This spot is what I'd call the Cheers of the Southside lol. It is spacious, plenty of seating. It's been around for years so it does have a old school feel, nothing modern about it at all. They have video games, TVs, a pool table and a full bar. The service was good, When walking in and had to order then sat down... I believe it's done like that for the bar side, but if you're dining in a server will come to take your order(i do believe) Each time I've gotten wings and they where pretty good and the drinks where cool also. This review is overdue. This use to be my favorite hot wing place for the past 15 years. New management took over and the quality has declined. My last time dining in, my toddler was playing at the table, and as I attempted to get him, I saw dead roaches behind the booth. I asked the server about that and she acted surprised. I told her that I don't feel comfortable eating at the establishment at this point. The food finally came and my wife decided to try the wings and as she bit into the wing, you can tell the chicken wings were old. We immediately called the server and told her we will not be eating this food, and will be leaving. She apologized, and said the owner tells staff to dilute the wing sauce, and things have been different since the owner, Carlos has taken over. This place used to be the BOMB! It has really went downhill since being under new management. The food is definitely not what it used to be. Not only did they raise prices, but their portions are MUCH smaller and not as flavorful. My parents loved this place for the chicken wings and now they really hate it. The last 3 times we've given them another chance, it's always been blown. They've missed something, overcharge for simple sauces, mess up on requests and simply just don't seem like they care. After more than ten years of being a patron of this establishment i can honestly state if the owner is not present then the staff and service are substandard the food is lukewarm warm and comes out in dribbles first wings ten minutes later potatoes and thirty minutes after that they try to bring toast that is not even texas toast no ill pass. The food here is really good. The hot wings are a bit pricey to me but delicious. All the other plates are solid good food. The fried shrimp plate is large enough to share if you get salad as your side. The shrimp was fried to perfection. The atmosphere is very laid back and friendly. When they did they left again to ask a question and never returned. We waited another 5 min before leaving. I love this location out of the others because the good and the service is great. Everytime I go granted it is a different waitress but that's the nature of the business. The staff is nice and the cooks are great and clean. The only thing I would like to see improved is the lighting in the parking lot toward the back. I've been coming here for years. The food is always great. The staff is nice. This location doesn't really have air conditioning. They usually have this big fan blowing in. They have good lunch specials. They also have different daily specials that is available after 5pm. They have a lot of different wing sauces. I like most of them. We were trying to find a walk in restaurant at lunchtime and being most things in the area only have drive through. This was the first time in a few years since we had visited. The restaurant has been at this location for over 25 years, but what I read is under new management. We were craving hot wings, we got that along with fries and fried mushrooms. Both of them were good. The wings were another thing. They were overcooked and dried out. The waitress was super and gave us another order, but they were the same. It appeared maybe the wings may have been pre-cooked for quick service at lunchtime and just warmed up and the sauce put on. As we passed another customer while walking towards the register, a customer was talking on the phone to someone stating her wings were dried out also. While waiting for the cashier to pay, I noticed a roach walking across the counter and told her about it. She said they had come in one day at 8 am and cleaned the restaurant all day long. I would like thank Richard, the owner for being so cool. During the Super Bowl they bought a cake for the patrons and we had a party. There is always something to do at the Cafe. On Thursday there is the Open Mic, Friday has the karaoke, and both Sat and Sun have both poker and football. Richard designs his own wings. Make sure you get the wings wet with the Richard sauce. I should give them 1 star. I gave them 2 because the waitress was very nice and apologetic. The food was horrible! My wife got her food and I got mine about 10 minutes later. The food was very bad and the beer was warm. The wings were small and just bad, very bad. My steak sandwich was soggy. The bottom of the sandwich fell out when I picked it up. Back in the day this place use to be the place. Now it's just withering away. Things have really changed for instance I order a 20 piece all flats with a side order of fries half Lemon pepper and other half was medium. Looks can be deceiving some were warm some were cold and hard the re fried look call the waitress over told her the issue she takes the medium which was hard and cold. The wing's come back hot fresh and tasty. I then notice I have a mix order which means drums and flats which is not what I order and was paying for. She then said I'm not going to charge you the up charge for flats, that's my fault, OK cool. I then walk to the front too pay my bill which was $30 dollars and some change and a freaking Roach was coming across the counter where I'm paying my bill. I asked the waitress is that a damn roach she said yes Ma'am. Now remind you where I'm paying the bill is at the bar. I instantly got mad and disgusted, and she over scream (peanut butter) which means or code for roaches and the flipping manager wasn't answer her until I said u don't want me to say what the problem is he better answer you. I have been eating wings for decades and these were by far the most expensive wings I've ever bought. I bought a 20 piece flat only lemon pepper, and they came to $19 and some change. Normally there is a charge for flat only, but this was still too much money. The wings were perfect in size and they were crunchy, but they were a bit bland. I've been coming to cafe hot wings for almost a year,I was also a faithful customer to the other cafe hot wings on Hwy 85,that's was until I called in my order and notice a roach in the cup of sprite that came with my meal,I immediately call back and spoke to Tom...Of course he denied ever seeing roaches at there restaurant...So I was told about this cafe hot wings,I was really please up until today, My serever came to the table She,took our order and within 5min she brought out our food,I said that was really quick,and then I asked are these fresh because they looked a bit over cooked,She said yes...When my husband and I bit into the wings they was hard and dry..the fries wasn't any better,I think they ran out of the steak fries they usually have because they had shoe string potatos.I told the server that these wings were old and had be refried..I told her to tell the cook the food was horrible..It only takes 10min to fry wings that pissed me off...The server which claimed to also be a manager there, said next time when I place an order I should tell them I want my food cooked fresh.....I'm like You fucking IDIOT, who wants old food that u cooked earlier ,and dropped it back in the oil...My husband paid For our food but I stopped up front and spoke to the Asian Lady who I thought was the owner,she Tried to act Surprised, and her Response was Something must be wrong with the fryer...WOW read more
