a little while now...today we decided to try someplace new. We are so glad we did, it's in a a strip mall off of Lipoa in Kihei. It's a small place that had lots of to go orders going out. We sat in to dine, not a lot of tables available, but we came in around 1:45 so not too busy. We ordered bbq chicken bibimbop, char siu pork chow fun, & spicy Pork plate. Everything was delicious!! We will be coming back for sure. read more

I love Cafe Moon - BEST Authentic Korean Foods in Maui Hawaii and in the mainland US so far. Two Korean Chefs / Owners are excellent cook and "Food Designer"! It's delicious and great service! Their taste, quality, artistic food design, cleanliness, and creativity of each dish are beyond the 5 star hotel chefs. I came almost everyday during my vacation in South Kihei. My Korean Taxi, Liana highly recommended. My Orders for different days: Kimchi Soup Soondubu Jjigae (Spicy Soft Tofu Soup) Served with a scoop of rice and Kimchi! Kimbap - Korean Sushi Roll - So Generous Portion. Never saw like this quality anywhere. Vegetarian Korean Jeon Pancake - Very popular and authentic Korean style Vegetarian Bibimbap with Gochujang Sauce! WOW!! Abundant Bowl - Garden Heaven & Earth. Love every bit! After eating BibimBap, I saw the skin complexion became radiant (like Korean people). They really use the fresh ingredients. Homemade Kimchi is fresh, rich and tasty. I went to other restaurant the other day. My skin broke out afterwards!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR YUMMY FOODS TO THE WORLD! Still dreaming! Look out for Daily Special! They bring more excitement of new dishes! Lots of Korean visitors from California and other states came here and said to the Chefs that they wish that Cafe Moon is on the mainland near their homes as they did not find Best Authentic Korean Flavor like here! BRAVO!! Two chefs are doing everything with excellency! They are Super-humans! So happy to be here! Kathy read more

Cafe Moon - Menu - Korean Near Me - Kihei, Hawaii

If you love Korean food, this is the place to go!!!! This is so long over due. We have been here so many times and just writing this review makes me wanna go here for dinner. Their meat jeon is SO soft, not fatty, it's so delicious. They also have bulgogi jeon and the first time I ordered this I thought it might be the same thing but ITS NOT!! The bulgogi jeon has vegetables and is almost like a Korean type of okonomiyake. It's so good. And here's a good tip - if you don't finish it all, put it in your air fryer and you'll have the best left overs!!!!! The Kim jeon is similar to the bulgogi jeon and is also an excellent choice. We also love the sesame garlic tofu! If you're lucky, they might have mandoo when you go. We have only gotten mandoo twice so far and it's huge! Full of meat and lots of yumminess, they do not skimp on anything here. Everything we have tried here has been excellent but I love their jeons the best. If you're a Korean food lover like me (and you like spicy!), this is a definite place to check out on Maui!! read more

Incredible Korean food! Super authentic and a very kind team. Compared to all of the incredibly expensive / small portions we ate on our trip the dishes were large and reasonably priced. The kimbap and the jeon were delicious. We so enjoyed our meal and we will be back next time we visit Maui!! read more

The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable, so if you are price conscious then this is a good stop for you. Also, if you aren't particularly hungry then a single entree could possibly suffice for two people. For our order, we got the soondobu and the bibimbap. The soondobu has about a medium spiciness level, so be aware of this before you order (in case you usually order mild). Overall, the dish was mediocre. The broth had a bit too many spices (not related to the spiciness) but perhaps needed a bit more salt. The broth wasn't as simple and smooth as you would experience at other Korean restaurants. They also weren't particularly liberal with the seafood. The bibimbap was top notch and is definitely worth a try. The arugula and spinach were great additions. The rice was made well and wasn't too crunchy (like some other restaurants). The beef was also tasty and wasn't too salty. read more

Got the bibimbap and it was 10/10. Also the workers are very fun. Highly recommended if you live here or are just visiting

Easily some of the best Korean food I've had period (whether on the islands or the mainland). It was so tasty our family had to come back the next day for lunch... and we're half Korean. We tried most of the dishes and all were delicious. Service and hospitality were very warm in this family-run establishment. Don't let the strip mall location turn you off. Cafe Moon is a hit! read more

We came to Maui for vacation and my husband was craving meat Jun (thin sliced meat coated in egg- delicious). We yelped Korean food and found this Jem. We ordered one order for my husband and my kids tried it and wanted their own so we went inside and ordered more along with another dish and everything was delicious. The owners were so nice and sincere and shared they have been in Maui for a year. We come to hawaii often so we will be back! read more

