MENU: Vietnamese apps, noodle & rice selections, desserts. FOOD: Crispy Tiger Shrimp (4 pcs.) Sizable, peeled shrimp that needed to be cooked more as they visually and texturally tasted a tad rare. The coating was light and crispy but needed more seasoning as they relied on the included dipping sauce for flavor. Lettuce Wrap Romaine innards provided for the perfect vessel for the ground chicken, though the poultry needed a serious flavor oomph. Special Pho The pictures, especially the dark-hued broth, looked so good, I had to try it. This was my first ever beef pho and it was very disappointing. First off, the broth was not hot, a serious flaw for me. Secondly, the flavor was very subtle. I did enjoy the tender slices of meat, especially the meatballs. I wished my carb overload didn't go to waste, but it did. SERVICE: Greeting was immediate and welcoming. Food delivery was quick. Wait staff were friendly but there was no follow up. Delicious! Everything here is super fresh. We have only made it through a few menu items. Standouts are the Vietnamese crepes and the truly amazing coconut ice cream with banana lumpia dessert. The latter I have regular cravings for. Beau likes the Oxtail Pho and we have our eyes on the Hamachi collar next. What do you do after running a half marathon? Go to lunch of course. I Decide to do Vietnamese in Kihei. After my friend pick me up from the half marathon finish line at The Shops At Ma'alea Harbor parking lot, we decided to talk about what to have for lunch. I was craving pho at the time, and so we decide to take a short drive down south from my Airbnb condo in Kihei. This restaurant was nestled in the shopping center where locals and visitors in Kihei normally go to or their daily essential items and other services in the area. We arrived here around 1:30 PM on a Saturday afternoon. We got lucky to find parking right in front of the restaurant, so that was pretty cool. Maybe it was luck or something, or we probably be the lunch rush or something lol. In either case, we got a good deal and found ourselves in a mostly empty restaurant. Only a couple of tables were being occupied, but everything else was virtually empty on a Saturday afternoon in March 2025. My time here is fairly brief with my friend, spending all about an hour from ordering, heating, and paying the check. The restaurant was nice, small, clean, and decorated beautifully and had a nice simplistic ambiance. I do enjoy a nice and quiet meal and not have a tv or stereo system in the restaurant dictate the ambiance for me. For my experience here, it was a nice experience that made me realize that you can find Vietnamese fare anywhere and Yelp has a wonderful way to find such local businesses. The service here was very nice and friendly. The overall experience here at Noodles and Rice here in Kihei, Maui was definitely a nice treat to have while spending a weekend on Maui. It was present, quiet, definitely simple. It was a nice way to have lunch with the friend who lives on the island. I love the ambience because it was after the lunch rush and definitely a place to have my Vietnamese fix for the day. I had the beef noodle soup with an appetizer, which was the shrimp summer rolls. I always get these because it is refreshing and compliments the beef noodle soup. I also tried to ask for extra vegetables since I love the crunch. It makes while mixing with the soup broth. For the most part, though, it was nice to be here after running 13.1 miles in Kihei earlier that morning. It was nice to be able to see and experience, new places, especially when you've been to multiple times over the course of your lifetime. I will definitely recommend coming here because it is a great place to get wholesome food at reasonable prices. I've never tried their rice place but when you're in a Vietnamese restaurant, you always get the beef noodle soup for sure. The location is great and in the heart of Kihei Maui. And it's close to the beach so once you're done with lunch or dinner, you can hop on over and get your tan on. Noodles and Rice Vietnamese restaurant is located in the heart of Kihei Maui. Its physical address is 1280 S Kihei Road in the Azeka shopping center. The menu is extensive but compacted for your own benefit. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there is plenty of parking because of the fact that they are located inside a large shopping mall. Plenty of parking for anybody and everybody who wants to dine here. we got lucky because we found spots literally in front of the restaurant. Best bet is to go after or before the lunch or dinner crowd hits, so you can get the best spot possible without walking too much from the car to the restaurant location. But if you need to, there's always Uber and Lyft at your Disposal. If you're like me, the Maui bus can take you here as well. I think you would need to take only one bus from the queen Kaahumanu center. However, I could be mistaken. Please check the most current Maui bus schedule for the up-to-date information. And so, if you feel that you need some beef noodle soup in your life and you're on Molly for vacation or whatever, consider coming here and having your best time of your life. Soothe your Vietnamese, fix by having some beef noodle soup. It would be possibly the most fun you would have in your mouth your taste buds will thank you for it. The restaurant has an open kitchen design with 8 seats at the bar, seven 4-person tables and one 8-person table. We ordered the char siu & crispy pork belly plate and special pho. The flavor of the pho was really good! The noodles and meat made the pho better than Bale. The crispy pork was really crispy, just the way I like it. The char siu was good too, not too much fat. We decided to try this new restaurant by Nalu's and because they serve Roast Duck. I love most duck dishes and the picture looked good. First of all I liked the Roast Duck but the skin was soft. I wish the skin was crispy or at least not as soft as it was. Also there were only 3 slices of cucumber on the dish. I was hoping for more since there were no other vegetables other than the pickled ginger which was delicious. The picture on the add showed more slices. My husband ordered the Boat Noodles with rice noodles. He said it had good flavor. It