I have been here several times and the food is always fresh and good. I have tried almost everything on the menu and have not been disappointed. You really do get your moneys worth with these guys. I like the fact that you can choose different sides. If you're really hungry get a regular plate or a combo. I have a pretty good appetite and I can usually get two or three meals from one combo plate. My usual go to is the bbq beef or the bbq chicken. But the short ribs are ono (good) just messy so it depends if I eating on the road or going home. The chicken katsu is winner. I mean I can keep going but I think you get the idea. As for the sides it just depends on my mood. I almost always get the Kim Chee, I love the potatoes both the teriyaki and mayo are soooooo good. But these days gotta watch the carbs. Tryna watch my figure ! lol. But the sea weed , salad they all good just your personal preference. I also like that the food is prepared fresh and the price especially in this economy is one of the best on the island. I have no complaints about the service as the ladies are always friendly and nice. They have been in the food business for a long time so they know what they doing like a finely tuned machine. As far as the ambiance well it's a food court I mean I have seen worse. Actually I feel like this is one of the cleaner and nicer places around. Lots of food for the price only down fall is the Choi sum they will only allow you one side for entire order. Our entire family enjoys that side but only one person in our order can get that. So we don't order often because not everyone will get that when we order. read more

Meat Jun is my favorite. So the second I saw it on the menu I wanted that. I got it as a combo with chicken and shared with my sister. Afterwards, I saw a sign that showed all their meat jun combos and there's also fish, so I gotta come back one day. I let my sister choose sides, she got Mayo potato, japchae, Seaweed (my favorite) and daikon kimchi. All good. The meat portion was humongous, two of us did not finish in one sitting. Food is the best, I have tried everything in their menu and I love all of them! Tonight I had Yukgaejang or spicy beef soup. It is a spicy, soup-like Korean dish made from shredded beef with scallions and other ingredients, It is a variety of gomguk, or thick soup, the flavor is just on point! And they also provide 4 side dishes of your choice and 2 scoop of rice. Service is great, from the start to end, ask me if I needed extra utensils and told me to enjoy my meal. Just nice all around. It is a food court so it isn't quite , but not as bad, I do go when it isn't busy, that's after 7:00pm so it isn't as crowded. I also do take it out and eat at home. read more

June 12,2023 - Monday Located in Kau Kau Market which is in the shopping center where Old Navy, Starbucks & Jollie bees is located. It's a small food court spot with many different food businesses to choose from w/many seating options. It wasn't too crowded and they have a section with maps/brochures of the island for activities along with restrooms. We came to this food court for another business but I've been looking for a Korean spot on Maui since we moved here. As I look around - I seen Meat Jun on the menu & I was sold. Lol The more the looked around I seen the many sides they offer and I was thinking ok I'm ordering here. This Korean bbq is one of Mauis best eateries! I've lived on Maui for years and never thought to come check out the food at Maui Mall. It's super clean inside and comfortable. The food serving is huge and everything was fresh and delicious. I loved trying out the sides. I got kimchi daikon, kimchi cucumbers and glass noodles. I can't stress this enough, it's super good!! Their regular plates come with 4 choices of sides/ ban chan and their mini comes with 2 choices. A regular plate can easily feed more than 1 person so can their mini plate. I can only finish a mini plate if I'm super hungry. LOCATION : Located off of Dairy Road at the Kaukau Market at the Maui Mall Marketplace. There is a lot of parking and especially now that there is no longer Sports Authority next to it. It shares their Kaukau Market food court with Bale, L&L and Fernandos. I like it because you dont have to hunt for parking like when you go to the Pearl's at Queen Ka'ahumanu Center. SERVICE: Always great. Like many places it is always best to call in your order ahead of time especially during lunch or dinner time. OVERALL: Great portions, great customer service and great location. Wow, what a gem! It's a bit embarrassing that we came back here four times in the course of one week, but with such delicious, quick food in a convenient location (right next to the airport) and really good prices, how could we resist? It's located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Style is fast take-out. Menu is on the board with a lot of accompanying pictures. I kept revisiting the Won's special and tofu soup and also did have the beef bowl one of the days. The Won's special is an amazing deal, piled high with food which includes grilled gal-bi, chicken, and beef. This comes with 3-4 sides, rice, a fried dumpling and a tempura vegetable. The sear/grill flavor on the meat is very tasty and fragrant, yum and the sides are all good from kimchi to pickled daikon and cucumber to cheesy potatoes. Of note, japchae seems to run out fast, so if you come close to closing, it is no longer an option usually. Tofu soup was also tasty and a great winner; huge portions with full flavor and strips of stewed meat. You wouldn't think of visiting a Korean place in Maui, but this beats out so many places I've been to throughout the United States. read more

