I came here with my friend who knows the city better than I do, and I wanted to try out a new spot. I love the location, in between victorian buildings and lush trees. There was no line so we ordered our food, it did take about 10 minutes for our order to be ready. But the food and drinks were evidently made to order, so I'm happy to wait for a fresh meal. My matcha tasted perfect, not too sweet, and with a subtle taste of strawberry. I accidentally ordered it hot but the owner was happy to make it iced for me. Next time I'm definitely gonna try the other bagels she has to offer. Our food was tasty and filling. We will be returning!!
I got the mexicanito and it was really healthy and fresh :) my only reason for the 4 stars was that it took a little long to come out. maybe like 20 min :( there was no one in line either )
This seems to be quite the popular spot. Came on a Saturday morning at around 10ish and there was a decent crowd and when I left after eating it seemed like a new crowd had formed. It is real quick to order but due to how busy they are it can be a bit of a wait. They have a lot of outdoor seating with a couple tables inside. The food was worth the wait. I got the meat lovers burrito and it was loaded. Could have done with just eating half....but with the hot sauce it just tasted so good I finished the whole thing and left feeling stuuuffed. Glad my friend found it tucked away in Nob Hill. Looking forward to going back!
This was my second time and I got the: (8/10) Farmers Burrito - Good but the salsa is quite spicy even without the hot sauce. Not the biggest burrito, one issue is that they cut the burrito with the foil wrapped and so my friend almost ate small pieces of the foil. The workers are very friendly and sweet. Better than sweet is owned by the family as well but in a separate store next to Cafe Isabella, so I had to pay separately but the workers gave us our drinks while we were in Cafe Isabella. They take orders at the door but you can ask to sit inside (very limited but there's also outdoor seating). It's not too clear, but they also have specials posted inside the cafe. The cafe is pretty eccentrically decorated. I spent around $17 including tax and tip per burrito, bit expensive but always down to support local restaurants.
I was excited to try this place because it has been really hyped up and I thought it was just okay. I ordered the farmers burrito, with no rice (because I typically don't like rice in burritos, most of theirs had rice in them). It was pretty small and soggy but the taste was pretty good. It came with a side of chips. This was $15.95 before tax. I also ordered a house coffee, small, which was $3.50. Overall it was decent but it didn't wow me. There are 3 small tables inside and 3 outside. I came early on a Tuesday so there weren't that many people but around lunch time after 12 pm is when more people started coming in.

This is a wonderful family-owned business offering great quality at very fair prices; especially impressive given how hard it is to find a burrito under $10, particularly for students. The service exceeded expectations: extremely friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. This is absolutely a place that deserves a 20%+ tip.
We stopped by Cafe Isabella after moving into our new apartment and we are so thankful and excited to have this gem in our neighborhood! This is a family run cafe and you can taste the love in the food! Huge portions, fresh ingredients, and even homemade salsa! We got the chance to speak with the owner and she made us feel welcomed and we can't wait to continue supporting this cafe! They also own a juice shop next door with delicious healthy smoothies, juices, and food as well. We also got a smoothie to enjoy with our breakfast and it was just perfect.
We found this place after the lines near our hotel were too long, so we decided to ride the cable car up to the cable car museum. Cafe Isabella is perfect. The prices are very reasonable. The food is absolutely delicious. You can get anything from a giant breakfast burrito to an açai bowl or smoothie next-door, with many different options for chai, Matcha, just about anything you want. The owners are very friendly. Will definitely come here again!
The cutest cafe ever. The neighborhood feel of blues, trees, trolley rides, the ambiance is mellow and sweet. The sound of birds singing nearby. Just love The hand crafted breakfast selections. My favorite is the student burrito with egg / cheese and avocado. The best way to start the day.