Well, it's a year later and we were so excited to go back to Cafe Moon today. The owner surprisingly remembered us from last year which was sweet. Again we ordered lots of veggie options (too much on purpose) so we'd have leftovers for the week. The small restaurant was packed with people and more kept coming, plus the take out orders. Yikes....they really need to hire another person to help so the customers don't have to wait so long for their dishes. Also, there is definitely space for another table or two as only 14 people can sit with the current configuration. We loved the flavors of the dishes we got today; the portions were very ample however EVERYTHING was swimming in oil. WAY TOO MUCH oil used in the japchee, jeon and the daily special seaweed spring rolls. Other than that, we adore this gem of a restaurant. read more

The restaurant had a really terrible smell- almost like backed up sewage. Honestly not the biggest fan of the bibimbop here. The gyozas were OK also. Maybe we had higher expectations because the person who recommended this place really talked it up after saying he had been to Korea 3x- but honestly I've had better at our local Korean restaurant in Michigan. read more

I have been craving good korean food ever since I moved here from California. Being full korean and raised on korean food, I know what good korean food is and this place has some good korean food. My bf and I got there at 510pm and there was only 1 person sitting in the corner of this small 15 seat restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we were promptly greeted and given a few minutes to look over the menu. I was totally excited for some korean food so we ordered a lot. We tried the korean bbq chicken, spicy squid plate, seafood jeon, and bulgogi bibimbap. We seated ourselves and within a few minutes our food started coming out. Everything we ordered had good flavor, good size portions, good prices and good customer service. By the time we left at 545pm the small restaurant was full. We will definitely be back. read more

Located in the Lipoa Center, Local/Korean food has finally made it's way to Kihei! My mom had heard about this place from a few people, so she stopped by to grab a couple things. Got the kimbop & chow fun. The chow fun was on the sweeter side. It had char siu & I think ground pork in it. I thought it had great flavor, even though I am more of a savory fan. The bulgogi kimbop was also very tasty filled with a wide array of veggies. Pricing did seem a bit high, but the portion size was generous. The kimbop could've been a meal in itself. Please keep these guys around, we need this type of food on this side! Will have to let my coworkers know as there aren't that many places to eat in our area. read more

This restaurant is located in a shopping center with ample parking. The restaurant does not have a bathroom, but the bathroom is located a few doors down. It is simply decorated with a few table and chairs. After many nights of fine dining, some of which were very disappointing, Cafe Moon was a breath of fresh air. My family ordered to share, beef bulgogi bibimbap, seafood jeon ( seafood pancake) and pork soondubo jjigae (pork tofu stew). Everything was very good and perfectly seasoned. Sadly I only remembered to take a pick of the bibimbap. The owners were very nice and I highly recommend giving this place a try. Next time I'm in Maui I will forgo most of the fine dining restaurants and come here instead. read more

Cafe Moon - Bulgogi bibimbap - 5/5 Make sure to add the sauce and mix well. Yum yum! - Korean Near Me - Kihei, Hawaii

After having poke nearly every meal, my friends and I decided to get some Korean food near our Airbnb. The restaurant is super small, with just a couple tables. Fortunately, there was no line and no problem finding a table. We ordered up front and sat down to wait for our food. The only drawback was that we had to wait quite awhile for our meals. I ordered the soondubu jigae. It was probably one of the best I've ever had. The jigae had a lot of seafood in it and the soup was rich with flavor. My friends ordered the cold noodles and loved it as well. read more

Definitely a gem in the mostly empty shopping plaza it resides in. At the time of my visit (9/2021), dine in was available although there aren't many tables to sit at. We opted for take out for this reason! Items we ordered (as of 9/2021). - Bulgogi Kimbap - $13 - This was really good (especially considering all the work that goes into making it! The bulgogi was delicious and paired well with the crunchy vegetables it was wrapped with! - Spicy Pork Bibimbap - $17 - Also very tasty with a very reasonable spice level (won't leave your mouth on fire). I would recommend this dish! - Spicy Tokbokki - $15 - For spicy lovers this will be your dish. Comes in a boiling red hot sauce (seriously looks like lava) that will satiate all spicy food lovers out there. It was way beyond my spice tolerance but the missus really loved it. - Char Sui & Ground Chow Fun - $16 - This was intriguing to me but unfortunately was the most mediocre of what we ordered. It wasn't bad per say just nothing spectacular. The char sui was rather meh. I would stick to the Korean cuisine. Overall the prices are pretty good for the area and if you enjoy Korean food I would definitely give this place a try! read more

I'm speechless! The food here is absolutely amazing. The Gyozas and the sauce (perfection). The Bulgogi (perfection)... My most recent craving and food addiction is their Spicy Chicken (I'd say perfection again but it's more than that), it's hands down one of the best chicken dishes on island. If I say it's nearly too good to be true, you have to go try it for yourself so you believe me. I don't lie about these things. Good food is important to me and my family.
