This place has been on my radar to try ever since it opened. It's located in the Azeka Marketplace near Nalu's and it's sister restaurant Nutcharee's Authentic Thai. There is plenty of parking. The restaurant has an open kitchen design with 8 seats at the bar, seven 4-person tables and one 8-person table. We ordered the char siu & crispy pork belly plate and special pho. The flavor of the pho was really good! The noodles and meat made the pho better than Bale. The crispy pork was really crispy, just the way I like it. The char siu was good too, not too much fat. The portions are big so come hungry!

Great pho spot! Place is clean and service is polite and fast. I got the boat noodle soup and it did not disappoint! Loaded with meat and flavorful broth! Keep in mind though. They are closed on Tuesdays and the chili sauce is really hot!

We decided to try this new restaurant by Nalu's and because they serve Roast Duck. I love most duck dishes and the picture looked good. First of all I liked the Roast Duck but the skin was soft. I wish the skin was crispy or at least not as soft as it was. Also there were only 3 slices of cucumber on the dish. I was hoping for more since there were no other vegetables other than the pickled ginger which was delicious. The picture on the add showed more slices. My husband ordered the Boat Noodles with rice noodles. He said it had good flavor. It was served with five condiments along with basil and bean sprouts to customize it for your preference. The serve staff was friendly and gave great service. We will definitely come back to try other dishes.

If you haven't been to Noodles and Rice, you're seriously missing out. This place is everything I want in a restaurant -- cozy, welcoming atmosphere, insanely good food, and the kind of chef-driven quality that keeps you thinking about your meal days later. Right when you walk in, you can feel the warmth -- not just from the kitchen, but from the staff and the vibe. It's casual, friendly, and feels like you've been invited into someone's home. Let's talk food: this is Thai/Vietnamese fusion done right. The chef clearly knows what she's doing -- every dish feels crafted with care and experience. The broth? Deep, flavorful, absolutely soul-soothing. The saté and roast BBQ pork are hands-down some of the best I've had -- tender, rich, and perfectly seasoned. It's that rare mix of savory, spicy, and comforting that just hits all the right notes. Out of seven meals I've had out this week, this was the only one I actually finished -- and I mean cleaned the bowl. The portion size is perfect: generous but not overwhelming, and the prices are more than fair for the quality you're getting. Bottom line: Noodles and Rice is the kind of place you want to keep to yourself but can't stop raving about. I'll be back -- probably tomorrow. I totally forgot to take a pic of the duck leg soup with all that good umami in there at first taste. Sorrrrryyyy. P.S. we both got the egg noodles. Worked perfectly for both dishes.

The traditional tom yum noodles is the way to go. It's been weeks and I'm still dreaming of how delicious the bowl of tom yum noodles was. I've had a lot of tom yum before and this was honestly at the top of my list. The restaurant is located in a big plaza in Kihei with plenty of parking. It has an unassuming name and storefront but when you step inside, it's newly renovated, clean, and modern. The service was very quick and friendly. The restaurant is great for a casual or slightly elevated lunch/dinner for small and/or large groups.

    Coconut ice cream with lumpia

Went here for the first time today for lunch on a Sunday. We got in around 12:30 and they weren't super busy yet. Lots of tables and clean and inviting space near their sister restaurant Nutcharee's Authentic Thai. We noted you can see the kitchen as they're cooking your food and there are also wall outlets if you need to charge a device. Hostess/server was very friendly and the owner greeted us also and told us the specials for the day. We tried the edamame, crab Rangoon, oxtail soup with egg noodle, Vietnamese special pho, and the coconut ice cream. The edamame has a very delicious sauce on the outside that give it more flavor than just the normal sea salt I'm used to. Very good! The crab Rangoon order is a little small with only four pieces but the Rangoons are very delicious and have high quality seafood filling inside that is far more flavorful than your typical Rangoon. Not so heavy on the cream cheese. The egg noodles in the oxtail soup are almost more like standard ramen noodles, FYI. Came with several large bone in pieces of oxtail. I had the Vietnamese special pho. Very solid pho and has three kinds of meat (meat ball, sliced steak with a fatty edge, and then a thin steak more like shabu shabu meat). All soups come with sprouts, basil, lime, dish of housemade sriracha/hoisin. Also served with chili paste (very spicy). Very flavorful broth and exactly what most pho lovers will enjoy. The coconut ice cream with lumpia was very delicious. Had some honey and I believe peanut pieces on top. Lumpia are small almost straw size but a nice crispy compliment. Ice cream super flavorful and rich. We spent around $110 with three bowls of soup, two appetizers and a desert that we shared. None of us left feeling hungry (we were all stuffed!) and we didn't have enough leftovers to warrant taking in a box. Just the right amount of food. Friendly service. Would highly recommend trying it out if you like noodle soups and enjoy the food at Nutcharee's Thai. It is on par with that in terms of quality and will not disappoint. Aloha!

