Purely food based review: Injeolmi Shake - A unique Korean flavor that's grainy, tastes like rice cake powder. A bit too much for me in a drink factor. I love it on their desserts though. This is a really cute cafe with beautifully presented bingsoo (Korean shaved ice), desserts, and other food items. It looks very underwhelming from the outside, but the inside is very nice. It was very crowded on a Monday evening. We ordered a Purple Sweet Potato Bingsoo and a Mango Bingsoo. Each was about $10 after tax. The shaved ice was basically just ice and condensed milk, so it wasn't too sweet or too heavy. They are topped with flavored syrup and toppings (a flower for the Purple Sweet Potato bingsoo and diced mango for the other one). The bingsoo also comes with a stackable set of smaller dishes, with one layer holding extra syrup, and the other one with extra condensed milk. As you eat more, you can pour more of those onto the shaved ice, depending on how sweet you want it. It also comes with some purple sweet potato chips, and those were so good. I'm pretty sure most people come here for the pictures, since everything has a nice presentation. The flavor of the shaved ice was very light, and hardly sweet, since it was mostly ice. So if you are into that, I would highly recommend Cafe Mixx. It also goes by Cafe Bora I believe. Service was not the best. We stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes before anyone noticed us. The staff working didn't know much about the menu, so they had to go find another employee to come help us. They give you a buzzer to let you know when your items are ready. Absolutely fell in love with this place. Took my mom here on a mom/daughter date and the presentation of this place is just incredible. The menu is mostly various types of bingsu and tiramisu with a lot of varieties of iced and hot coffees and lattes. Purple yam is definitely a favorite here. I got the Einspanner, which is basically iced coffee with a heavy cream float and cocoa on top- mix it good! Amazing. Also had a purple yam tiramisu. Very filling but delicious. Mom had the red bean bingsu and I thought it was SO CUTE how there were stackable containers under the sweet potato chips. One container contained sweetened condensed milk, the bottom contained extra red bean, both for the bingsu. Amazing. The cafe also serves heavier meals, primarily tonkatsu in many varieties. Seating is quaint. Some tables reserved for groups of 4+ and others for 2. Service was quick and polite. The bathroom and establishment in general were clean. We will definitely be back!!! Cafe Mixx is an Asian fusion cafe and combination of Cafe Bora, The Alchemist (Coffeeshop), and Donkatsu, so you can get dessert right after your main meal! It's also heavily influences by Japanese and Korean cuisine which I am a big fan of. But I wanted to focus on Cafe Bora and the Donkatsu, since those were the two options I had tried when I was here. Cafe Bora has the cutest selection for specialty ube desserts! We ordered four different things but they're all pretty small so if you share, you can sample all of them and not feel overwhelmed. We tried the Honey Glazed Croffle, Purple Sweet Potato Bingsu, Purple Tiramisu, and Ube Soft Serve. Definitely recommend the ube tiramisu and honey glazed croffle (my favorite!) because it's so soft, not overly sweet and the flavors were really smooth and went so well together. The croffle was so delicious we went to order another one, their chocolate croffle, and it was equally amazing. Overall, all their desserts are delicious and love the presentation with flower decorations, so dainty and pretty - definitely instagrammable! As for the Donkatsu, we ordered the spicy donkatsu (pork cutlet and it was super crispy and the sauce reminded me of spicy bbq. It also came with miso soup, cabbage salad, fruits, and white rice. Pretty big portions so share with a friend if you're someone who can't eat a lot! Presentation is beautiful as well and really enjoyed my time here. This is super chic cafe that offers dessert and fusion food with Japanese and Korean influences. ⁣ ⁣ We tried their Purple tiramisu, purple ube soft serve and injeolmi bingsoo. I've only been to CM twice. The first time I came a bit too early and found they don't open until 11 o'clock but today I made it well after opening. I saw all of the amazing pictures. Other Yelpers have posted and was intrigued by the purple latte. Since the weather has gotten cooler I ordered the purple latte to go. It buzzed when your food is ready. Matcha milk: expensive, a bit more on the sweet side. Overall not bad, but probably not my go to place if I wanted matcha latte or match milk tea. Hamburger steak: it tasted really good, but then the sauce become overpoweringly sweet. I wish there was something pickled or spicy to offset the sweetness. Spicy chicken katsu: nice and crisp and a good level of spicy. I only sampled a bite since it was my friends order. Also tried a sip of the taro milk (purple colored bottle) - you can definitely taste the taro. Wasn't my favorite, out of the two I would go with matcha. Cafe Mixx is a combination of Cafe Bora + The Alchemist + Donkatsu so you know they got the sauceee Every single time I come here, I always try something new and am amazed at how good the food is. I wanted to switch it up and tried the (honey butter cheese) Hamburg steak for the first time today and it was really good too. I saw good reviews on the rice cake + sausage skewer so I tried it out and it did not disappoint! It sounds like a weird mix but it actually tastes pretty good together! Good for an appetizer! And boyyyy the desserts got me salivating!! Their strawberry, matcha bingsu is SO GOOD! Lowkey small portions and expensive but