One of my new favorite coffee shops! The interior is absolutely beautiful and gives me major plant mom vibes. Staff is super nice as well. I got a honey lavender almond milk latte and it wasn't super sweet which I appreciated. Such a great place to hang with friends or get work done. read more

Loved it! Such a cute spot. Got a iced matcha latte and it was yummy. I was able to peacefully do my work on my laptop on their comfy seating. read more

Cafe Deko - Espresso on ice - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I'm on a perpetual hunt to find spaces to study and get good sunlight- this cafe meets my basic requirements and then some. Of all the cafes in Chicago I've visited- this one is one of the absolute cutest: retro style lighting fixtures, dark green velvet chairs, couches, and an overall atmosphere of deco style cafe lounging, I just love it. They also have bakery items and non-dairy milk, which I appreciate. I walked here from my apartment and was so happy to find out they actually were open- the outside would fool you, it's completely disarming especially once you enter. Can't wait to make this spot a regular joint! read more

This place was so so cute! It had all the vibes. I would love to come here any day and study. They had some relaxing house music playing & there were a few comfy couches with people working/studying. I got the iced oat milk latte and I asked for just a little bit of caramel in it. I wish I didn't get that in it because I couldn't even taste it but it was still good. My boyfriend got an iced tea and said it was really good. We both loved this place! Great overall experience with very friendly staff. read more

I sat down for an hour without getting anything and was waiting on a friend to join me. I got kicked out because I wasn't a paying customer, even after I told them I was waiting for a friend and I would get something when they joined me. She proceeded to come back and asked me to leave, while I was in a work meeting. There's no signs saying anything about waiting on friends to order coffee, so be prepared to pay a pretty penny if you want to wait for a friend. read more

Wow! Cafe Deko is so cute and cozy. They currently have a two hour window due to covid restrictions, but their seats are so cozy - I wish I could've stayed longer! A perfect study spot. The coffee is pretty good too. read more

While I usually love coming to this spot and have enjoyed doing remote work here, do not come here if you have any allergy of any kind! I have celiac (severe gluten allergy) and am not able to eat anything within the menu (except for apparently one cookie as I was told). After bringing out a yogurt, I was immediately told by a barista to put it away which is disappointing to hear especially when I have been coming to this place for years, paid for a $9 dollar latte and there are not many coffeeshops that offer gluten free options. read more

Just amazingly tasting almond latte wow wort the drive. Very nice atmosphere and I was able to get some work done as well. Great vibes.

Adorable new coffee shop in Lakeview. It's right on the corner of Halstead and Diversey, you can't miss it. The interior is super cute! I can't wait to be able to sit inside and enjoy a cup of coffee. The staff was very friendly and got my coffee ready extremely quickly. I went with a black hot coffee and it was very delicious. Go check it out! read more

I cannot wait until we can sit inside this place after covid! It's so warm, so much warmer feeling than the coffee shop here before whose name was way too long for anyone to remember. Plus they have a walk up window which will make pick up so much safer! I walked into this shop and felt welcomed immediately. My apple strudel was AWESOME and I'll have to try their drinks very soon. I really hope Cafe Deko lasts through this pandemic, it feels like a hard time to open a new business so I plan to patron whenever I can! read more

This place reminds me of those old classic movies that have a nostalgic feel about them. The employees are quite pleasant and work in a well-organized environment. Because of the large number of people that come here to work and study, it can be difficult to locate a seat; nevertheless, there is free Wi-Fi. We ordered one of the daily specials, a latte made with almond milk. Alternative milk is available for an additional fee, although whole milk is the most basic option available. I also ordered a vegan scone, which I believe was between $3.5 and $4, making this a reasonably priced option when compared to other attractive coffee shops. The flavor of my latte was excellent; it was mildly sweetened and did not have a strong coffee taste to it. I ended up adding a little extra sugar to the mixture to enhance the flavor, and the creaminess was just great. read more

The interior of this cafe is STUNNING. Wish there was more seating available but other than that, super cute and unique joint. I got the maple cinnamon latte with oat milk and it was DELISH. One of the best lattes I've had in a while, and I drink a lot of lattes. They used real cinnamon which I appreciate. Would go back! read more

Unfortunately a disappointing visit. While the interior does look gorgeous (like seriously great job on the decor), I found my coffee lacking (I ordered a dirty chai and it just tasted like sweet cinnamon milk) and my muffin was most definitely from a Costco multipack (Chicago has a lot of great bakery options, this is really disappointing). For a cafe that I think is trying to market itself as a premium option (I'm thinking Herb & Alchemy), unfortunately Cafe Deko misses the mark read more

Nice but very crowded and not much space between the tables. The interior is sweet though.

This place is great! I saw someone on here mention bad service because the barista didn't call their name when the food was ready. The idea that this place has bad service is laughable. The baristas are so sweet and drinks and food come out very fast. Not to mention the coffee and food are delicious and I'm not paying 8 dollars for a large coffee with alternative milk like at most places. I've become a regular here. I can't work in sterile, white coffee shops. Cafe Deko has a warmth to it that makes it perfect for both work and meeting with friends. However, I fear I may have to find a new place to be a regular at. The wifi is the worst I have ever experienced and I am from rural Texas. It's gotten so bad I have had to start this review over 3 times because the wifi drops every 10 minutes or so. Until this gets fixed I am afraid I will have to say goodbye to my favorite coffee shop in all of Chicago. read more

Their honey lavender latte is great! I love the ambiance and their quick service! I recommend!

