This is the new location and concept from the old Dilli Heights that was located near Gastown. Nice vibe, it's kind of a blend of the bright modern "Yaletown" look and Indian aesthetics with the art on the walls. There are different seating options with traditional tables, high-tops, armchairs, and a window counter. Very clean.
They have a variety of street food and sort of modern/fusion Indian food on the menu, and also gelato.
For their food, I tried their veg cutlet wrap and the soya chaap sandwich. I really enjoyed both, both very flavourful. The wrap seemed like it was probably the healthier option but neither were greasy/heavy. Low spice level but full of flavour. The guy at the counter actually warned me that the chaap wasn't his favourite, but I really liked it, it was very flavourful. I did appreciate the recommendation though, I just know that I like chaap.
They have chai and coffee to drink, as well as a huge selection of soft drinks in the fridge. The chai comes from a machine but it's pretty good. I'd give them 5 stars if they made their own though! The convenience of the machine is you can choose from 3 flavours. The cardamom is strong while the masala chai seems sweeter and smoother. I really like that they have dirty chai (chai + espresso) on the menu - I've tried the Western-style dirty chai latte, but this is the first time I've tried it with Indian chai, and it's a nice unique taste!
The guys who work here are very friendly and helpful with recommendations. I used to like Dilli Heights but occasionally had problems with the service/atmosphere, so I'm happy that they're back with those issues seemingly resolved for now. I hope they can keep it up! read more
