Cafe Deko is my favorite coffee spot in Chicago! This was my first time at the Diversey location, which is also nicely decorated in art deco and funky interior design- so my vibe! My hot latte was divine here and the vegan scone was also a great addition, I loved how it didn't feel too heavy, and seemed to be made with healthier, more whole ingredients without compromising on taste. The service was super kind and fast as well, I highly recommend checking out Cafe Deko!
This place has a lot of seating especially if you like to WFH. They have a wide range of drink options and I got their ice green tea which was so refreshing. The service was great and definitely will be back to try more on their menu
Updating my review quickly to say the matcha is delicious! My colleague and I needed an afternoon pick me up and Cafe Deko was near so we stopped by. I got an iced vanilla latte and oh my gosh this tasted like melted ice cream in the best way possible? Sweet, creamy and so delicious. I think next time I would get it half sweet just to cut it a little bit but it's so good and I've been dreaming about getting it again!
Cute cafè! Love the unique ambiance. Ice latte was delicious. Great spot for coffee, hanging out, or studying. I definitely will be back!
Stepped in into Café Deco for a quick coffee and was pleasantly surprised! The interior is absolutely beautiful, it gives up strong, great Gatsby vibes with elegant and art decor. The service is warm and welcoming, and the coffee was excellent. It's also a great spot to work remotely, comfortable, seating, good lighting, and the noise level was just right definitely a place I'll be revisiting.
One of the most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing cafés I've ever been to! The decor, the furniture, the ambience, the music, all of it was amazing. My latte was great as well. I decided to stop by and work from the shop on a quick day trip to Chicago from San Francisco. I'm so glad I did. I can't wait to try the other location!
I went to cafe Deko twice during my short trip to Chicago because I loved the atmosphere and my Americano. They had a lovely selection of baked goods. I also had a breakfast bagel that was nice, but I wouldn't go for the food. The service was great, they brought my drink to me and I sat for a while and used their wifi to get some work done on my laptop. It was spacious inside and had a nice outdoor seating area as well.
I have been dyyyying to check out Cafe Deko because helloooo how cute is it!? I've seen so many photos and followed them on instagram for a while, so I was thrilled to find myself in the area with a couple free hours one day. I was surprised the inside wasn't larger, although they really do pack a lot of (beautiful) tables inside! There's counter seating, booth type couch seating, and cute little tables. The chairs were especially comfortable, which is always a bonus when you will be working for a couple hours or so! Worth noting, however, that the WiFi went out multiple times in the two hours I was working from here. This caused the music in the cafe to stop entirely, their pay system goes down so you can't order/pay, and, of course, it affects the work flow! That said, I was a bit disappointed because found the product to be just okay. The coffee itself wasn't anything to write home about. I got an iced white chocolate mocha. It was fine. I also grabbed a sandwich for lunch and was very underwhelmed. It was a chipotle chicken sandwich (chicken, bacon, Gouda, roasted peppers and chipotle sauce) and while it sounded tasty, I thought the chicken looked funky (see the pic and let me know what you think, maybe I'm just being weird?). I also noticed the staff often just stands around behind the counter on their phones, when they could be refilling the empty water canister, or clearing plates from people. I just thought that could be a nice above-and-beyond customer service touch in their down time. Overall it's a nice looking spot, and a comfortable place to work from, but I wouldn't recommend the food, and I'd just get a coffee without high expectations.
I'm a regular at the Printer's Row location and I'm glad I got to visit this location too. Beautiful decor and tasty drinks. Friendly staff and comfy seating. It definitely got crowded in the late morning. Lots of people working at tables. I almost didn't get a seat at first but then I got lucky, and it thinned out more in the afternoon. Good beverages. I enjoyed my iced hazelnut latte and my iced matcha latte. The temperature was a bit too warm for me inside but it was overall a pleasant experience. Lovely cafe and lots of natural light.
I will admit, I went to this coffee shop based off of the beautiful images I saw online! I came across Cafe Deko on Instagram, and as I was coming to Chicago for the marathon, I added it to my list of places to visit. The decor alone is really beautiful, and I wish I had had time to sit inside and enjoy it more. I got a coffee to go, and the service was friendly and warm. The coffee was really delicious, and as someone with a dairy allergy, I always love when shops have nondairy options. If you go for the decor alone, I understand, but the coffee is worth it as well!
4.5 stars due to a very foamy latte top. The latte itself was good, the espresso was smooth and the milk was well frothed aside from the top half inch. I got a guava and cheese pastry and it was phenomenal. I need to ask who they source their baked goods from next time I visit because I might need to buy them in bulk! Ample seating for such a small spot, restroom was available, decor and ambiance was relaxing and tranquil. The music has french jazz sound, think "the original L Word intro" song. I sat on one of the couches which would make a great spot for a date. You know what, they can have the half star back since they have a super convenient, walk up window. I'll be back.
I love cafe Deko! Such a cute coffee shop with unique decor to grab a pastry and a coffee and / or do some work. I love their iced tiramisu latte