I went to Cafe Deko at 7 am on 12/1/2022. My first impression of Cafe Deko was that it had a very 1920s vibe to it. I found this to be very unique for a coffee shop. There is a lot of space to work at. There is also a couch where you can drink coffee and work on your laptop as well. I ordered a latte and a regular coffee. I found the regular coffee to taste a little burnt. The latte was amazing and it was what I needed that cold morning. The latte art could be better but the taste is what won me over. I would recommend Cafe Deko if you need a coffee shop with a lot of tables to be able to work. read more

one of the most visually appealing cafes around the city that like its name says- hits that 1920s art deco vibe right on the nail. perfect place for light conversations or a little study sesh i will be back again and again! read more

Coffee is always great. Was hoping once they were open for a bit that they'd get some decent pastries, donuts, croissants, SOMETHING?? I mean, the owner is Greek so I'd expect some cheese pies at the very least. read more

Cafe Deko was one of my first neighborhood discoveries when I moved to Chicago, and I have been a regular ever since. They have spoiled me for coffee because their flat whites are so good that everywhere else is a disappointment. Most of all, I love the atmosphere: cozy and pleasantly bustling, but always warm and friendly. I take all my friends here, and recently brought my two young nieces who adored everything. The Deko staff were also so accommodating and made them feel extra special. It's sure to be a favorite of anyone who comes. read more

The best cappuccino freddo I've had outside of Greece, no better coffee shop in the city!

Love the vibe here. Chose a different coffee for today, Honey Lavender Latte... it was a great treat and wonderful work space.

I have tried this place twice and each time was a huge let down and waste of money. I did an online pick up and each time my drink tastes like watered down coffee. sucks, really wanted to like this place read more

I've had the pleasure to walk into this cozy corner of art Deko which by the way , stands true to its name. beautiful decor cozy friendly inviting aromatic and colorful!. before I go to work I can truly say it's my eye candy and coffee treat on my days I need lifting the most. I feel Pleased and enticed that all my coffee pleasures can and will be explored along with curiosity for new ones ,that can uplift my day and jump start it! I highly recommend you visit and be pulled in with The aroma of coffee in the air and experience and explore them and stay a while to enjoy that great cup! read more

Very cute and trendy. Very limited seating available, probably won't be able to sit down. Drinks are good but could be cheaper.

The lavender latte is the best coffee drink I've ever had. Smooth and aromatic. I have to get one every time I walk by. Lovely people, too.

Such a cute little coffee shop. The staff was so friendly & helpful while I was ordering read more

This coffee place is close to our new place so we had to try it out. Excellent coffee, very very good. The croissant was a bit dry but I'll definitely go back!! read more

This is the cutest, coziest place to hang out--great for doing work or meeting up with someone. The 1920s-inspired aesthetic is a Pinterest dream come true, and it's a calm environment. I had the specialty Lavender honey latte (iced, with oat milk) and it was delectable. Coffee fiend that I am, I also got a regular iced latte with oat milk and was pleasantly surprised that it was just as tasty! Some places make their lattes too milky, but this had a wonderful espresso flavor that wasn't overwhelming. I will be returning! read more

the good: good pastries, some unique flavor syrups you don't see at other cafes(i'm looking at you, strawberry!). staff is efficient. good espresso, seems fresh. this place has its branding DOWN. it's exactly what i'd expect from a place called cafe deko. the average: prices are about what you'd expect for the area. not a steal, not a ripoff. a madeleine and a traditional macchiato were ~$7.50, sans tip. the bad: they play the music SO loud. really put me on edge. i was hoping for somewhere i could read and enjoy a coffee peacefully on a rainy saturday. this is not that place. also, my drink was made WAY too hot so i had to stay put longer than i really wanted. a macchiato should be a little cooler than a latte; this was far, far hotter and i couldn't even drink it for about 10 minutes overall, i'd come here again. probably not to hang out. but if i was in the area already and wanted a coffee to go, i'd be happy to have the chance to try something new from cafe deko. read more

Love this place! Amazing latte. Love that they have a pick up window so I can grab my coffee while on my dog walk. They also gave my dog a little treat as well. Overall excellent coffee, excellent service and excellent experience. I'll be back soon! read more

I cannot recommend this place enough. The atmosphere and ambience is incredible! Their honey lavender latte is perfectly flavored and absolutely delicious. But what really has me writing this review is the service! I forgot to mention I wanted my latte iced and when I asked for a cup of ice after I got my drink to pour it into, they insisted they just remake the drink for me iced. Their staff is so kind and clearly wants their customers to have the best experience on all fronts. Will definitely patronize this place for years to come! read more

Great indoor space with delicious coffee. Follows COVID-19 protocols. Also has great bagel selection!

This place is decorated so well!! The coffee is great and the owners/employees are super nice. This is exactly what we needed in this space!

So cute, great coffee, great vibes! A little small though, so if you're looking for a place to study it isn't ideal.

Sweet decor, cool vibe, good coffee + bagel, super reasonably priced. A great addition to the neighborhood. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area! read more
