I've brought so many different people here and they all agree the food is fantastic. The decor is so welcoming and thoughtfully done. It's a lovely place with delicious coffee drinks and fresh squeezed juices that are SO good. My absolute favorite is the TLT sandwich - the bacon is slightly sweet and the chipotle mayo is such a nice addition. I love the seasoning on their potatoes - the chips are crisp and tasty. The fish and chips tacos are so bright and refreshing - love them with the grilled tilapia option. The cafe de olla is yummy, and their matcha is prepared perfectly. Their juices and lattes are so beautifully presented and delicious! The garnish that comes with is always so pretty, down to the cute little wooden cherry-topped skewers. Taco Tuesday is a ridiculously good value with the same delicious tacos you can get every day. They do not skimp on the flavor or the servings. Don Bar is such a cute cafe and the perfect spot for matcha fans. The lovely B (North Houston CM) put this place on my radar, as we met up for a breakfast coworking session fueled by matcha, matcha, and more matcha. We tried the banana matcha, strawberry matcha, and then their berry matcha. Staff is very attentive, checking up on us and even bringing by a sample of their cafe de olla. If you have a gluten allergy, ask them not to put pocky sticks in your drink and forgo the cookie samples too (total bummer for me!). I don't think there is anything like this establishment in this area, so it's a special spot worth checking out. They have a full menu of food and baked goods. read more

Came on over here for lunch with a friend, and I am sad that I have passed this place so many times and not noticed it. It sits right across from 2 Guys 1 Pit, so if you're familiar with them, look across the street and you'll find this amazing neighborhood gem! When you walk in, it is bright and open, lots of seating. Love all the greens and pink colors of the place, makes you feel right at home. We were greeted promptly and I knew I lunch would be quick so we hopped right into the order and started with the birria fries from the appetizer menu. Topped with cheesey goodness and fresh pico. When they came out....oh em geeeeee, they were so good. The birria was super tender, and flavored deliciously, with just the right amount of cheese. The sauce that they were covered in was well seasoned also, I could've just licked the plate. The fries still held their crisp, and they tasted homemade, so every bite was just filled with so much flavor. Super good! We also ordered tacos, as they have specials on Taco Tuesday. By 2 get 1 free. We opted for the Ribeye Y Papas Bravo Tacos and 2 of the Mini Tacos - Al Pastor con grilled piña. I asked for them to add the piña, and would highly recommend requesting that! I got the verde salsa and my friend opted for the spiciest one they had, which I believe was haberño. The verde was quite tasty for me, fresh and well seasoned, the haberño wasn't spicy to me at all, and I am prone to run away from spicy. It had more of a smokey flavor, which was nice. The tacos were soooo good. We got the ribeye tacos on flour tortillas. She said they don't make them in house, however, they do taste like they are homemade from somewhere. The tortilla was great, and was a great vesel for the tender ribeye and the yummy potatoes. They were topped with grilled onions and peppers, which paired all together very well. The al pastor was also a fave of mine. They are street style so if I got those on my own, 3-4 would be the perfect amount. Got those on corn tortillas, and really really enjoyed those. read more

This is the sweetest bakery and restaurant! They are women & family owned, and their pastries and cookies are delicious! They have a juice bar where everything is made fresh, and then rows upon rows of sweet goodies to try. They also serve hot food as well! I went in the evening, but want to come back for brunch! Tried this place on a whim with my family. It was on a Sunday and it was not busy at all. We tried their appetizer, taquidos dorados and they were very good with a spicy sauce. Their matcha is Delish! We had their banana matcha and tried their cafe de olla---tasted amazing! We had their Salvadoran breakfast sandwich and green chilaquiles; both were good but definitely the red chilaquiles may taste better. They also had a nice little bakery to enjoy with coffee so that was nice. Overall, amazing service, cute roses hung from the ceiling in the bakery room and a cute set up for photos inside the restaurant. Overall, definitely try this place! read more

