Came here for a hot latte on a chilly day and it hit the spot. Barista was friendly. Definitely want to come back to try out the grilled cheese and tomato soup!

They have a pretty good menu, I just felt that some things were lacking in consistency or flavor. The pastrami sandwich was a little dry and not hot all the way through. Chicken sandwich special had a good concept but the sauce was oily and overwhelming. You can sit outside which is nice and the staff were very friendly. If you're on the island, it's not a bad place to stop!

We stopped in yesterday for a late lunch and we're so glad we did! Tip: many businesses and eateries in Winslow are closed on Monday; not Cafe Hitchcock. Service was warm, friendly and quick. The food is unique even if the item has a non unique name. We ordered non unique Ham and Cheese Sandwich and Pastrami with an Irish coffee to take the chill from outdoors off. The sandwiches were amazing my pastrami was on real Jewish rye piled high with lean tasty pastrami just enough sauerkraut to add zing and not soak the rye bread. A pickle or two and some fancy fantastic sauce. I have never had better or even as good. Jeanie raved about her ham and cheese on focaccia. Both sandwiches come with delicious potato chips we assume made in-house. Ambience is noisy cafe with lots of locals chatting! What a perfect setting for a perfect cafe meal.

Omg. Don't ever order the grilled cheese sandwich. They have no grill. The bread had to be sent back because it wasn't toasted at all. I guess they have one of those roller ovens. 1 piece of cheese, not grilled bread...22.00 but it had 2 pieces of bacon. Rip off!. I did have the pastrami sandwich which was good but the homemade Rye bread was too thick for the sandwich. People got served that sat down after us. Just not a great experience.

Cute atmosphere and good food. I got the bacon and blue burger and my friend got the Tony soprano sandwich. Both were good portions and very flavorful!

We decided to end our night at a nearby bar-- just so happened that we happened upon Cafe Hitchcock on a drag night. STOKED seeing local queens, I've heard amazing things about how diverse the Seattle drag scene is. Also, the drinks here are fire~~~ We walked in on a Saturday evening and somehow found a table for our group of 4. Pretty lively + great music. Vibe is divey. Pleasantly surprised by the table service-- bartender took our order minutes after us settling in. WINSLOW'S WAY: Ok this is juice. Love it. I could drink this all day-- the most refreshing, minty, fruity cocktail ever. We got to catch Hannah Mia Joint St. James and Clara Voyance performing a few numbers. The girls killlllled it. Love to support queer-friendly biz. Will have to be back for their brunch and actual food sometime!

This was such a cute spot on the island! The drinks and food were delicious and the service was great. It felt like we were in a Hallmark movie bc we sat by the window and could see the fall leaves and people walking by on the sidewalk.

This place was everything--great service and great food! We took the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge, and this was our first stop. We came in to get a snack and drinks. The bartender was great; it's so cute and quaint in this café. This area give me small town vides which I love.

    Fried Chicken Sandwich (Nashville style)

Took a little trip to Bainbridge Island with my daughter, and after a day of walking and shopping, and seeing the sights we found this little gem. Cozy, inviting, and the perfect spot to end the day. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious. I had the tomato soup and the smash burger OKC style (onions shmooshed onto patty). My daughter had the crispy chicken sandwich, Nashville style. All came out properly cooked, on time, and hot. It was delicious. The rest of the menu looked good. One drawback is the menu has no dessert. That said I recommend this spot to cap off a nice day on the island

Tomato Soup + Cafe Salad (soup / salad portion) Chi-town sandwich

Absolutely loved this cozy spot on Bainbridge Island! The tomato soup was rich and comforting, perfect for the partly cloudy day. The café salad was fresh and crisp with tomato soup, a great light option. In addition, we had the Chi-Town sandwich--house-roasted beef with melted provolone, giardiniera, and aioli. Our waitress was spot on, on explaining flavors and textures, and you could taste the quality in every bite. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area! Not depicted - the Bloody Mary - pretty good! I give it a solid 8.5/10 (wasn't a fan of the pickled cauliflower, but overall the mix and presentation was great!) Pro tip: your waiter/waitress has the ability to take your coffee order for the cafe attached.

The dining room had subdued lighting, with candles on the tables and jazz piped in. My wife was a cheap date and ordered the shrimp Po' Boy. My daughter went with a medium-rare filet, and I went big with a medium-rare rib-eye steak. Salads are not offered with the steak entrees, which was surprising at these prices, but did come with veggies and fries, think skinny fries. After a longish wait, our meals arrived. The steaks were excellently prepared and yummy. My wife enjoyed her shrimp as well. We all decided the fries could have been better, and the veggies, squash, and broccoli were just so-so. Our server was fine but not particularly engaging. I feel the prices are too high for what was delivered. At $69, my rib-eye should have included a small house salad and bread, but it didn't.

Stopped in for a bite of dinner after we were torn between another local pub (near Safeway) or here. We both had such fond memories of Docs and that led us to our choice. Got seated quickly but it took kinda forever to get even water delivered much less a drink order placed. We decided to make our dinner order too because of the drink delay. Hubby was too happy that they had his fav beer - black butte porter -available so her ordered that. My Chardonnay was from WA which is not my fav but it was a choice of $11/glass or $20/glass for an overpriced, under-tasting CA option. Our dinner came almost too quickly. 3 piece fish and chips. First impression: wow, that's hardly any fries. Second impression: wow, how long have these been sitting out. You can always depend on Docs fries to be amazing but not this time. They were limp, soggy and just about inedible. We did let our waiter know and he did reorder us a batch but they came almost at the end of our dinner tho. BUT these were the fries we rave about at Docs... hot, crispy, real potatoes. Yum! Now the fish: the cod itself was perfect. Thick, fresh, hot, moist but I don't know what this 'crusting' is. It's like it's been rolled in seasoned cracker crumbs then fried sure it's crispy but it's like it's encased in edible armor. Not a fan. The batter they used to have was so superior to this. I was disappointed to be honest. Upon paying and leaving hubby says: well, we won't do that again. It's too bad because it was such a regular hangout for us with my folks who just about everyone knew by name. It's also my first time back since they passed (2021) so I really was missing them. Not the same on many levels. Even the crack sauce wasn't 'right.' I've never left any behind in the cup before...I did this time.

They seem to have a housemade veggie burger on the menu year round, but it's on a brioche bun so if you want to get it vegan it just comes without a bun...
