Cafe Espresso inside the Peppermill Casino offers really good coffee and a variety of pastries. Today, I tried their Green Tea Gelato, and it was absolutely delicious. Great customer service!

Sometimes when you want something a little sweet, this is the perfect place. All the pastries are good, and the drinks if made right.. Picked up the little coffee cake and a few donuts..

Basically this is a Starbucks knockoff that's even more expensive. Cafe Espresso is convenient if you want coffee or a pastry. It isn't even a cafe but it's just a counter to order and then you take it with you. A convenient place but they charge like it's fine dining. The basic drinks and food you can find in any coffee shop. It actually isn't even that fast. Only once I got something from here and it took forever. There was only one other person in line. Expensive as fuck. This is simple gas station quality coffee with basic sweeteners. It's about $5 for a medium. They make you pay extra for any sweetener. Food options like the pastries look like they're from a store and were frozen. It's about $5 for a pastry. They aren't worth anything like that. Gelato is actually made fresh. It sometimes might have non dairy sorbets. The portions are expensive and small though.

I stopped by here twice during our stay at the Peppermill. The first morning, I just got a simple Mocha with no flavor shot. The second morning, I again ordered a Mocha but this time with a shot of white chocolate. Honestly, I wish I didn't. The straight up mocha was decent. Not bad. The white chocolate addition made it WAY too sweet for even me. Maybe it's because I'm used to Starbuck's version of the white chocolate mocha? I don't know. I just know this one was ridiculously sweet. So if you get the mocha, just get it straight up (unless you're into that much sweetness). Speaking of Starbucks, the prices here are right in line with them. This isn't surprising as pretty much everything in the Peppermill is expensive. They also serve pastries, donuts, smoothies, and house made gelato here (by the pint as well). I have tried the gelato at Biscotti's and can vouch for how good it is (the cherry flavor, specifically).

Good quick stop for coffee in the morning. Friendly staff. No coffee garnishes. One must ask for sugar, stir stick, cream.... Covid related. No doubt.

Breakfast panini $10. Pricey for the quality :-/

Cafe Espresso is in the Peppermill casino next to the hotel checkin counter. But don't let the name fool you. It is not a real cafe. It's a counter that sells baked goods (muffins, cookies, cupcakes, doughnuts, croissants, cinnamon rolls), paninis, espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, cold bottled juices, milk, bottled water, Red Bull, fountain sodas, gelato, salads, and sandwiches. The seating area is shared casino space. It's open 24 hours. The only other eatery that is open 24 hours is the sit down enclosed wait service restaurant Cafe Milagro. Cafe Espresso prices are pricey for the product. Hey they have a captive audience. Since I was staying at the hotel, I wanted to grab a quick breakfast nosh at the casino before I rushed off for my morning activities. I choose Cafe Espresso. I ordered a breakfast panini (it came with a bag of chips). $10. Ouch. It was dealers choice on the chips. I didn't even know what brand they carried. They gave me Lays BBQ flavored chips. I would have preferred to pick my own chip option. But I did get to choose my sandwich bread options: white, wheat, and sourdough. The panini was ok, not bad nor great. The baked goods looked darn delicious. The customer service was friendly. The service was not fast though. There was no sense of urgency. So if you are in a rush, I recommend ordering grab n go items.

What they call a grilled panini. Cold cheese and ham.

I ordered a grilled ham panini with mushrooms and cheese and my husband ordered a grilled ham panini with avocado and cheese on sourdough bread. I know what a panini should be but what we received, after waiting quite a while, was a ham and cheese sandwich on very lightly toasted bread. The ham and cheese was cold and certainly not grilled or pressed. It was something a very busy mom might throw together for her kids' lunch. If it wasn't for the fact that we paid $31 for these sandwiches and one bottle of water, I wouldn't complain. But really, this is not acceptable.

It is my husband birthday, so we spent the weekend in Reno, Nevada. This was the perfect place to have coffee and dessert and time of day. I wanted to get a cake for my husband birthday. I could not pick just one. So, I picked chocolate cover strawberries, carrot cake, and cheesecake. The dessert were perfect soft and moist, Thanks girls.

Weak Soy Latte. It doesn't even taste like Soy Milk.

