    meat jun + mandoo plate
    Ro Ann V.

Pictured is the classic meat jun and mandoo plate. Won's Korean BBQ offers fast casual Korean food and it is one of the best on Maui. Won's is one of my go-to spots when I don't want to cook dinner at home and when I am craving some banchan (small side dishes). Won's offers a variety of banchan, my favorites are the shoyu potato, Mac salad, pasta salad, and Kimchee. Now let me tell you about the kimchee... it's amazing! The perfect mix of spice, crunch, and flavor. As for the portions of food, they do not skimp out on you. You are able to feed 2 people with one combo plate. Lastly, the service is fast and the business is adding a lot of accessible ways to order in (walk-in orders, phone orders, and online orders). Won's is a quick fast casual eatery that is beloved on central Maui.

Holy 5 pound plate! We always get B/C beef and chicken combo that comes with 4 sides and 1 mandoo And 1 veg tempura. I loooooove the mayo potatoes and kimchi for my sides i get double of both!

Meat Jun is my favorite. So the second I saw it on the menu I wanted that. I got it as a combo with chicken and shared with my sister. Afterwards, I saw a sign that showed all their meat jun combos and there's also fish, so I gotta come back one day. I let my sister choose sides, she got Mayo potato, japchae, Seaweed (my favorite) and daikon kimchi. All good. The meat portion was humongous, two of us did not finish in one sitting. The chicken was basic but meat yum. I can't think of anywhere I can get meat jun to be honest. It's not paper thin either. Will be back if we're on the area for sure.

Bomb every time!!! The mini plate is definitely big enough, and I love that I can switch up my sides

The beef Bulgogi and bibimbap was delicious. The service was great. The food come out hot from the grill. The ambiance a food court restaurant. Plenty of parking.

June 12,2023 - Monday Located in Kau Kau Market which is in the shopping center where Old Navy, Starbucks & Jollie bees is located. It's a small food court spot with many different food businesses to choose from w/many seating options. It wasn't too crowded and they have a section with maps/brochures of the island for activities along with restrooms. We came to this food court for another business but I've been looking for a Korean spot on Maui since we moved here. As I look around - I seen Meat Jun on the menu & I was sold. Lol The more the looked around I seen the many sides they offer and I was thinking ok I'm ordering here. OUR ORDER Reg Meat Jun & Katsu Plate -2 scoop Mac -cucumber kim Chee -Daikon kim Chee Reg Fish Jun Plate -2x Chop Chae -Seaweed -Garlic Potato Lady who took our order was friendly - they really load the plate which is always a WIN *snap snap* everything was ONO ! We're definitely coming back to this spot again.

This Korean bbq is one of Mauis best eateries! I've lived on Maui for years and never thought to come check out the food at Maui Mall. It's super clean inside and comfortable. The food serving is huge and everything was fresh and delicious. I loved trying out the sides. I got kimchi daikon, kimchi cucumbers and glass noodles. I can't stress this enough, it's super good!! The bbq chicken was fresh off the grill and the kalbi was a very generous portion. You must try it out! 10/10

11/18/19 MINI bbq chicken plate with mandoo
    Tris W.

Pearl's never disappoints. My favorites include their meat jun/fish jun combo, bbq chicken and their kalbi. Their regular plates come with 4 choices of sides/ ban chan and their mini comes with 2 choices. A regular plate can easily feed more than 1 person so can their mini plate. I can only finish a mini plate if I'm super hungry. LOCATION : Located off of Dairy Road at the Kaukau Market at the Maui Mall Marketplace. There is a lot of parking and especially now that there is no longer Sports Authority next to it. It shares their Kaukau Market food court with Bale, L&L and Fernandos. I like it because you dont have to hunt for parking like when you go to the Pearl's at Queen Ka'ahumanu Center. SERVICE: Always great. Like many places it is always best to call in your order ahead of time especially during lunch or dinner time. OVERALL: Great portions, great customer service and great location. Check it out!

Excellent location, especially if you don't want to deal with the hassle of finding parking at Queen Kaahumanu Mall and going upstairs to pick up take out from the food court. It's ground level and easily accessible for those with disabilities or needing wheelchair assistance. My favorites have always been the chicken katsu curry and BBQ beef (bulgogi) plates. Recently, I branched out and tried their Tofu Soup. Highly recommend it! Flavorful broth, generously portioned tender meat, veggies, and quality tofu. Great for if you're sick or just want a hearty soup for dinner. Overall, my favorite location to go to, but as a chain they never disappoint.

