The Cuban latte and the Ube the cold brew, are delicious. The cream cheese pumpkin loaf is absolutely scrumptious and I would come back just to get a slice of that alone. The omelette tastes like it was homemade, which isn't a bad thing. I hate more than anything when a local business gives attitude or seems like they don't have good customer service to their patrons/ seem like they're doing us a favor when taking our orders, and I did not feel like that at this place. A lot of coffee places are giving a very cold aesthetic, but it felt warm and welcoming over here, even though they were extremely busy taking orders. Came here to try some yummy coffee and have breakfast. Ordered a vanilla oat milk latte and a breakfast sandwich with an over medium egg. Total came out to $28. A little pricey for a coffee shop in my opinion, however the service was great. Lots of staff were working and checking in throughout my stay. The coffee was delicious, truly would come back for a cup of that. The sandwich with hashbrowns was good. Egg cooked to perfection, but I just don't see myself paying $14+ for a sandwich at a coffee shop. They got a section with all the stuff needed to add to yur coffee, cream, sugar, works and then utensils and sauces for your food. I've only tried this place twice and the first time I just had an iced latte which was okay. I came in Sunday morning with a friend, they were a little busy but we ordered and found a table easily. They have tons of seating space and even a semi private little study pod which we thought was pretty cute. The cashier was nice enough and she answered all of our questions. The downfall of this experience was by far the food. I ordered two breakfast tacos with brisket and cheese, a side of hash browns, and a large matcha latte with marshmallow syrup. Those were the saddest breakfast tacos I've ever had. The brisket was bland, CRISPY, and it was mostly fat inside the taco. Honestly having a surcharge for such mediocre brisket is crazy. I'm not sure how much more the brisket tacos were because I didn't get a receipt but I wouldn't even want to pay $0.25 more. When I ordered the hashbrowns as a side I was not expecting to get two frozen hashbrown patties dripping in oil. In total my meal was about $24. Not worth it at all. My friend had an avocado toast with an egg and even that was bland. How does one mess up avocado toast? Hers was about $19. Also not worth it. The shining stars of the meals were our matcha lattes, they were very earthy even with the added syrups. Maybe we just picked bad dishes and they have better things to offer. However, after reading a few reviews and seeing the cafe owner argue with customers about their bad experiences I wouldn't recommend eating here regardless. read more

This place is AMAZING--a true hidden gem! My husband and I came here for brunch on a Sunday morning. From the moment you walk in you just feel a warm, welcoming vibe. The service is top notch and the atmosphere is so chill. We both ordered the Hearty Breakfast which includes French toast or waffle, 2 eggs cooked your way, meat, and fruit or hash browns. Holy moly! My over-easy eggs were cooked to perfection! Everything was savory and delicious. And the coffee! Oof! Their honey, cinnamon latte is pure joy in a cup. Seriously. My husband was not a fan of their roasted coffe, however. But, he is super picky when it comes to Hazelnut. Overall, what impressed me the most was their service. What a gross spot. 1 star breakfast experience. The saving grace for 2 stars? The London fog latte. That's the only item we enjoyed during our stay here. Strange breakfast concept with skimpy items that are tasteless and just straight up weird. I ordered a side of hashbrowns to go along with my breakfast taco. What came out on my plate was a freaking joke. A tiny skimpy amount of lifeless hashbrowns that were cold and greasy. No crisp, no taste, no "umph" this is hearty and wholesome! The breakfast taco was unappealing as well. The tortilla was bitter and gross, reminded me of the "Mission Tortilla" brand. The filling inside of the taco was just okay as well. When I think of a breakfast taco, I imagine it coming out with salsa or some type of hot sauce. Nothing. Bland. The breakfast hash that was ordered came in a tiny bowl. When you typically think of breakfast hash, you imagine a hearty and large portion of beef brisket dripping with eggs and all the good stuff. If you're going to overcharge customers, you'd better use fresh tortillas and better ingredients in general. This place was also counter service, so you have to fetch for every single thing. We're spoiled within the inner loop of Houston and appreciate the cafes over there. Service here was just okay, as lukewarm as the food they're serving up. Won't be revisiting and thankfully have no reason, since we're typically not in the area. Maybe you have to look and behave a certain way in order to receive actual food on your plate and better service. But this? This place just ain't it. Bye-bye. Edit: I never asked for a "hashbrown" taco, I asked for a regular egg and cheese breakfast taco with an addition of avocado inside the taco. As well as hashbrowns on the side. I live in the area but had never been here before. I heard Gordon Ramsey was here filming a segment and used this cafe as a good example of how to do things right so I really wanted to see what the hype was about. They also emphasized having a drive thru which I can definitely appreciate as a mom to 2 kiddos that still take car naps. So I stopped by yesterday around 10am while my youngest had fallen asleep after the park and to my surprise there was no line in the drive thru. I ordered the Cuban latte on ice and asked about any pastries as my oldest wanted a snack and we opted for a cranberry muffin. The menu itself ONLY had drinks listed whereas the drive thru sign clearly says "breakfast and lunch" as well. Idk if that was bad planning or deceptive but I got the feeling they don't actually want to serve you any food in the drive thru. I asked what breakfast sandwiches they had available and the woman was cold and said "we're kinda busy inside right now but you can come inside." I just said that's okay just the drink and muffin please. The parking lot was nowhere near full. When I got my iced latte I immediately was disappointed. The cup and drink felt warm with a few ice pieces floating at the top. By the time I swirled it around to try and mix the condensed milk at the bottom the ice was practically gone and the drink itself was tepid at best. Idk if there's anything I despise more than a warm iced latte. Disgusting. The muffin was fine. Just a generic muffin you'd find at a big box store. Wish I could've tried some food but since they don't serve it in the drive thru idk when I can go back with my kids. read more