Singapore noodles had shrimp and mushrooms. Use the fair amount of chop Chinese spy five spice for an authentic flavor

These are hard-working people using classic Vietnamese and Thai recipes to provide you food in a casual sit down restaurant. Portion sizes are fair service was good and I thought the green curry spaghetti I had was tasty. We had the Vietnamese lettuce wraps, and they only gave us three pieces of lettuce which I thought was kind of silly. They have gave us . The Singapore noodles were good The temperature of the noodles could've been a little hotter they seem to have cooled a bit by the time they got to the table, but very satisfactory overall. They both used, unique mushrooms, which I thought made it a little special they had real fermented chili paste for hot sauce, which is a good thing. My server was very present and informative. I would go there again. There's a very popular restaurant down the block and if the line is kind of over there, I'd give this place a try.

    Thai boat noodles

Noodles and Rice is an absolute gem on Maui! We started with the Bahn Xeo, a perfectly crispy and flavorful appetizer that set the tone for an amazing meal. I had the Thai Boat Noodle soup, and I couldn't be happier! It's so hard to find good noodles on Maui let alone Thai boat noodles, and now I don't have to fly to Oahu for my fix--this bowl was rich, bold, and packed with flavor. My fiancé ordered the pho, which was equally delicious, with a broth so savory. And don't get me started on dessert--the banana lumpia with haupia ice cream was incredible! I'm not usually a dessert person, but this is a must-try. If you're looking for authentic flavors and a memorable dining experience, great service (the chef came to check on us) and a nice relaxing atmosphere come try this place out.

This is by far one of our absolute favorite restaurants! The food and the ingredients are incredibly fresh, the chefs are happy & putting good vibes into the food! We are slightly addicted at this point and probably going far too often, it's that good!

    Hainanese chicken with rice
    Carmen S.

I tried this new place in Kihei & so I looked at the pictures & menu. I saw a Hainanese chicken with rice. I called to place an order but before I ordered I asked the lady who answered the phone if it's chicken breast because that's the only kind of chicken I eat. She said it was. I picked it up and went home to eat it for lunch. I opened it and the chicken was fried & the chicken was a thigh not breast. Very disappointed!!! I wasted $20 on lunch I did not eat. Only thing positive is if you're local, they give you a 10% discount. Below on the right is their Hainanese chicken on their Yelp photo and the one on the left & fried is what they gave me.

Rock-hard and barely warm "Crispy Hainanese Chicken" - stay away!
    Clip L.

An utter disappointment - with so many 5-star reviews, I was expecting this new restaurant to be awesome. My friend and I live only two minutes away so we decided to do take-out on a Saturday for lunch. The Singapore Noodles was mediocre in terms of flavor with hardly any meat. The Tiger Shrimp (four shrimps) was a total rip-off for $22 especially when the shrimps were overcooked (hard) and had no flavor. I grew up eating the "Hainan Chicken" dish and thought their "deep fried" Crispy Hainanese Chicken might be an interesting twist - well, not when the checken was *rock-hard* and barely warm!!!! The Charsiu manapua tasted decent with lots of fillings. I could tell they were hand-made because one of the two buns was half the size of the other one... With the prices this restaurant is charging, I would have expected something better than tasteless and overcooked food. The serving sizes were pretty tiny as well. The cashier was friendly but the staff cooking at the back (you can see them as you walk into the restaurant) looked grouchy. The restaurant looked pretty clean. Their website was also a major disaster. It didn't work on Safari and they forced you to create an account in order to just look at their menu. To top it off, they tried to charge 14% of "taxes and fees" for online order without even telling you what "fees" you were being charged for. I simply do not appreciate this kind of shady business practice. With so many new and awesome restaurants/food trucks around, I will never go back to N & R by Nutcharee again.