It's definitely on the pricier side but there is literally no other soon tofu soup options so it's still cheaper than flying off island when a craving hits. The service was great! Aunty was literally like one of my my aunties. We showed up at 12p with a reservation but there were only 2 other parties but it was also a Monday so it worked out. The food was very tasty. Never tried cold noodle soup but that tricked my mind like crazy. The broth looked clear and flavorless but it was so delicious. I really enjoyed that with the chewy noodles. The La Kalbi made me see the birth of the universe. That thing was ridiculous. I'm still dreaming about it. I've never had Kalbi so soft and disintegrated before even chewing. We also tried the vegetable stir-fry with shrimp because my wife wanted to balance out all the meats but I'm not a vegetable guy. It was still tasty. The reason for coming was to try the tofu soup but we didn't even try that so we'll have to come back. I wanted to knock the rating down for pricing but I can choose whether I go here or not and I know the cost of doing business is crazy especially hawaii. overall, we had a great experience and the leftovers fed us for 2.5 days after our visit.

The menu offers all the familiar Korean comfort foods so we ordered soft tofu soup (there's seafood in it), kimchi pancake, meat jun and bulgogi with jap chae. Our friendly waitress brought our orders out in stages to keep the table from overcrowding. The kimchi pancake was easily my favorite with its crispy edges but softer center, served like a pizza in wedge slices. My dining companions devoured the meat dishes and we all slurped the spicy soondobu with spoonfuls of rice to cool it down. Note our table of four shared the three bowls of rice that came with the dishes but if you want more, you need to order the extra. The delicious meal concluded with a carafe of cold barley tea, which one person in our group commented that it tasted like coffee. Free parking in a covered lot, just note it can be dark in the evening so bring a flashlight. Hard to miss the neon sign for the restaurant, it's wow good!

We had a party of 9 so I wanted to make a reservation ahead of time, but no one answered the phone. I ended up going in to make a reservation. Parking is located in back of the restaurant. We parked in a space marked Hemi's because that used to be the name of the business. They use portable, electric grills instead of the built-in gas grills usually used in KBBQ restaurants. The electric grills don't smoke as much as the gas grills. Many of the items on their menu are pre-cooked. The only thing we ordered that we cooked on the beef brisket. It was one or two workers running back and forth to fulfill all the orders. One of the auntie's at the restaurant advised us to just take a seat anywhere and that's what we did. The chairs are a bit high, so we weren't seen right away, but once they saw us they got us a menu, water and asked us what we wanted. We chose from the menu: soondubu, kimchi jeon, and kalbi (which we didn't get but I'm sure they were overwhelmed and didn't notice since there was a big party). Just by observing the place and the orders placed by the bigger party, if you look around the restaurant there are other food items that you can order. We didn't know and just stuck to the menu, lol but a note for next time! Again, the seats are very high so we were waiting for our food for quite a while. But once they noticed that we didn't have our food, they apologized and got our food right away! First came the banchans, I really enjoyed them! My favorite was the fishcake and radish kimchi. Kimchi pancake had other vegetables mixed in, not just kimchi. I wasn't expecting the other veggies, but it was good nonetheless. Then the grill and meats came. It is a portable grill and each table has an extension cord to plug the grills in. Once the uncle came to our table, he got us started with the grill and meats and cooked for us a bit! The attentiveness and effort was there and we really appreciated that. We then got our soondubu. It was very warm, refreshing and not too spicy. Our once empty table was now filled with banchans, sauces, meats, and lettuce! Once all our food came, the nice auntie came over and apologized again for the long wait for our food. She had said she would give us the kimchi jeon as a "service" which kinda means "it's on the house" as an apology. We understood the busyness with the restaurant and short staffed workers, but we're grateful for the effort and attention they had once they realized. Overall we enjoyed our experience here at O BBQ! We left full and satisfied, but not over bloated! I know Oahu has all you can eat KBBQ, but all you need is some good food, good meats and good company to enjoy KBBQ on Maui! We are glad we chose to dine in and try this new spot on Maui. We'll be coming back again!

Umi combines modern local dishes with Japanese flavors, sashimi and sushi rolls. Several dishes utilize the deep fat fryer for textures and depth. We had a good variety: Agedashi Eggplant very crispy and flavorful spices and a dashi sauce that kept its crispness. Calamari Salad and Calamari had crispy tendrils of squid legs with a sauce that tied it together. Panko Breaded Pork Belly served with a thick Katsu Sauce was decadent. Fried Nabeta was entirely edible and very crispy. Large bed of rice, puréed ginger, and a delicate dashi-soy sauce. Truffle Edamame and Sushi rolls were good. Tuna bolognese with spaghetti in a light tomato sauce. Oyster shooters had a good proportion of spiciness with a raw oyster. The special Modern Sushi brought 5 Goteburg Sausage Rolls, an inverted Musubi with salty fried sausage encasing rice. Many folks bring coolers of beer or wine to complement the food. I did a search on Instagram and came across this business Ohana Karaoke Cafe & Grill, for Korean foods. She was super friendly, usually at the restaurants here on Koreamouku, I have to be extra nice so they can be more friendlier. *note, no complimentary water here at all, you can bring your own or purchase the water here. So the verdict and I ask the other half, so Mr. Meat Jun Snob what is the ratings, he said "7/10 and the fish jun makes up for it". hehe.