I want so badly to like this place but I've been 3 times now and been disappointed every visit. The pastries look good but they are so so dry like they've sat for days. I have tried a cherry pie croissant and some kind of cinnamon bun and both were not good. I've also had the chicken salad on a salad and it was mediocre as well. Maybe the hot breakfasts are better? The coffee is okay but they serve it so hot that even after letting it sit for 15 minutes with the lid off, it burned my mouth. I absolutely love this place!! I originally came for the worship service that takes place Wednesday morning which was glorious and soundproof so we didn't disturb patrons. It's also a great place to work from home it's there is inside & outside seating as well as a booth for taking calls or virtual meetings. PLEASE DO NOT waste your money here. Oh my goodness. I just popped in for a quick lunch and, wow, this place has really gone downhill. First, the lady at the front was rude, pointing with her finger right at me telling another employee to take my order, saying, "That one. That one." Unprofessional, but oh well. I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato soup. My meal comes out. The soup is lukewarm and was maybe inspired by tomatoes, but definitely lacked actual tomatoes and quality ingredients. It had a strange sweetness and muted, almost watery taste. Not their strength, okay. The sandwich would surely be the redeeming half of this entree. Sadly, nope. It was anything but grilled. It looked and felt like it had been held under a hairdryer for four minutes before getting tossed into the plate. Absolutely no crusty outside...just two pieces of greasy, floppy bread with an ungodly amount of melted cheese in between. I never do this, but I honestly could not force myself to eat even half of this pathetic plate. On a positive note, bottled water was cold. I paid $17 and left with my water and a growling stomach. Absolute waste of money; I'll never return. There are so many options in this area. There is no reason to go here and experience this level of disappointment. You've been warned! lol! read more

I work early in the morning, so coffee is a crutch that is a most sometimes. Cafe Marrese is my go to stop in the Tomball 249 area. I won't recommend you anything else because I've been hooked onto the, "Lavender Bee," for years now. This coffee medicine drink has lavender, local honey, and oat milk. It's always served hot and it soothes my soul. Today, 11-19-2023 I came by to work in the cafe. I am sitting here as I write this. It is so clean! I ordered a breakfast taco and it was yumm. It was big and I loved that. I'll have to try the other food because because all I read and hear are excellent reviews. Additionally, the golden cherry on this cake is this cafe's staff's service and their prices. Ask about their happy hour. I save the best for last because todays staff @Haley and her coworkers, are really friendly and personable. The vibe here is lovely and I've never seen this place so spotless. Woaw! Food is hit and miss. Breakfast tacos were good for the money but avocado toast left something to be desired. avocado was not ready, and I specifically asked for no tomatoes, and it came loaded with a giant pile of tomatoes on top . Tasted like it did not have any seasoning at all and was generally very bland . Bacon was very good . Chicken honey butter biscuit was OK but had a tendon through the middle of the chicken. My goodness, if you remember the previous owners food quality, portion and prices you know the changes here are not good! The prices as I've stated in my earlier reviews are about 45 % too high with smaller portions. I've been in the restaurant business over 40 years, an egg is an egg cage free or not! The avocado toast has less than 3oz of avocado but the price is as if it's a whole avocado. 19 dollars for a breakfast sandwich is bizarre. Really wish there was an alternative near by. We arrived early as we knew it got packed for breakfast. The indoor and outdoor patio are decorated really nicely. After you order at the counter, they will bring you your order. They also have a drive through incase that is more your style. Water, syrups, and utensils are left upfront for you to grab as needed. The coffee is tasty, and they have alternative milks, such as coconut, almond, and oat if needed! The breakfast sandwich was large, and you are able to add eggs to the avocado toast, which I did. The food was fresh and delicious! They also have lunch, which we'll be back to try as it sounds appetizing. The parking can be tricky if you come during rush hour since there are some spaces in the shopping center that are reserved for other businesses. Old review photos steered me wrong: I got the BLT ($15) on the smallest diagonally-sliced halves of bread & mayo was not in it, had to ask. I'd been asked to choose a side - that comes with it, and I'd chosen fruit. I got 9 blueberries and 7 sour strawberry halves - I counted! Imagine my shock when I realized that they charged me an additional $2 for THAT. The quinoa bowl was okay, but the pecan salad was loads better. Their chai tea was my highlight - really delish and heartwarming, and it's definitely worth coming back for. The prices are high for the quality of food that they're serving. This was our first time trying Cafe Marrese. The girl at the counter recommended the Tacchino and it was really good. She also recommended to try it with the chipotle mayo, which I ordered but sadly did not receive. I would eat this sandwich again though! My boyfriend ordered the breakfast flatbread and said it was really good. The eggs were cooked a perfect over medium and he said the meat was tasty. The only complaint is that the flatbread wasn't crisp. He was told to eat it like a pizza, but the flatbread was almost too soft to hold up. If it had a couple of minutes on the flattop, it might have fared better. Taste wise - he said he would have it again. The things we wouldn't order again: the cinnamon dolce latte - it was way too sweet and topped with whipped cream. The dirty chai - it took a while for the flavors to mix but adding the espresso was the only thing that saved it.
