White Peach Oolong Tea

Looking for legit Ramen in South Kihei? Head to Tajima for a yummy selection of Ramen, more recently Sushi, and Curry/Rice Bowls. Went with some friends today and they offer Lunch Combo Meals. Our table got the Carnitas Ramen with a Mini Chashu Bowl (the cutest little bowl ever!), Tajima White Ramen is a classic with bok choy, egg, and corn and I tried something new, Gyokai Tonkotsu Tsukemen (dipping ramen). It had this nice balance of pork bone broth with the yuzu. If you love gyoza, theirs is a nice balance of crispy bottom to steamed wrapper. My friend and I enjoyed a refreshing White Peach Oolong Tea and a Strawberry Matcha Refresher. This place has great food but unfortunately service can be a tad on the slow side but the workers are friendly. It's definitely worth coming for your ramen fix!

This is actually delicious for vegetarians! I've been trying all the spots with good vegetarian/vegan options and by far this is the best tofu. We had the tofu fried rice and the vegetable ramen. Both were excellent but I'd go back for the fried rice. Every place I've reads reviews of someone says it's the best, but this one wins for me.

Nice ramen shop - clean & very cool inside. Service was great, as expected! The ramen was good but the whole experience was not very memorable. I would visit them again though, especially with family or a big group since they're able to accommodate that.

Tajima RED Ramen

Great ramen place in a strip mail in Kīhei. Service was fast and food was reasonably priced. Servings were generous. We got the lunch specials, which are full sized bowls of ramen with gyoza or kaarage.

Ordered takeout for a comforting at home meal while on vacation. However after stepping inside to pickup the order, I wished I had eaten there. So peaceful yet lively. I absolutely loved the ambiance inside and will make sure I enjoy a meal next time in person. Ramen had amazing flavors. Will definitely want to try the spicier version next time. Great portioned and loved how they packaged the to gos for freshness

We unexpectedly dropped by here for our last dinner in Maui on the recommendation of our uber driver who was also a local. Needless to say, we were blown away!!! Tajima is an underrated, quaint spot in Kihei serving up delicious hot bowls of ramen with the softest chashu I've ever had!! The meat literally fell apart as we picked it up with our chopsticks. The broth was also super rich and portion was just perfect. We also tried the chicken karaage with was delicious. The chicken meat had a nice chew to it and it paired really well with the creamy aioli on the side. I was especially impressed by the clean and quaint interior and nice menus! Can't say enough about this spot!

Black Ramen

I think this is one of the best ramen spots on Maui. My family has made this our regular ramen spot. The White, Red, and Black ramen's are all excellent. With the Red Ramen being my personal go to. The are often busy, but the wait time is never long. The service can be so-so at times, but the good food makes up for it.

Ramen here is super good! Service was fast and friendly, server checked in with us just the right amount. Restaurant was clean and modernish with good space between tables. Located in a strip mall so plenty of parking.

Worth the wait! Excellent ramen and sushi spot in Kihei's Kukui Mall. The spicy sesame ramen was delicious and came out hot and quickly.

We had a party of six and we all loved the Ramen! What can I say, I was surprised to find this place in a strip mall area in Maui. First of all, I was impressed by the large Japanese whiskey choices. I was like wow there is real whiskey here! It was the middle of the day so I could only afford to drink one highball but it was delicious! Everyone had a different ramen and all of the broths were savory, delicious, and the pork they used in the ramen was exceptionally flavorful, thick, and melted in your mouth. And yes I did try everyone's broth. Don't judge. It was a well lit restaurant, cold ac, and very well kept.the service was quick and kind. The bathroom was cool and had anime all over the walls, you gotta go see it. I know what you are saying, the price tho, but seriously if you want good ramen, you gotta pay. This is not Japan ok? Just get your behind to this place and check it out. You won't be disappointed. Trust me, I had a lot of ramen in my life, AND, I'm old so I had a lot of time to eat a lot of ramen.