Don Bar & Bakery is fairly new to the area, and my sister and I stopped by on a Thursday evening to check it out. We originally went just to try the matcha, but ended up ordering food too. For drinks, I had the Bananas 4 You matcha, and my sister ordered a cherry matcha. Mine was good, but I actually preferred hers -- the cherry flavor was really nice. Both drinks lean more toward a dessert-style matcha -- milky, sweet, and not super earthy -- so they're perfect if you're in the mood for a treat. We also ordered the birria cheese fries, and those were really good. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the fries were cooked perfectly, which made the whole dish come together really well. Overall, we had a great experience and I'd definitely come back to try their brunch and more of their drinks. The service was good, everything came out at a decent time and the employees were friendly. The restaurant is also really cute! read more

Get ready for a Hispanic tastebuds awakening! The conchas at DON Bar & Bakery are not those dry grocery store conchas. These conchas are made daily in-house. They bake them in three flavors, vanilla strawberry or chocolate. The chocolate actually tasted like chocolate because they use fresh cacao. The strawberry concha has a fresh puréed strawberry in the icing. Never too sweet both were perfect with my Cafecito. We also sampled, homemade sweet empanadas and cornbread. The staff at DON Bar & Bakery made us feel welcomed and right at home. The owner came out and shared stories about the vision they're sharing in the Tomball/Spring with the spectacular menu. I was able to come here yesterday for our silent book club meeting. They were so accommodating to host 67 people here. I love the ambiance and decor here. They had couches, tables, bar section and booths so it's a variety of different places to sit here. I loved seeing the different teas, coffee and sodas. They had Mexican sprite so I had to have it lol Now the TLT is a fun BLT with avocado and spicy mayo sauce that I enjoyed so much! My friends had chicken tacos with potatoes and turkey sandwich and yummy fries. Everyone raved about their yummy meals. This was a great venue to eat, chat and read. I was sad it was over. I recently came here this past weekend and absolutely loved everything about this place! It was so cute inside and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Super cute place and very nice people. We came for some of the bakery items advertised on their website, filled conchas, empanadas dulces, Magdalena's, or bolillos. We were really hoping for a panaderia. What we bought, croissants, conchas, empanada con crema, and some cookies were fine, but I'm not sure they were baked fresh. We did not try the cafe menu, but it looked delicious, sort of a mix of Mexican and southern dishes. Perhaps we will give them another chance when we feel like having a sit down meal. read more

This was our first time to try Don Bar & Bakery and it did not disappoint! First of all we got our food to go and the service over the phone was AMAZING! The food was ready quickly and it was delicious. We got the grilled turkey sandwich and the vodka chicken sandwich, both served with homemade fries thst were perfectly crispy. Delicious! This is a great joint to go to for brunch. Great service. It is beautiful in there. I love their wood chairs and i love that they show and sell art. Anyway back to the food, I had a delicious Turkey Sandwhich. Their sweet bacon and bread in the sandwich is so good. The deserts are delicious as wells. We visited twice in a week for deserts. My favorite are these chocolate chip cakes shaped like a flower. It is a moist yummy pound cake like flavor with chocolate chips in it. So good try it. I came here to work because I had to get out of my house while people were working on it. Did I step into a gem! The owners are three sisters and I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with one of them. The coffee was amazing. I ordered a vanilla latte made with Oat milk and it was perfection! I was planning on ordering something to eat after working for a bit, but to my surprise was brought the TLT sandwich on the house! It was SO good. The bread was delicious and it was piled with bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado. I ordered the ribeye and chimichurri sandwich to go! (My husband will get that later). Terrible customer service. The restaurant only had a few tables occupied, yet it took forever just to get water and even longer for the food. My order was made incorrectly, I refused the plate, and they still charged me full price for their mistake. Slow service, wrong food, and zero accountability. Definitely not worth the money. Bread was also very bland and they warm it up and it makes the bottom soggy. Smh. read more