it's okay we go for quality. My favorite dessert place in Georgia. They have two locations in Lawrenceville-Suwanee and Alpharetta. I will not recommend the Alpharetta location as it's very much lacking compared to the other one. Their shave ice and ice cream are to die for. Cafe Mixx has a collaboration with Cafe Alchemist to bring their drinks over. Trying their crispy fried chicken, it was unbelievably not what I expected. It was very juicy and crispy. I love the fact that Cafe Mixx is a perfect place for people like me to set up and get some work done. They combine a great atmosphere with amazing coffee, desserts and full meals. We dont have many cafe's like this that offer a full menu alone with killer coffee so hats off to these guys! A few things I tried: When I first came here, I tried the pork cutlet and was a bit defensive about the order since I recently moved back from Japan and being a huge fan of "Katsu" styled dishes, I havent really been able to find one I really liked. This one blew my other experiences out! It was super crispy, had an amazing presentation and a great flavor! Even the sauce was a great combinations to it. I would later come back and try the honey butter parm version and loved it even more! I would recommend anyone try this one if its your first time there. The fried chicken here is pretty good too. It wouldnt be a complete as a Korean cafe without some good KFC (Korean fried chicken). You can get seasoned or non-seasoned (regular). When it says seasoning, its a bit offsetting considering its not so much seasoned as "glazed." I ordered this during an event here and was a bit surprised! It came with a sweet chili glaze and had a great flavor! If your not sure what kind of KFC to try, get the seasoned if you dont mind getting a bit messy. The flavor is great! Coffee wise, if you are visiting for the drinks, go with the "Alchemist Coffee" which is an espresso combined with condensed milk and some other flavors I cant figure out. It is a great cup of coffee and definitely gets the job done as far as waking me up. If thats not strong enough, you can always get the Dutch coffee. That stuff is like a seizure in a cup! Its a cold brew slow dripped almost 24 hours. There are also some unique desserts here. If you want bingsu, its a great place to try something different. I love the idea of giving extra sauce with the bingsu since normally you get a limited window of flavor before your just chewing on ice but this kind comes with a cup of the sauce to pour over once you feel that flavor leaving. There is also purple potato ice cream which is probably an acquired taste if your not used to it but I love it! Its pretty mask heavy so make sure you have a mask before coming in - otherwise the staff is very friendly. read more

One of the best ambiances a cafe can possibly have. We took our time with our desserts and really enjoyed the experience. They give you these cool little chips that look like flowers. But looking at the strawberry ice, the picture shows a plethora of strawberries so that's all you can see. But I was watching people pick it up and there was one strawberry on it. I asked and they said they changed their menu but not their picture. Disappointing, but still delicious. We also got a purple ice cream which was tasty and generous. But I got a really cool looking. coffee drink. I don't remember the name but they have a picture front and center that looks amazing. What I got was like a simple latte. I just ordered take out from here. I live close by but have never gotten a chance to try out their food. I ordered the tonkatsu, chicken katsu and purple sweet potato waffle. The tonkatsu was good, but I'm not a huge fan of their sauce. I like the darker tangy sauce that I usually get with it in other restaurants. This one tasted kinda like a creamy tomato sauce or something. It came with a scoop of rice, miso soup, salad, pickles and pickled ginger. I was so disappointed at the sweet potato waffle when I got home. The girl did tell me that she left the box open so that it could firm up a little, but the inside was not cooked all the way. It was very mushy (see photo). The taste is great, but I just wish she cooked it longer. It had some resemblance of a waffle, but bc it wasn't done, it was really soft and flimsy. I saw one other photo of this waffle on yelp, and theirs looked like a perfect waffle. The waffle is the main reason I didn't give them 4 stars. One of my favorite cafe's in Suwanee! Along with the relaxing atmosphere and simple interior, they have amazing food as well that aren't just snacks and dessert. I normally order the regular Pork Loin Tonkatsu but today I got the Spicy Pork Loin Tonkatsu. Their tonkatsu's are always super crispy on the outside. They include pickle, a scoop of rice, and a cabbage salad on the side. The sauce is on the side instead of poured on top. I thought the pork loin itself was going to be spicy but it was just the sauce that was spicy. It doesn't look like much but I'm always full and happy at the end of my meal. The orange honey ade is made from a jam that's added to the bottom and mixed with sparkling water. Naturally sweetened and very refreshing. The ricecake-sausage skewer is my absolute favorite. Delicious donkatsu, it's the Korean version of tonkatsu. The one I had added honey butter and cheese to my pork cutlet which was rich and delicious. A full meal with sides and everything. I tried their Espresso shaken drink, it wasn't my favorite, but good. My friend order the sparkling version of the citron tea and THAT was delicious. Really a treat. Could see us just stopping up by sometime to pick up drinks when on the go. Prices were fair considering portion sizes, but expect to spend about $12-20 per person.
