This place has one of the best restrooms in the game. When I walked in my noise was greeted with the cleanest scent of the laundry variety, post cleaning and drying of course. If most establishment had the same standards as Cafe Delirium in term of sanitation and exceptionally freshness in restrooms, the world would be a much better place. Felt like I was in a Mr. Clean's closet. The water pressure game is kinda weak though, step it up! Release the hounds there's been plenty of rain in Gresham we aren't in a drought! Short version: I practically heard the F*R*I*E*N*D*S theme upon walking into this eclectically-styled local coffee house, and I was legitimately surprised when Gunther didn't take my order. Cafe Delirium hominifies the exact mental image you conjure when someone says they were "hanging in a coffee house." Cozy chairs and couches. Mis-matched furniture. Lamps. (So. many. lamps.) I kid you not - people were playing Yahtzee in one corner, holding a bible study in another, and a mommy group was descending upon the couches while toting their 2% vanilla chais and discussing the lack of mothers' rooms at PDX as I was leaving. It's more like a community living room than a cafe. And let's be honest, isn't this exactly what you want from your corner-of-main-street coffee house? It's as much about the meeting place as it is about the product, and dang if I didn't find the entire situation completely charming. This isn't the type of place you grab your joe to go, this is a place where you meet a friend, sit near a plug, and camp out all day. read more

Cuteness in Gresham? Yeps. This place is spacious and funkily decorated a la the coffee shops in the trendyhoods. Wifi, a large menu of specialty coffee drinks, a long tea list, smallish case of treats, Comfy chairs, tables, couches. I didn't catch the coffee roaster, apologies. My head has been filled with a gelatinous substance for days. The girls behind the counter were quick and friendly and the prices were pretty cheap. That is kind of how I think of Gresham, quick and cheap. But when you work out there, you have to find the gems where you can. read more

I have heard of Cafe Delirium, but the sweet balm of its existance was never a reality until I went there myself. I recently met a friend there for coffee. Neither of us had coffee, but that's okay. She had hot chocolate and I had hot apple cider. Yum. The first thing I noticed upon walking into this fine establishment was that it has a very large seating area. The second was that this large seating area was littered with couches and stuffed chairs. Very comfortable, but also not without the typical coffee-shop round tables with two or three chairs positioned around them here and there. It is a very nice atmosphere, located in downtown Gresham (which is just a fun, cute area anyway). This place truly is a great spot to just hang out, maybe do some unwinding with friends. Why only four stars, you ask? Well, that is because I was there in the middle of the day, and the place was completely packed. Granted, that only speaks to its attractiveness, but, despite it's comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, I typically go to a cafe to drink coffee and chat with friends. It's hard to have a serious conversation in the middle of a crowded room full of other people trying to have conversations. It's also a bit inconvenient to weave and push your way across the room just to get to the bathroom. But don't let my lack of a fifth star stand in your way of visiting this pleasant little place tucked away in downtown Gresham. I wish I could describe the retro, comfortable feel of this place, but I can't. So go check it out yourself. P.S. The friend that I met also had a problem with always running into people she went to high school with (as I read in Alyssa's review). Cafe Delirium is a cozy little coffee shop in the heart of downtown Gresham. Parking can be tough, but if you don't mind walking a short distance (mostly dependent on the weather) you'll be fine. The drinks were more expensive than I really thought they were worth, but they certainly beat Starbucks. I just had a yogurt parfait and tried a bit of some sort of blueberry flaxseed pastry that was fantastic. The shop was cozy with plenty of seating and lots of board games which unfortunately meant that there were children running amok, dropping game boards and throwing pieces as their parents chatted comfortably while ignoring them. It's usually fairly busy but still quiet enough to hold a conversation with someone. The staff was friendly and helpful, but I think I prefer coffee shops more coffee shop and less child playground. read more