Weak. Decided to grab a couple of Gelato and one Soy Latte (75 cents extra for Soy Milk) while waiting for the wifey. There are 2 "young adults" (one male, one female) working here and both of them are inefficient, inexperienced and lack costumer service skills. The line started to pile up and they don't even bother to acknowledge the patrons. I must've stood there for several minutes before they started taking my orders. They both lack organizational skills and there is no teamwork. Example: Male takes my order, punches the price on the cash register and leaves to go to the back. Female takes my order, punches the total on a separate cash register and begins scooping the gelato. After what felt like an eternity, she hands us the gelato and goes to the back where the male was. It appears he's making a sandwich and she also starts making a sandwich. I didn't order a sandwich. Time goes on and the line gets longer and I'm still waiting for my coffee while the gelato is melting. I don't see anyone making my latte, and the female must've realized I was waiting forever now. She gives me a quick glance and I see her pour something on a cup that must've been sitting on the counter from a previous order. Sure enough, she hands it to me after what felt like an eternity. There ain't no way that is Soy Latte since I didn't see anyone making a fresh batch. One sip of the cup and confirmed it ain't no Soy Latte, and it's weak as hell. It taste like coffee-flavored water. Ugh...weak as hell.

My turkey panini is decent.. just not worth 10.83.. it can be improved by offering a complimentary side of salsa since the panini tastes a bit bland. I met an awesome guy that works in the pharmaceutical industry today since I noticed he was sweating it out on the treadmill also and he beat me the the workout center.. people here are super nice.. I don't ever wanna leave

Everything is lavender and purple, which happens to be my favorite color, so it already feels like home. I always order the same thing: an Americano with oat milk. It's smooth, rich, and never bitter, and the oat milk makes it perfectly creamy without feeling heavy. They make it right every single time. And I have to give a special shoutout to Sara. She is so sweet and always remembers my order, which makes it feel even more personal and welcoming. That kind of consistency and kindness really stands out. The vibe here is everything. The music is great, the energy is warm, and it's such a peaceful place to sit, think, journal, or meet up with someone. It's clean, beautifully designed, and you can tell they truly care about the experience. It was a spin on Dubai chocolate but made with white chocolate. My fiancee LOVED it! I tried it too and it was pretty good. Im just happy she liked it. Cute place with good vibes and friendly staff. We will be coming back and I will be trying the chai again.

It's the kind of place where you walk in "just to look" and somehow end up spending forever wandering through shelves of teas, spices, olive oils, and vinegars because there's always something new to smell or discover. The whole shop just has such a cozy, welcoming vibe. My absolute favorite is their Maui Wowie tea, especially iced in the summer. It's honestly become part of my routine whenever I'm on that side of town. If I'm heading over to Trader Joe's, there's a very good chance I'm stopping here first for an iced tea before I shop. Their chai selection is also incredible. Everything tastes high quality without feeling pretentious. Beyond tea, they have such a great variety of spices, infused olive oils, and vinegars. The oils and vinegars are especially dangerous if you love good bread and dipping plates because you'll immediately want to buy five of them. The staff has always been kind and helpful without hovering, answering any questions I had, and you can tell they genuinely care about the shop and the products they carry.

What a major local gem in Reno. It only took one visit for…read moreme to become a fan of this coffee shop/bar in Midtown. You can tell that a lot of thought and heart went into the place. The decor, the entertainment, the products all struck a chord with me. On one side - a super cute pour over/loose leaf tea shop with some records for sale. On the other - a cute bar and lounge area equipped with a vinyl player (Bring one in on a Monday for them to play). You have some house pants, checkered floors, and cool vinyl covers all over the walls that make for some great & hip atmosphere and vibes. Their restrooms, though small, and clean and cool. Their pour overs are so flavorful, strong, and made with beans grounded on your visit. I love that they're flavored and sweetened in a way that allows the coffee to shine. If you're into sweeter drinks, ask for a bit more sweetner or add in a brown raw sugar packet yourself from the straw station. I hear their chocolate pour over is a hit. Matchas - prepared in a similar fashion. Slightly sweetned with subtle flavorings. I tried their carrot cake matcha today and really enjoyed the housemade syrup they used to flavor it with. I also love that they offer loose leaf teas. Their chai was nice, fragrant and great with a little sweetner and milk. Shelby over at the bar area was sooo patient with explaining their menu and suggested a isla bonita pineapple shrub drink for a non alcoholic option. Similar to their other drinks on the coffee side, it was tamed in sugar yet still fun and flavorful. I really enjoyed the tang from the apple cider and the spice from the tajin chili powder as a contrasting flavor. Double check their website for bar and coffee shop hours as they differ from one another. And follow them on Instagram for updates on seasonal specials & themed gatherings. A lot of cool local DJs spin here for special events and parties during the holidays. Tip: sit next to the pour over station next to the menu. It's so entertaining, especially with Sydney working the station (thanks so much for the chat and entertainment. Honestly one of the friendliest baristas I've ever met in Reno). Both bars are set up in a way that allows for meeting others and socializing. Check it out. It's a good time. Notes *Catch live jazz music on Wednesdays here for free. *free street & neighborhood parking *bagels & cream cheese available at the coffee shop *they have fun with their seasonal drink specials. I dig it.