It's ground level and easily accessible for those with disabilities or needing wheelchair assistance. My favorites have always been the chicken katsu curry and BBQ beef (bulgogi) plates. Recently, I branched out and tried their Tofu Soup. Highly recommend it! Flavorful broth, generously portioned tender meat, veggies, and quality tofu. I was working at a credit union yesterday, when I decided to break off for lunch, and since the Kau Kau Corner food court was just next door from where I was working, I decided to pop on into the food court & finish up my eating quest of eating at every single food joint in this food court! Now don't get me wrong..........the Kau Kau Corner food court is not a very large food court, and I believe there are just (4) food businesses in this food court - 1. L&L Drive Inn (Chinese/ Local Plate Lunch) 2. BaLe (Vietnamese) 3. Fernando's (Mexican) 4. Pearl's Korean BBQ (Korean) So far I've eaten at 3 out of the 4 businesses, with BaLe left on my radar! Lol! What can I say about Pearl's? Simple menu posted on the wall, just walk up to the ordering counter & place your food order, when your food is ready they will call you to pick up, then just look for an open table in the food court to eat your food. For yesterday's lunch, I went with a mini Fish Jun plate...........no rice, just got some of their ban chan items of - kim chee (gotta have that!), cucumber, & long rice. What can I say about the grub? The Fish Jun was made to order, so when you get your food, it was piping hot! With the fish jun, you get two types of sauces.......one that was shoyu based, and the other was a hot sauce. I think I liked the hot sauce for my fish jun a little better. The ban chan items were excellent! Serving size of the ban chan items were quite generous! Kalbi Na BbQ chicken is a must its yummy, especially with kimchee on the side. They are fast takin orders, and maybe the wait to prep is about 15min. Prices are going up. I'm not gonna lie about that, so I think it's time to add extra meat on the plate lunches. This place can get loud, so if you just want peace while eating, it's better to take it home. The powers that be merged my review of this brand new location to the old one, so here you go, again. Part deux! Banking off of the success of their first location at Queen Kaahumanu Center's food court, Pearl's (the same company as Yummy Korean BBQ) has opened up a second location in Maui Marketplace's 4-stall Kau Kau Market food court in the space previously occupied by short-lived Beach Bums Express. This spot has always been either vacant or turning over, but I'm pretty sure Pearl's is here to stay. MENU: Chicken, short ribs, pork, noodles, soups, banchan. FOOD: Chicken Katsu - $11.99. While this is far from being a Korean dish, it's what I was craving. The two slabs of chicken were breaded and deep-fried to a golden brown, and laid out on 2 scoops of steamed white rice. You can choose 4 banchan sides, in which I got mac salad x2, bean sprouts, and potato mayo. Their katsu sauce is too sweet, which is why I always do takeout so I can use my Kagome-brand sauce from home lol. Man Doo Kook Soo - $8.99. This is a Korean version of ramen but was anything but. The rice noodles were a bit overcooked and didn't have any chewiness to it. I like them as a somen dish but not as a noodle soup. The broth was clear, very subtle in flavor, and tasted similar to egg drop soup. The bowl was topped with 4 good-sized pieces of soft mandoo with a tasty pork filling, egg washed shredded pork, and cooked white & green onions. Temperature was hot but not searing. Better than pho but it'd never dethrone a ramen in my world, lol. SERVICE: The workers were welcoming and friendly. I got my order in about 10 minutes. TIP: Apple Pay was accepted even though the worker didn't know, but now she does! OVERALL: The wisest business decision I've seen by a local company so far! They'll do well here. read more

This place is in a food court in a mall close to the airport. We came here right after we landed in Maui, so convenient if you are looking for a place next to the airport. There is no seating due to COVID, so we took our food to Maui Mall and ate it in their outdoor seating area. I ordered seaweed soup and it was legit. The soup was super hot when I got it so stayed warm through the meal, which was nice. They give you 4 sides (banchans) of generous portions. I had 2 servings of kimchee, and a side of seasoned cucumbers and mung bean sprouts. They also give you 2 scoops of rice. One scoop was plenty for me so we had one scoop of rice and a lot of sides leftover which I brought back to the timeshare so I can cook kimchee fried rice the next day. Heehee. After driving around Makawao, we were craving Korean food and decided to try this place on the way back to Lahaina. We ended up ordering a meat jun and chicken combo and 2 kalbi and chicken combos. I think it's safe to say that the meat jun and chicken were our faves, but the vegetables were also delicious. I'm so used to places giving you small portions, but this placed surprised us--we couldn't believe how heavy each take out container was! I had a craving for some fish jun and kimchee, so to Pearls I went. It's been a while since I've eaten there so I was kind of surprised at how the amount of food changed. Prices have taken a little increase for their combination plates, they have also moved on to the use of non-styrofoam containers. Service was slow which was odd to me because there wasn't a line and I never had any issues with wait times during rush times like lunch. Two orders were ahead of me and I had a longer wait than what I've been through during a rush time. A little disappointed to see that my plate was mostly rice under the fish jun but I really enjoyed my sides. I love their daikon and kimchee. I don't know if I would go out of my way to go to Pearls anymore in regards to portion vs price. However, the food was hot and the outer egg on the edges of the fish jun were crispy. read more

However, maybe a month or two ago we went there, didn't know it was now "Won's Korean BBQ" because everything appeared to be the same, except for the food.