We popped by this morning with a baby and toddler for a really quick breakfast. Plenty of tables to sit and enjoy a coffee, meet up for a chat or even get a little work done. The cashier and barista were both super friendly. In fact, the barista came to give me the drinks bc I had both kids. I got a chai tea latte and my husband got the flat white and both were hot and well made. The ambiance is very cozy and it was a fun cafe with a Gatsby vibe. They have food too - we tried the spinach feta pastry- yum and my toddler insisted on a banana which was quite the savior this am. The coffee cups were really cute too! They have definitely gone the extra mile with all the small details throughout the cafe. We will be back! read more

The place was vibrant and full of energy, with a great atmosphere--but not the best spot for studying, in my opinion. It's perfect for catching up with friends, though, as the music is quite loud for focused work. The bagel and strawberry matcha were fantastic and exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be back, just not for studying or working. It does get busy, so arriving early is a good idea, and their hours are super convenient too! read more
This was the cutest coffee shop! I wish I could have stayed longer but we were running off to a college visit. This would be a sure fave if I lived here. It's got the music, the service, the great vibes and of course the decor. Oh and yes -my drink was phenomenal as well! I had the white mocha and I wish I had two. See you next time Cafe Deko! read more

I'm having a hard time with this review! The ambiance is wonderful. The cafe is beautiful. Maybe I'm biased, because these are my wedding colors. It's a nice place. The service was quick, easy, and the barista was super sweet and informative. The space is large enough for people with mobility aids and service dogs. The lights are not so bright that they will bother people with sensory sensitivity. Bring some headphones or earplugs for sound sensitive people. My coffee was fantastic. The espresso is great. The oat milk is lovely, lavender honey latte is so the way to go. I wish I came here on pleasure as opposed to business. I was enjoying myself very much until the wifi began to give out every 2-3 minutes and reconnect after about 5 minutes. It was so frustrating to try to work on my manuscript and have to pause for 5 minutes every few minutes. My experience was soured by this. I will update after next time. read more

Stopped by on a visit to Chicago because a local recommended them. It's awesome inside - a mix of cozy and lively, so much to look at with the colorful art deco interior. It was difficult to get a table so be ready to stand and wait. Otherwise, great! read more