We got the bagel isa special and the farmers burrito. Both were a little pricey but super filling and satisfying! The bagel had cream cheese and ham and bacon so it was quite rich, but I liked the addition of veggies to add freshness. The farmers burrito was very filling as well, as it had both rice and potatoes. Not as much sausage in the filling but lots of egg. Had a few tables for outdoor seating! Very friendly and patient owners. I was quite indecisive about what to order but they were very nice :) The food only took about 10 minutes to be ready.
After passing by on a Sunday morning and seeing the long lines, we couldn't resist the curiosity of knowing the secret sauce that attracts such a large crowd. Cafe Isabella is a quaint store primarily featuring take-out, is family-run, and has a breakfast menu containing bagels, sandwiches, and coffees. Because it is family-run, our simple order of an egg and cheese bagel was placed behind the long queue of waiting customers - so we ended up waiting 30 minutes. The bagel itself was nice. By 10 am, they had already run out of their Everything Bagels! So we resorted to a simple Sesame egg and cheese - the ingredients seemed fresh, and the bagel itself was as delightful as an egg and cheese combination can taste.

One of my favorite businesses in Nob Hill. I always get the Best Friend's burrito which is delicious. The owner is super sweet and service is great. It can get crowded on the weekends though, I would recommend calling ahead. The space itself is very small, there's only a little bit of room outside. Sometimes I will sit outside or take the food to go. read more
This small, family-run place packs a big punch and is a neighborhood gem! I love their drinks and breakfast burritos. On the burritos side--I've enjoyed the chorizo, best friends, Mexican, and country burritos. Re. coffee--I've enjoyed their chai, Hojicha latte, Salted maple iced latte (seasonal), and Azteca mocha. Take the cable car here or maybe the 1 bus. Parking seems like it'd be a pain (but I always walk here.) Seating is minimal, but you can take your provisions to nearby Huntington Park or Ina Coolbrith for good views. Service is wonderful. I keep coming back and there's often a line! Prices are reasonable and portions are large. read more

Delicious bagels at a reasonable price. We were headed to the Cable Car Museum and stopped at this cozy cafe nearby. So glad we did. My kids loved the bagels with avocado, and my husband enjoyed the Mexican breakfast burrito with hot salsa. Hilda and her daughter Isabella were very friendly, and we hope to see them next time we visit San Francisco. ¡Gracias! read more

Very cute spot. THE WAIT Very busy on a Saturday in December around 11:45am, not that many seats, as there are just a few first come first serve small tables on the sidewalk. We were surprised there was seating for 5-6 inside; unclear if no one knew about these tables, or everyone just wanted to be outside. Short line to order, but most people are standing around waiting for their food, which took a good 10-15 minutes. PARKING Parking is not that easy. We got a spot a block away, but it was 2 hour parking til 6pm on Saturdays. We risked it and parked for 3 hours, no ticket. FAMILY-FRIENDLINESS Not specifically in the sense that there were no high chairs or boosters, and it was mostly a young professional crowd. However, my kids were welcome and at home, and they enjoyed the cute decor. * Farmers Burrito ($13.95) - 4 stars Very hearty and filling. The salsa on the chips is quite spicy! Others in our group got croissants and bagels. They were fresh and soft. FYI, I saw packaging for Kirkland smoked salmon in the trash (that stuff isn't bad or anything, but just in case you're expecting fresh caught salmon or something). The bathroom isn't usually open to the public but the owner was nice and let my toddlers use it. The access is very narrow and you walk through the tiny kitchen to a tinier bathroom, and you have to wash your hands in the kitchen sink. Worked out fine, better than nothing! read more