Pho ga. Hot and savory. All the great topping of basil and sprouts and jalapeño

Clean spacious and friendly and accommodating! Service was prompt and we had a special request that was easily accomplished- one take out short rib curry from Nutcharee sister restaurant and one for in house dining. No problem! Dry noodles and Singapore noodles were the other dishes and they were perfectly seasoned and made to order. They have beer and wine and soft drinks. Great menu variety- something for everyone including vegan options. Must try in kihei!

Special Tomyum with seafood. Variety of seafood, ground pork, crispy wonton chips.

Noodles and Rice by @nutchareesthaifood! Vietnamese crepe. Fresh, light and full of flavor. Nuoc Cham sauce was on point. It was served with butter lettuce, cucumber, mint, cilantro, and 2 1/2 rice paper wraps cut in half, so it was a little like a DIY summer rolls. An overall GREAT appetizer! I would say it could feed 2-3 people as an appetizer. Roasted Duck. Rice was fluffy. Love when restaurants pay attention to their rice! Duck was good, nice flavor, not too oily as some places have there's. Wasn't too sure what the dark sauce was on the side, but the dish worked well without it for my preference. Was served with what I assume was the Haianese chicken broth. Yum! Special Tomyum with seafood. The menu has a chili pepper sign next to it, and the color was red so I thought it was going to be spicy. I love spicy but it wasn't spicy. The tomyum flavor was there. I got it with regular rice noodles, other noodle options were vermicelli or egg noodles. There were strips of calamari, 2 varieties of fish cakes, ground pork, shrimp, mussels, fish ball. The menu didn't state this, but I also had what seamed like 2 pieces of pork and a beef ball. It was delicious! It also came with 2 pieces of fried wonton chips which I enjoyed having a crunch factor in the soup. Was good, but I would have enjoyed a bit more heat. It was an open set up so you can see the chefs preparing your food which I thought was very nice and a bit more inviting and personal! Staff were attentive, came by to take dishes once we were done and very welcoming. Can't wait to try their other dishes!

I was surprised they open at 10 am, but they do. We were promptly given ice water and our orders taken. We ordered mini ramen combo (shoyu) with gyoza and mini pork fried rice...a seperate small order of gyoza and an order of beef curry. The gyoza came out quickly and were pretty good. The gyoza sauce bottle was nearly empty. Had to grab one from another table. For being the opening shift, I would have assumed the night shift would have prepped sauces the night before so none were empty on tables. The mini ramen came next and had a generous portion of noodles, and the noodles were very good. They seem to have changed their noodles. They used to taste more like rice noodles or spaghetti but now they are legit hand made ramen and are very good. Unfortunately, the shoyu broth was pretty bland even if I added soy sauce. Also, the mini ramen only came with one small piece of char siu pork inside...disappointing portion of meat. It took a long time before the beef curry came out. I was surprised it was so long after the ramen. When it came out, the portion size was very large, but mostly rice. Similar to the ramen, we felt that the meat portions were not generous. The curry didn't contain visible onion, but did have potato and large pieces of carrot. Not sure if worth the price since so little beef. They water refills kept coming which was nice. Good service in that regard. The mini pork fried rice was the last item to come out and almost came out as like a dessert timed item. I don't know why the timing of the items coming out was so spread out. Maybe they are short staffed in the kitchen or don't have many cooks yet at 10 am? Overall, the food is decent for what it is. Wish they were more generous with the meat. Also wish the service was a little faster.
