So yesterday I decided to make a side trip over to Nova Cafe, a place I had been meaning to give a…read moretry, but never really had a chance. It was too far out of my way for convenience. In a town that has no shortage of cafes and pick-me-ups, Nova faces some stiff competition. Let's break it down. The building it's in looks almost like a house. If one were to look at it at first glance and not know any better, they might think it was someone's home. This is further evidenced by the fact that the porch looks homey, and the front door looks like what a front door might look like for something as assuming as a house. You have a ramp you could walk up on if you towards the back a little on the left. Even steeping inside, you could mistake this for a house in a vacuum of space. Only the order booth gives a clear indication that this is a cafe. But this just goes to show just how well they pull off the cozy, homey vibe. It feels like the kind of place where you could cook a batch of homemade chocolate cookies, serve it with some nice, cold milk, and we'd have a feast. The people who do work here are nice and helpful as well. So why the four? Well, even though the panini-pressed melt I had ordered was great and the bread it was on had a great crisp to it, you have to remember that there are a lot of cafes in Wilton. Because of this fact, this place needs to have something that makes it stand out in terms of what they have on menu, and so far the only thing that truly stands out is the ambiance. I do want to come back and try their other stuff, and I did enjoy the Mocha Madness I had from them. It's still a fair bit out of my way, so I don't know how often I will be able to come back, but I do want to give their other items a try.

All of the sweet pies, cookies, etc in the front display case look scrumptious! The manager was so kind and friendly, and such a pleasure to speak with. Excellent customer service. He also pointed out the savory pies in the freezer...savory pies! I so want to try the Austalian meat pie and the Philly cheese steak pie; they both come in the mini size as well. Brilliant! We walked out with 4 mini pies: blueberry, blueberry crumb, apple and a pumpkin, along with some peanut butter and butterball cookies (made with walnuts) and chive and cheddar rolls. The mini pies are really a generous portion. EVERY SINGLE Item was incredibly fresh tasting and mouthwatering, no exaggeration. I love that all is hand made with such care about quality ingredients. We will be back often and highly recommend. Parking in strip mall lot shared with other business. You can also order online.

The croissant was super flaky. I also enjoyed some of the other sweet items. The lady was kind enough to throw in some free items too! I would recommend this place for your local fresh bread bakery (huge selection from sourdoughs to multigrain) & for the friendliest of staff (trust me some of the southern ct bakeries lack this)!!!

It was quite busy when we arrived on a late Sunday a.m. in January. Tables were filled and there was a line for ordering. We decided on a tomato cheddar soup and the Churn it Up sandwich with Havarti and provolone. We were told the wait would be 40 mins, giving us the option to wait it out or go elsewhere. We stuck it out and the food was at our table in less than 20 mins. The sandwiches were ooey gooey toasted cheesiness and paired perfectly with the creamy tomato soup. It came with a lighty dressed arugula salad. I had a freshly brewed ice tea and my dining partner got a Dr. Brown's soda. The breakfast rush was soon over but people were still coming in to eat and grab take out while we enjoyed our meals. They also offer beers and wines and hot chocolate. The entire place was very clean, including the restrooms, although I did not see any table wiping going on. Staff were smiling and polite. Plenty of parking in lot shared with other business.