was served with five condiments along with basil and bean sprouts to customize it for your preference. Went here for the first time today for lunch on a Sunday. We got in around 12:30 and they weren't super busy yet. Lots of tables and clean and inviting space near their sister restaurant Nutcharee's Authentic Thai. We noted you can see the kitchen as they're cooking your food and there are also wall outlets if you need to charge a device. Hostess/server was very friendly and the owner greeted us also and told us the specials for the day. We tried the edamame, crab Rangoon, oxtail soup with egg noodle, Vietnamese special pho, and the coconut ice cream. The edamame has a very delicious sauce on the outside that give it more flavor than just the normal sea salt I'm used to. Very good! The crab Rangoon order is a little small with only four pieces but the Rangoons are very delicious and have high quality seafood filling inside that is far more flavorful than your typical Rangoon. Not so heavy on the cream cheese. The egg noodles in the oxtail soup are almost more like standard ramen noodles, FYI. Came with several large bone in pieces of oxtail. I had the Vietnamese special pho. Very solid pho and has three kinds of meat (meat ball, sliced steak with a fatty edge, and then a thin steak more like shabu shabu meat). All soups come with sprouts, basil, lime, dish of housemade sriracha/hoisin. Also served with chili paste (very spicy). Very flavorful broth and exactly what most pho lovers will enjoy. The coconut ice cream with lumpia was very delicious. Had some honey and I believe peanut pieces on top. Lumpia are small almost straw size but a nice crispy compliment. Ice cream super flavorful and rich. We spent around $110 with three bowls of soup, two appetizers and a desert that we shared. None of us left feeling hungry (we were all stuffed!) and we didn't have enough leftovers to warrant taking in a box. Just the right amount of food. Friendly service. Would highly recommend trying it out if you like noodle soups and enjoy the food at Nutcharee's Thai. It is on par with that in terms of quality and will not disappoint. Aloha! read more

I called to place an order but before I ordered I asked the lady who answered the phone if it's chicken breast because that's the only kind of chicken I eat. She said it was. I picked it up and went home to eat it for lunch. I opened it and the chicken was fried & the chicken was a thigh not breast. Very disappointed!!! I wasted $20 on lunch I did not eat. An utter disappointment - with so many 5-star reviews, I was expecting this new restaurant to be awesome. My friend and I live only two minutes away so we decided to do take-out on a Saturday for lunch. The Singapore Noodles was mediocre in terms of flavor with hardly any meat. The Tiger Shrimp (four shrimps) was a total rip-off for $22 especially when the shrimps were overcooked (hard) and had no flavor. I grew up eating the "Hainan Chicken" dish and thought their "deep fried" Crispy Hainanese Chicken might be an interesting twist - well, not when the checken was *rock-hard* and barely warm!!!! The Charsiu manapua tasted decent with lots of fillings. I could tell they were hand-made because one of the two buns was half the size of the other one... With the prices this restaurant is charging, I would have expected something better than tasteless and overcooked food. The serving sizes were pretty tiny as well. The cashier was friendly but the staff cooking at the back (you can see them as you walk into the restaurant) looked grouchy. The restaurant looked pretty clean. Their website was also a major disaster. It didn't work on Safari and they forced you to create an account in order to just look at their menu. To top it off, they tried to charge 14% of "taxes and fees" for online order without even telling you what "fees" you were being charged for. I simply do not appreciate this kind of shady business practice. With so many new and awesome restaurants/food trucks around, I will never go back to N & R by Nutcharee again. read more

I'm a big fan of Nutcharee so I was excited to hear about their sister restaurant opening up. We stopped in without any reservations and were seated right away. I really liked the esthetics and open kitchen. It feels homey and inviting. The food was flavorful and delicious. It all came out pretty quickly too. We ordered the Crab Ragoons and Pohole Fern Salad to start. The ragoons were nice and cruchy and I appreciated that they were not scalding hot. The salad was excellent! It ranks as number two in my book as far as Pohole salad goes (Star Noodle #1). For dinner I got the roasted duck. 10/10. It came with a dipping sauce, large portion of rice, fresh cucumbers, 1/2 boiled egg and sliced ginger. The duck itself was sliced bite size and was the perfect amount for me. My other half got the pork belly/ char siu combo and it was also tasty. That dish came with the same sides as the duck. They also brought out some ginger/pho type broth that we did not order, but appreciated and enjoyed. No alcohol. Was served with what I assume was the Haianese chicken broth. Yum! Special Tomyum with seafood. The menu has a chili pepper sign next to it, and the color was red so I thought it was going to be spicy. I love spicy but it wasn't spicy. The tomyum flavor was there. I got it with regular rice noodles, other noodle options were vermicelli or egg noodles. There were strips of calamari, 2 varieties of fish cakes, ground pork, shrimp, mussels, fish ball. The menu didn't state this, but I also had what seamed like 2 pieces of pork and a beef ball. It was delicious! It also came with 2 pieces of fried wonton chips which I enjoyed having a crunch factor in the soup. Was good, but I would have enjoyed a bit more heat. It was an open set up so you can see the chefs preparing your food which I thought was very nice and a bit more inviting and personal! I initially ordered the boat noodle soup and when it arrived at the table, it had blood in it and I had no idea that it was a blood soup. I don't eat blood and so I was taken aback. I guess I should've researched more about what boat noodle soup is but on the menu, it didn't say that it was a blood based soup. That's the only reason I took it down to four stars.