**disclaimer I only had a black coffee and a banana, I didnt try their food/ pastries** 9:30am on a Friday morning and the place was bustling and the friendly baristas were hustling The bar is a nice spot for solo first timers to take the space in after ordering. (One common downside to smaller places like Cafe Deko are the solo goers who take up larger tables, but it is like I mentioned a smaller space so I digress.) I'm privileged enough to say that $4.25 for a large banana and a 12oz cup of joe was affordable; I enjoyed the banana and I have yet to sip my coffee as I'm typing this. Also the bathrooms are through the tinted door in the background I assume. I also like to note that I don't see an outlet near me. They also have a window where customers can ring a doorbell to pick up an order or place one! read more
Wow the interior is so unique and beautiful and impressive that I became a bit skeptical about the quality of coffee because I was afraid it's just an "insta friendly" coffee shop. Got an iced honey lavender latte and it was decent. Strong and not too sweet. Not the best that I have had but definitely not bad. The service was friendly and fast. read more
The decor in here is beautiful, and my most recent experience here was nice because we had arrived just before it got full, so finding seating was easy. I like their comfy 2 seater sofas along the back wall. This place gives a nice vintage vibe with the darker green tones and black and white checkered flooring. The girl who took our order was super friendly, and we got our coffee and tea in no time. Seems like a great place to get work done if you can snag a spot by the wall where (I'm assuming there are power outlets?). Either way, this is a nice little coffee shop with great vibes and great drinks. I'd return for sure! read more
Sipping coffee, indulging in tiramisu delights Finally got to go into @cafe_deko_20 honestly I was so excited I've wanted to try this place for the longest time and it was just random @cassidyeatscarbs and I stumbled upon it while being in the neighborhood! We got their special tiramisu latte and it was incredible! So delicious, refreshing, and tasty honestly I'm so happy I got to stop in! The ambiance is GORGEOUS! Just look at those photos from the inside and the service was helpful as well:))) I will definitely be coming back! read more
I got an iced white cafe latte with strawberry syrup. This was pretty good but got a little close too strawberry flavored water 1/4 way through be there was way too much ice. The area is just as cute as it looks in pictures but a little smaller. Note only the booth seats have outlets and the other tables are a little too small to share between 2 people, so keep that in mind if you're planning to work/study with someone. Overall, the service was nice, I'd recommend giving them a shot! A great alternative to chain coffee shops! read more
One of the coolest coffee shops vibes in Chicago, but the wifi drops out a lot and you won't go here for the food or service. They are only serving disposables, including a paper bag and plastic wrapped knife fork and napkin for my bagel, which sadly went into the trash immediately. No recycling either. Landfill waste has tripled in last two years. Barista was bored and didn't bother to call my name after she toasted my bagel and left it sitting on a counter, even though I was sitting there at my table 10 feet away waiting for it and I had confirmed I was "here." Was cold by the time I asked about it while she checked her phone. Sign on every single table saying to keep your feet of the furniture. I mean, fine? But it's the kind of hospitality level of being glared at by your friends mom. Just little service things could really improve the quality of this shop. But the art deco monkeys hanging off the wall are still pretty damn cool. read more
Cafe Deko is another great new coffee shop that has become a favorite. It took its name from the Art Deco architecture style. Look at the inside and it certainly seems like it with the decor looking all classy and throwback. Good place for coffee and pastries but a bad place to find an empty chair. The prices are a little high but nothing unordinary. I like the decor as much as the coffee. Old appearing vintage Art Deco. The place is supposed to look like the 1920s or something. Apparently many others here think so and they seem to like it. There's even more than that to like too. Decor wouldn't matter nearly as much if they had bad coffee. Even making it better are the cookies and pastries. These pair up pretty good together. I like the Americano. It's $4.20 with non dairy milk. This is kind of expensive but it was fresh and smooth. I got a vegan scone the last time here. It's $4.25 for it and most of the pastries are about as much. This again is kind of expensive but it was so good and you pay up for better quality. Oh well the prices are comparable to many other coffee places around here. They have some good prices on the less fancier ones and the pastries sometimes get discounted when they're getting rid of some. Fun atmosphere. It's fun as in let's read a book. This is a great place for hanging out and getting into literature but please move along so people can have those seats and tables. read more
A cool spot but alot smaller than I thought after seeing social media pictures. The honey lavender latte with almond milk was tasty. The chairs are super comfortable as well. This was a nice spot to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon! read more

