Cafe La On located along Dundas St W. near Huron St is a Korean-owned cafe and dessert shop. The small space does require one to take a small flight of stairs to the 2nd floor where the shop is located. Upon entering, the cafe has some seating in the front and back. In terms of offerings, they offer your classic espresso based drinks (they use Hatch coffee beans!), teas, as well as signature drinks (like the dark choco, cold brew, espresso tonic, or the peach yuzu tonic). They also have a cream series menu which is served cold only with different flavoured creams which are added on top of the drinks. I dropped by Cafe La On on a Tuesday afternoon for a coffee and snack. I ordered the Grey It Coffee (cold brew with sweetened Earl Grey cream) and a hojicha eclair. I did ask the staff which dessert would pair well with my drink and he gave me a few options. My drink was made at a reasonable time and I decided to enjoy the space there for a little bit. During my time there there were a few customers who came in to order drinks and food. My drink was made well. The cold brew was tasty and the Earl Grey cream foam was a bit sweet but mellowed out after it mixed together more with the coffee. The staff did tell me not to stir the cream foam and coffee, but instead enjoy it as it is and mix it afterwards. My eclair was tasty as well - not too sweet. The only issue I had was that the Hojicha filling started spilling out the more I ate the dessert. Overall, a delicious dessert though! Overall, a quaint new cafe serving up some great drinks and dessert. A great place to unwind after a busy day or to catch up with friends!

Came with a couple of friends as per recommendation and although the place is very aesthetic, the drinks were alright at best. Great service and presentation but there was more to desire out of them for being a very milk-heavy tasting drink.

The staffs were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. There were limited seats in the cafe but my friends and I managed to get a spot! We ordered the earl grey matcha drink which had sweet earl grey cream foam. I really enjoyed this drink and loved the sweet cream. The matcha was a bit bitter but if you like it strong this would be the perfect matcha for you! We also got an assortment of desserts. We thought the dessert ball was a mochi ball but when we got it we were a bit disappointed that it was actually a mousse cake ball. Overall, the taste was good and we enjoyed hanging out at this cafe!

This second location is located outside on the beautifully picturesque cobblestone road named Temperance Street. The building is historic and the calm interiors make you feel instantly at home. The staff was really nice and told me about their menu and seasonal items. In addition to coffee and matcha based beverages, the store offers food and merch as well. Apparently this location is a laptop free zone, offering an incredibly welcome oasis from the hustle and bustle of financial district. Today I ordered a cortado. Before you even drink it, the fragrant coffee smell hits you. A bit sweet and almost fruity. When drinking it, the flavours amplify and provide an overall sense of calm, a breath of fresh air. It doesn't just feel like a regular old coffee but that you can take your time with it, like having a conversation with an old friend, it is meant to be savoured. I absolutely plan to go back for one of their seasonal matcha beverages and to get away from it all. 5/5

I did like the flavor of the regular hot matcha latte more, plus they made a very cute bunny latte art on it! Inside is small with minimal seatings but has a cool ambience for hanging out.

This coffee shop is nestled semi-behind a pillar beside the lobby of the Intercontinental hotel Toronto, which adds to its charm for me, in a way. Love finding a good "hole in the wall" :) I love the bright, feminine, beachy decor and coral pink & aqua blue accents. It's not too tropical, but it definitely transports you outside of Canada. Coupled with Aussie staples like vegemite and Noosa magazines (takes me straight back there!), as well as gorgeous ceramic coffee mugs for purchase, the vibes are great here. While it is a smaller shop, there is enough seating for 3 tables, and it's very cozy. Had to go for a flat white, given the Aussie homage here. This one got my approval (and I'm picky about my flat whites) - they used a lighter, more balanced espresso roast, paired with just the right amount of creamy frothed milk. They also had a banana bread latte that my companion really enjoyed too! Looking forward to my next visit!

It's a tiny, cozy place with only a couple tables and tall chairs, so they can really only accommodate grab-and-go orders, other than a few people to sit or work. Perfect for a coffee before a Jays game or if you're here for a conference next door. I realized it was already late fall and I hadn't yet had my one and only PSL of the year, so that's what I ordered. It was decent as far as PSL's go and came with a lovely little foam pumpkin on top. Tres adorbs. The iced strawberry matcha latte also looked incredible and I had order envy. My friend ordered a pastry and said it was delicious. They also have a great little selection of food items, canned bevvies, coffee beans, teas, as well as souvenir gifts for purchase such as ceramic mugs. Did I mention the coffee was really good?

Staff was beyond friendly and knowledgeable and we had a great time chatting with them. Great tunes played inside with plenty of fantastic vinyl to choose from to boot.
