Probably my teen's favorite place in Gresham. Such a cute little place with a ton of options to choose from. They have shelves of candies you won't find at the supermarket and packages of the varieties of caramel corn they make in the store. There's the hand scoop ice cream counter where you can also order boba and shave ice, too. For funsies they sell stuffies and stickers and other fun gift ideas. Not to mention the fudges and bonbons and other special candies. We have been coming here for years, and the staff has always been so helpful and welcoming. We stopped in here to get boba tea, and I can state that iCandy unequivocally has the WORST boba tea I've ever had. If you've only had boba tea from iCandy, it is not that you don't like boba tea, it is that what you were served was garbage. iCandy's boba tea is as far from what boba tea should be that I really don't know how it was as bad as it was. The "blended" (meaning blended in a blender with ice) was impossibly gritty and just tasted gross. The boba was a mixture of completely overcooked and completely undercooked boba with a very weird and "off" flavor. I didn't drink mine, and my companion tried it and literally spat it out (kudos to the outdoor trash can that just happened to be in the right place at the right time). Their candies were good, but nothing great (See's are far better). The interior is bright, colorful, and quirky. Selection of packaged items is wide. There's also a full ice cream counter, and I suspect that if one visits for ice cream, it would probably be great. read more

Great candy store but. I go in shop, go to cashier to pay and all of a sudden the payment card machine is turned around for me to put in a tip. Well, I worked for 45years in customer service where I physically help my clients and never expected a tip. Not sure why I would tip because the employee did nothing but turn machine around. Great ice cream shop downtown with neat trinkets and candy for sale. The ice cream was excellent. We got some interesting candy to try and some toys to take home. Spiderman and the Frozen Princess's were around taking photos with the kiddos. With the museum next door its a great place for a weekend stroll with the kids. read more

I do agree with others about the customer service, they are very friendly and helpful and the shop itself is adorable and has very fun things to buy other than just the candy, tea, and shaved ice! It's hit and miss. The good: The packaged caramel + cheese popcorn (Chicago style) is really good - much better than anything you can get in a grocery store. The various packaged-in-house candies they either make or get fresh are really good, too. The okay: Cookie dough is tasty enough, though it's a little lacking in intensity compared to some others I've had. It's not bland, but it's also not drop-dead amazing. Just kind of ok. The bad: The chocolates in the case are a complete gamble. We've had some that were literally rancid and others are fresh and delicious. I've tried letting staff know on a few occasions, but they seemed genuinely uninterested in our feedback and after three times getting rancid chocolates, we won't be getting any more from the case. I don't see any indication of freshness tracking (writing dates on packages or trays), so it's anyone's guess as to how old anything that's made here is. I'm just grateful we haven't gotten sick from it. iCandy has a great location in downtown Gresham and the staff is otherwise friendly, if a little distracted and inexperienced with customer service and cashiering. read more

This place was a great find in downtown Gresham. After eating at a burger spot next door, we wanted something sweet. So we stopped into iCandy thinking we would each get something small.... bahahaha yeah right!!! The store has circular displays with old school candies that are harder to find. The perimeter of the store had knick knacks and some pre packaged treats and cards etc... There's an ice cream counter with maybe 10 or so flavors. I didn't even try any but the shakes they were kicking out looked good... there is an apothecary style candy bar behind that with jars of candy that are sold by the pound... think gummies and jaw breakers, jelly beans etc... Then there is the edible cookie dough bar!!!!!!!!! I've been reading about these on the East Coast and I was so freaking thrilled to find one here. They give samples so you can find the one you want... I will definitely come back here for this alone even if they didn't have any of the other amazing treats. I frankly prefer cookie dough to baked cookies lol The serving is probably average but the dough is so yummy!!! They will do 1/2 & 1/2 scoops.... Next is the homemade gourmet popcorn area. Their homemade caramel corn reminded my parents of the Karamel corn from their youth, but I wasn't around then... it was an awesome flavor and so yummy and fresh. They also had cheddar and some other flavor I can't remember... Then they have the gourmet candy by the pound section. There is an entire row of sugar free options for those that prefer or need that. They have a pretty good assortment of dark and milk chocolate options and a large selection of truffles. So far the sugar free dark chocolate almond patty was my favorite. Then we found out that there is shaved ice served during the summer... oh my I will be back here on a hot day. Lastly just this week they are starting to serve bubble tea or boba!!!! Their edible cookie dough has been my quarantine treat of choice (though if I'm being honest, it started long before COVID). I tried making my own, baking the flour as advised and substituting milk for eggs (did you know flour is actually the main source of salmonella, not eggs?), and even though I'm quite the accomplished baker, I can't replicate theirs. I always get plain, and my husband gets monster cookie, birthday cake, or oatmeal raisin, or sometimes all 3. I store it in the fridge and let it sit at room temp for around 15 minutes before digging in, and 3 scoops tends to last about 3 nights, unless I'm really stressed and want to drown my troubles in sugar and butter. Now I'm craving cookie dough. The caramel corn is excellent, too. The best I've ever had. Perfectly salty and sweet. read more

As you stroll through the mom & pop shops on the historic streets of Gresham, you will most likely be lured into iCandy by the sweet scent of caramel corn being prepared throughout the day. My friend and I were greeted with a generous sample of the flavored popcorn upon entering the store. The popped kernels were light and tasty without that overly sticky or deathly sweet taste found at many fairs. We even got to see the shop keeper hard at work preparing a batch. No wonder she has such great looking arms. Wash down your sample corn with a soda in glass bottles. The Coca Cola is 'Hecho en Mexico' and has no high fructose corn syrup, so you get to enjoy the flavor of days gone by. The aisles carry candy from your younger days, and will have you grabbing the packages of Bazooka gum, candy cigarettes, and pop rocks off the shelves to buy and try for a trip down memory lane. There are also fun new candy concoctions. One display showed off bacon-flavored jelly beans, gummy strips; as well as other bacon related items like band aides that looked like the beloved breakfast treat. Deplorable service. We were the only customers in the store when we walked in, stood at the chocolate counter and employee ignored us, repeatedly going to the back of the store without talking to us. New customer walked in and stood at the ice cream counter and employee walked out and helped them immediately. Moved from chocolate counter to the ice cream counter to try and get help and the employee moved to the cash register and checked out several customers there instead of returning to help us. Asked her directly to please come help us as we had been in the store waiting for help before any of the other customers and she refused.