Love the decor. Love the tranquility. The coffee was good - smooth but very lightly acidic, not too sweet, full bodied. They have vegan and non-vegan options. The vegan scone was quite tasty but not really the texture of a scone. Would have given it more stars except for two things: I am a stickler for tea being served at the correct temperature and steeped correctly. It was way too hot. AND I ordered a turkey and cheese croissant. I was given a spinach and feta croissant. The spinach and feta croissant was very salty. read more
I love this quaint little coffee shop! It gives a royal vintage vibe. They serve delicious coffee along with an excellent selection of sandwiches. Service is friendly and fast. My only note for this place is that they play loud and more upbeat music, which doesn't match the theme of the shop. But other than that, would definitely recommend! read more

Quick recap: - Coffee: Good - Portion size: Small to average - Service: At the counter - Environment: Coffee shop w/ 60s vibes - $: Average - Perks: N/A Overall? I recommend the place. The coffee is good and the ambiance is cool. Staff could be nicer though. More details: The cappuccino and americanos were solid (about $4). The bagels and muffins were average ($3). The staff could have been nicer... I guess they might have been a bit overwhelmed by the fact that the place was full. But they did not seem to care. And it felt a bit transactional. There was a lot of people when we went. We had to wait for about 20min to get a table, as a lot of people were just working. However the coffee was good and the ambiance (the way the place was decorated gave it a 60s vibe) was really cool. read more

We stopped here for coffee after lunch. There was a steady flow of customers even at 3 PM in the afternoon. The interior lives up to its name; it's beautiful. Cafe Deko has a nice corner location, but unfortunately it's not terribly spacious inside. The service was very friendly. We ordered a honey lavender latte and a cappuccino. Pricing was fair. My wife enjoyed her latte, and I liked the cappuccino. On my cappuccino scale, Sparrow Coffee is a 10. Most other capps I have from other places are about a 5, while Dunkin Donuts' capp is a 1. I'd say Cafe Deko's capp is a 7.5, which is good. I'm only dropping one star because of something not totally in Cafe Deko's control. There was no seating available for my family of 3 because most tables were taken by people working on their laptops. I get it; it's all the rage to work at a coffee shop. But there were literally two 4-person tables taken up by 1 person each. That's potentially 8 paying customers who would have their drinks and leave, but instead 2 people were hogging the tables for who knows how long. Maybe they purchased multiple items, but maybe not. There was also a table where someone had their laptop plugged in and people were having to climb over her charger wire. I know this might come across as harsh because perhaps some people don't have a home environment conducive to work and studying, but I feel like these folks should either take a bar stool at the front counter or take their drink & work to a library instead of hogging 4-person tables. read more

THIS PLACE IS SO CUTE!! Like straight out of a movie. I stopped by real quick for a coffee and pastry before heading to a coworking space. I found parking down one of the residential streets nearby. Otherwise it's paid meters. Feeling festive, I got a Peppermint Latte (with oat milk) and a Cheese Danish. Both were tasty! Coffee wasn't super strong. Service was quick, though. I'd love to come back again by myself or with a friend and just hang out in this fancy environment. Maybe get work or reading done. read more

This place is a pretty cool coffee shop with beautiful Great Gatsby aesthetics. I had the lavender latte and it was fair. It had a very strong lavender scent which was powerful combined with the coffee flavor. Wouldn't mind checking out this place to sit and try their pastries and food items next time! read more
Talk about a vibey place! Super cute interior! Tasty coffee, and reasonably priced! We got the iced chai tea and the iced pumpkin spiced latte and both enjoyed them. It wasn't the best chai I've had, but definitely not the worst! read more
I've wanted to try Cafe Deko for months, and I'm glad I finally could. This cozy coffee shop has beautiful art deco decor and vibe. They have many places to sit that are comfortable and free WiFi as well. Their coffee menu has a perfect assortment of options, including seasonal lattes. I tried their maple cinnamon latte, and it was divine. They also have many pastry options that looked delicious, but I did not try on this visit. I look forward to coming back! read more