We were looking for Japanese food and Yelp led us here. It's located in Kihei near Cool Cat Cafe. It's been open since June 2024. They just got their liquor license and they will start serving sushi soon. The restaurant is bright and clean with anime decorations. Seating includes five 4-seat tables, ten 2-seat tables, and six bar seats. The tables can be pushed together for larger parties. They have a regular menu and seasonal specials. We ordered the curry tonkotsu ramen, pork tonkatsu special, Uji Matcha green tea, and the melon cream soda. The tea was really refreshing and the melon soda was creamy and perfect! The ramen was spicy and included lots of toppings. The tonkatsu was a bit over cooked but really crispy. It was actually a side item so we ordered rice on the side. The service is fast and friendly. It's great to have another place for good Japanese food.

We ordered the garlic Ramen and the spicy beef Ramen and the chicken Katsu. We don't have any pictures because our phones were dead from no electricity from the storm, and the folks were so nice they let us charge phone at the counter. The portions are humongous. We were shocked, even though we were super hungry since we haven't had any real food for almost 24 hours, we could only eat half of the food. Granted we order three plates for two people, but still. And even at dinner, we couldn't finish the leftovers because it was just very filling. The flavors are really good. I didn't expect to have dined here, but I'm glad that we did. For how busy they were, they were very attentive and apologize for just slightly longer wait times. But honestly for such a crazy rain storm, it was so wonderful to have them be open! It's a simple restaurant in a plaza with a Safeway. Nothing fancy, but also not really a hole in the wall either. It's not a particularly trendy or a cute place, but it does the job. There's plenty of parking in the plaza that's free and then the restroom is also easily accessible and well kept.

Not my first time here, but stopped by for an early lunch around 10:30 on a Sunday…read more Only one other table was there before us with 2 people, otherwise the place was pretty empty. I was surprised they open at 10 am, but they do. We were promptly given ice water and our orders taken. We ordered mini ramen combo (shoyu) with gyoza and mini pork fried rice...a seperate small order of gyoza and an order of beef curry. The gyoza came out quickly and were pretty good. The gyoza sauce bottle was nearly empty. Had to grab one from another table. For being the opening shift, I would have assumed the night shift would have prepped sauces the night before so none were empty on tables. The mini ramen came next and had a generous portion of noodles, and the noodles were very good. They seem to have changed their noodles. They used to taste more like rice noodles or spaghetti but now they are legit hand made ramen and are very good. Unfortunately, the shoyu broth was pretty bland even if I added soy sauce. Also, the mini ramen only came with one small piece of char siu pork inside...disappointing portion of meat. It took a long time before the beef curry came out. I was surprised it was so long after the ramen. When it came out, the portion size was very large, but mostly rice. Similar to the ramen, we felt that the meat portions were not generous. The curry didn't contain visible onion, but did have potato and large pieces of carrot. Not sure if worth the price since so little beef. They water refills kept coming which was nice. Good service in that regard. The mini pork fried rice was the last item to come out and almost came out as like a dessert timed item. I don't know why the timing of the items coming out was so spread out. Maybe they are short staffed in the kitchen or don't have many cooks yet at 10 am? Overall, the food is decent for what it is. Wish they were more generous with the meat. Also wish the service was a little faster.

She showed disgust at our order and was the most unfriendly waitress we have ever had. Traditionally, sushi chef put soy sauce and wasabi in the between the fish and rice, and it's part of the flavor. I don't remember how it was done last time, but that was not the case this time. I had to awkwardly flip the nigiri pieces and dip the fish side in soy sauce, and then they fall apart. Ugh. Also, I didn't appreciate the size of the rice. It was impossible for me to eat the whole piece in one bite, but it's kind of rude not to under the traditional Japanese etiquette. The fish quality was.....okay. TBH, I had better in Sacramento/Roseville for way cheaper. I had more elegant, delicious, and satisfying omakase in San Diego, New York, Shanghai....you name it. For the price (even adjusted for the Maui premium) and the capability of the owners, I truly believe they could do better. Sending love!