They are ALWAYS packed, their coffee is sub-par (Dutch Bros does better) and their food menu is VERY limited and VERY overpriced. Like 6 bucks for a scone. Cafe D has it's good and bad points. The Good: I love the atmosphere. While it has turned into hip-central, that also makes it a great place to grab a drink, and probably run into someone that you know. It's a terrific place to meet up with friends, and catch up, or play board games, or whatever. the Bad: The coffee is always never the same. Sometimes burnt, sometimes too much syrup. I don't even get consistency in my non-coffee Vanilla Chai. When it's good, it's SOOOO good, and makes my tummy smile, but when it's bad.. bleh, sugar and no spice? I've gone there a couple times in the last few weeks on a Sunday morning. Once before church and once after. My mom and I love the coffee! I feel it's very high-quality and it's the perfect amount of sweetness. Not overpowering like most places these days. This is one of the best cafe's that I have ever in. It's spacious, low key and creative. I feel at home the moment I walk in. It feels innovative and free. They have a toaster where you can cook your own bagel. comfy chairs and a quiet room for working or meetings. There are books and games to read and great artwork on the walls. I'm a student attending MHCC nearby and always struggle finding sit down coffee shops that stay open later than 6pm in Gresham, so Cafe D is already a 5-star place since they stay open until 9pm most days. And they even have a quiet secluded small study room towards the back too! They are a little on the more expensive side when it comes to the coffee, but their coffee is great and consistent and for what their shop offers, I am so fine with paying a little extra! I really like this cafe, I know there are a ton of little cafe's with the hipster thing going, to me they always felt the same and just tried too hard. This one is a nice mix of modern and hippie, doesn't seem to be trying too hard, and feels cozy instead of having the attitude of "you don't look like you belong here..." I've been going to cafe D for many a year. I remember when my roots started to spread further from Gresham, I was truly sad when I thought about how that would affect my relationship with this beloved treasure in the heart of bustling little Gresham. There is tons of space, accommodating big groups, coffee date for two, or a solo study sesh. They make delicious coffee (and use my favorite brand of Chai, Big Train, as personal bonus. The only thing I miss about living in Gresham is being close to this little cafe. I used to enjoy sitting outside with my dog and having a snickers coffee with a panini. Their panini's are super delicious. Its hard to come by a place that sells tasty panini's and great coffee. I loved the atmosphere and the day old pastry basket! I have been here more than a dozen times and each time is the same: good coffee, good panini breakfast sandwiches, cool vibes from the the constant music and good customer service. In my 15 or so times I've been here, I have never experienced rude behavior even at the busiest times. I love studying/reading here. It's family friendly and the prices are ok. I usually get the regular coffee but the specialty coffee is good (I consider anything not regular coffee as specialty. Don't judge). I am perfectly happy and content that Police Officers from Gresham show up here. Another reviewer complained about them showing up "brandishing" their weapons. Police Officers: You're more than welcome anywhere, in my opinion! Downtown Gresham is becoming my favorite spot for a lot of things but it would be nice if people didn't complain about non-issues. I met my friend here for brunch on a Sunday around 11:30am and first of all they only offer street parking which was horrendous. Upon walking inside, my first impression was that it is a fairly busy, cute little place and the staff was decent, however my Italian soda tasted like pure soda water with no flavoring and my $10 half sandwich was definitely nothing spectacular. We ended up sitting in the corner at the couch and chairs and I noticed that the furniture was disgusting - I'm talking coffee splashes all up and down the fabric and very worn/tattered which definitely put me off a bit. Then my friend, who used to be a barista herself, said her cappuccino tasted burnt so she removed the lid and it looked terrible too. The barista was very snarky when she remade the drink, but at least she did remake it properly in the end. Long story short - I won't be returning and I don't recommend! read more

I have started to frequent this spot a little more regularly since I've joined up a study group. Normally, I order a small latte and it is cheaper than other places like Starbucks or a hipster coffee shop, which is a plus. The coffee is good but I'm not coming here just to get a cup of it because it's the most amazing thing in the world - it's more about the overall experience and atmosphere. The place is eclectic with a lot of hidden figurines that make you laugh or smile when you notice it. They place is clean, staff are friendly and helpful, and there's plenty of tables and sitting space. There's street parking or a free parking lot nearby. Awesome. They have this place set up in a very awesome way. It has been around, stood the test of time and it is still just as awesome if not more. They are quick and attentive, and apparently nice enough to their staff to retain this talent. That goes a long way, I have a better time when staff are having a good time. The decor in this place must have cost a fortune, tons of nice furniture and Feng Shui that would make any asian with a 12 inch beard proud.
