So called cortado. Bitter. Ugly. Careless.
Jason M.

I reviewed this place years ago when it first opened. It wasn't a good experience. Today I went back. Open-minded, hoping for improvement. This is not a coffee shop. It's a daycare with pulsing nightclub music. A truly horrendous combination. I ordered a cortado. I was served a - I don't even know what to call it. A thoughtless, careless, and hideous drink in a cup. It taste tasted like it looked. Terrible. I threw it in the garbage. My wife, who is considerably more forgiving than I, threw hers away as well after one sip. And we exited. Congratulations.

Smoothie bowl

It's always a treat to come here. Hands down my favorite smoothie bowl in the area - I love the blue spirulina option with the vanilla honey, fruit, and granola. Great coffee and the pastries in the case are gigantic - it's hard to pick one, they all look so good! The service is friendly enough. Lines are out the door on weekends, but things move pretty quickly.

My coworker took my 7 year old son here last week without me and introduced him to an açaí bowl. I wasn't sure if he would like it and I was quickly informed he devoured it. It was a coconut base with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and Nutella drizzle. He had a little left so he let me take a bite and it was AMAZING! I have been back twice this week for pastries for the office and iced chai lattes and avocado toast for myself. The food is incredible and fresh. The people are so friendly. I am not sure if it is the owner who has waited on me twice this week but she is lovely! I'll be back tomorrow!

Their Acai bowls, smoothies, coffee, pastries, and yogurt parfaits are the best! There's a lot of seating and the baristas and cashiers are so friendly. I had the best shaken espresso ever.

Dragonfruit bowl

Stopped by here for a quick bite with my friend on a Sunday morning. Tons of options for toast or a bowl to your liking. I got a sangria hibiscus iced tea which was perfect and not sweet. I opted for the dragonfruit bowl which came with fresh bananas, strawberries, granola, coconut flakes and peanut butter drizzle. The bowl was plenty and delicious to the last bite. Would definitely stop by here for a light breakfast or mid day snack while shopping in downtown Westport. Staff was friendly and the orders did not take long at all to make. Plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating.

My boyfriend and I went here over the weekend for a quick bite to eat. I would suggest just getting food and smoothies here, as the coffee is awful. The coffee is grainy and really has no flavor. I got the pumpkin spice latte that lacked any pumpkin flavoring or latte flavor. My boyfriend got the mocha latte which additionally had no flavor of mocha. I ended up spilling out my drink because i couldn't finish it - at the bottom of the cup was clumps of coffee grains! I was appalled especially spending $6-7 on a small cup of coffee. The staff as well was nothing to rave about. They do their job and move onto the next customer. The inside is cute but very small for the amount of people this place brings in. I'll definately be going to Starbucks instead.

Always has the most delicious bowls and love their seasonal drinks! wait time tends to be a little long but ends up being worth it! It's usually pretty crowded so we always take ours to go :)

Stopped here for a quick coffee and bite to eat while shopping and exploring since it was within the area we were in. There was a pretty long line before us. There were a few things on the menu that had interested me but pretty limited when it came to food. I ended up ordered the cheddar scallion scone that was displayed and an iced French vanilla cappuccino. Both were pretty good, I just wished the scones would be heated it up. It was a decent cafe experience.

GG & Joe has solid smoothies, smoothie bowls, and quick bites like avocado toast and biscotti. The cafe has a chill and trendy aesthetic. It's a great option in Downtown Westport to catch up with friends and then shop or walk by the water!

Chai latte was amazing. Açaí bowl was delicious, and the avocado toast was great. It's in a convenient spot and the service was friendly.

Average fast coffee shop. Decent pastries. Good location. Nothing to write home about but they'll pour you a decent cup of coffee.

Food and coffee are excellent. Service is very good. I would turn down the music a little bit so people can speak and hear one another.

Terrain Café is one of those places where the atmosphere is just as much a part of the experience…read moreas the food. It is located right next to their beautiful nursery and plant shop, and it's a really nice spot to grab lunch and then browse around for plants before or after. I ordered their crab flatbread, and the first thing that surprised me was how generous they were with the crab meat, mixed in with cabbage and charred asparagus. The asparagus had a nice char and flat and the cabbage added a nice crunch and texture. The flat bread itself was a little crunch which was interesting and I love how it wasn't overly heavy or rich. The flat bread came with a side salad with really fresh greens. It was so fresh and crunchy that my 9 year old son stole it from me and proceeded to devour the entire salad himself. Also, the setting is what really makes Terrain special. Being surrounded by plants and greenery, with the nursery and shop right next door, gives the whole experience a very relaxed and inviting feel. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend a little extra time after lunch wandering around and looking at all the plants and other items they have to offer. Our server was friendly although it was slow at times but we figured out it was the coffee bar that was slow. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch there and would be happy to return again when we are in the area.

The menu is pretty stale, and they were out of 3 of the entrees. The food was ok. We got the hummus - it tasted fine, not much better than store bought, and the pita or whatever it was was burnt. The grain bowl was also just ok - the chicken has a hospital or airplane quality to it. And I guess this is more of a reflection of the kind of restaurant Terrain has become, but it felt like a daycare. Kids everywhere screaming. Parents not doing much to stop it. I get it, kids can be hard. But nobody cares anymore. Food all over the floor, shrieks echoing in the small dining room. Oof, it was just not a great time.

I tried the tortilla española with sun dried tomato dressing and it was delicious (too hungry to snap photos) haha! The americano was smooth and strong. Unfortunately, today's visit was the final straw, and we've decided we won't be coming back. Since changing the name from Studio Cafe to Tailored Home Cafe (located inside the interior design shop), something seems to have changed--perhaps new ownership or management. The portions are noticeably smaller, the food quality isn't what it used to be, and it's hard to justify paying Westport prices for an experience that no longer matches the cost. It's disappointing because this used to be one of our favorite spots, and we've visited well over 20 times over the years. I genuinely hope they can get back to what made them so successful in the first place, because we'd love to see them return to the quality that kept us coming back for so long.