Fantastic local breakfast/brunch spot on Taylor & Jackson. Prices are low in context of where you are; I highly recommend the Student burrito & the Rise & Shine breakfast sandwich on croissant. Super quick & accommodating service right at the door, whether you want to sit down or take it to-go; very friendly & proactive staff. Very little inside seating, but otherwise very cozy! read more
TLDR: I did my research before coming here so my expectations were admittedly high for my visit... and this place solidly met those sky high expectations! They summed it up perfectly after we ate and paid -- these burritos are made with love and you can taste it. Come here if you like saucy, piping hot burritos plus a free serving of nachos on the side. You'll see another cute cafe next door, which is also owned by the same family, that serves healthy smoothies, protein shakes, and super unique / different sandwiches that all look absolutely delicious. ------ FOOD: What we got: * I'm sure all the burritos are fantastic, but we tried the Country burrito (5/5) without rice and bacon and it was creamier/cheesier than any other burrito I've ever had. * There was a very generous amount of meat (sausage and ham) in there * The burrito came out piping hot and even 30 minutes later the tin foil was able to keep the other half of the burrito steaming * The nachos were crispy and were a great textural addition to the softer burrito. Not a ton of toppings on the nachos but that's ok, especially if you get their hot sauce for $1 (note, it's pretty spicy) What else they have: * They serve lots of different burritos here, and when we asked for slight customizations (e.g. no rice or bacon) they were able to do that for us easily since everything is made to order * They also have breakfast sandwiches on bagels, croissants (+$1), english muffins, and bread * Next door is their sister store full of healthy options such as smoothies (keto and not), protein shakes, and really unique sandwiches like kimchi toast and Hawaiian paninis ------ ENVIRONMENT: * When we came on a drizzly day, their indoor seating was open and could probably seat ~8 people inside among 2-3 small tables. * There are also ~4 small tables set up outside the cafe with 2 chairs each * You'll probably wait in line at the front door of the establishment where the owner will take your order and then come out with your food, especially if the indoor seating is full * It's quite small inside so if you come during a popular time (~10 am on a weekend) there likely won't be too many seats available * Lots of random parking around this neighborhood area ------ SERVICE: * All the women who were working in the cafe were so kind and accommodating. They always had huge smiles on their faces, they knew the regulars really well, and they made sure we had everything we needed to have a nice meal read more

This is such a neighborhood gem! It's family-owned and I had the pleasure of meeting the mother and daughter. For food, they had many good breakfast options! We ended up getting the Kimchi toast along with some juices on one side, and the. A pizza bagel with extra cheese and salami from the other side. The staff are very friendly and I love the outdoor tables and chairs outside. It was so nice to eat out in the sidewalk on a sunny day. Definitely need to go back! read more

Such an electric vibe with the most wholesome workers. There is seating available inside and outside. Food selection includes burritos, breakfast sandwiches, and right next door the sister owns a healthy foods options. The burritos are big and sizeable for breakfast. Packed with flavour, not super spicy but they have sauce on the side if you want that. Comes with chips! This is a place we come back to time and time again. Worth the walk up and down the big hill. everything is made to order at family-owned Cafe Isabella. the breakfast burritos are filling, and if you eat there, they include chips and salsa. (if you order to go, you get the chips only.) my bf said the hot sauce used to be free, but now it's $1, which we don't mind. be careful, it's HOT. there are only a few tables outside -- i'm not sure why they don't open up the indoor seating when it's busy -- and you pretty much clean up after yourself, so turnover is usually quick. we like the farmers and best friends burritos, which are $14.95 each before tax. they come PIPING HOT. like so hot it's still steaming by the last bite even when it's windy out. what is this sorcery!!! they also have a breakfast sandwich menu, where most things are under $10 i think, but we stick to the burritos. read more
Cafe Isabella is a hidden gem in Nob hill!! It's tucked away between houses but the service was great, everyone was friendly and when it's nice out, you can sit outside! Cafe Isabella has a quick and delicious breakfast burrito selection and I will be returning! read more

I know this compact Nob Hill cafe has quite a following for their burritos and breakfast sandwiches. One look at the robust selection on their vertical chalkboard menus convinced me that they must be good at them (photo: https://bit.ly/41wUUyk). Unfortunately I had breakfast by the time I came upon this cafe, so I was more focused on their caffeine choices. The $7 Matcha Latte was definitely worth a pit stop (photo: https://bit.ly/3o6MtLI). There were only three chairs available on the sidewalk, so I was lucky I got to sit down in one of them to enjoy it. Hopefully next time I'll work up an appetite scaling Nob Hill for one of their breakfast sandwiches. One question though, am I too old to order the $8.75 Student Burrito?
