This is THE authentic Paris style cafe. I enjoy french style caesar salad with chicken cutlet that I love heavily.

    fish & chips

Hendricks and Darell were amazing servers and spoke amazing english for us Americans! Fish and chips, aperol spritz & fruit tart was 10/10! Calm and clean space with great ambiance in restaurant!

12 Escargot and French Onion Soup!

We were staying nearby and this place was always packed during the day so we thought we'd stop in for dinner. We came in close to closing but we got pretty good, pretty welcoming service. We got a couple draft beers and got the dozen escargot and French onion soup to start. Great flavors from the escargot-perfect texture, and deliciously garlicky, buttery goodness. The French onion soup had tons of cheese, crusty, crunchy bread, and it almost tasted like there was goat cheese in it, which I enjoyed. Our entree's were great. My bf got the fish and chips and they were light and crispy with a great tartar sauce, accompanied by salad and fries. My medium rare steak au poivre was cooked just right and the peppercorn sauce was absolutely amazing. It was like a delicious peppercorn gravy that I wanted to put on everything. Would def come back during the day to grab a drink and people watch.

Omg, this place is great for Americans who don't speak French. Waiter Kemal, was very patient with! The quiche salmon and spinach.

Omg, this place is great for Americans who don't speak French; our waiter, Kemal, was very patient with us and made us feel at home. Kemal is the best! Wow and the quiche with salmon and spinach is a must, better than that Trader Joe's we get at home

Stopped by here for a quick lunch. Looked very busy every time I would pass by it so figured it would be good. Sits near the Opera Garnier. Ordered Cappuccino some wine and both were satisfying with my meal and light. I ordered their version of a Caesar salad that had some additional things on it than a typical Ceasar and loved it! The salad was very tasty and filling as it had lots of pieces of chicken and hard boiled egg. As busy as the place was service was attentive and friendly. Nothing fancy about the place simple nice cafe with most outdoor sitting where you can people watch

Two of us randomly walked in while strolling along the boulevard. An ideal place to relax and people watch, it's clean and attractive enough, at a busy intersection with decent sidewalk seating. Enjoyed some good Pschitt[1]. I ordered lemonade, and got a bottle of Pschitt, a glass with ice, and a lemon while my friend sipped on her coffee. Quick and friendly service. Friendly patrons[2], too - a woman even offered to take our photo! [1] Like that pun? [2] Luck of the draw, of course.

Croque Madame at forefront, Croque Poulet at rear, with French Fries $38 euro with drinks

Stopped in here to grab something to eat while shopping. It was crowded, tiny tables. We sat in the tented awning area in the front. I had a Croque Madame and my husband had a Croque Poulet. It was quite good, and so was the wine (though I neglected to note what it was, sorry). I have no reason to complain. I attached pics, that's the best way to know what to expect. Our total with drinks was 38 euro. Our server Teddy was engaging, spoke English well and did not bat an eye at my poor Google Translate French. He told us he was going to Boston. Bonne chance Teddy!

8,20 eur Cappuccino !!! Not ok

This place is awful!! Dirty and EXPENSIVE- my cappuccino was 8,20eur !!! The waiters are grumpy and rude; the food is bad. The only thing this place has for itself is it's location. Then again, you're in front of a busy road. Avoid this café.

Wonderful French restaurant excellent atmosphere and great service from Melanie

This place was a nice 10 minute stroll from our hotel. Service was friendly and attentive. We ordered escargots and steak frites and a nice stein of Kronenberg. Snails were tasty pesto butter morsels of goodness. Steak frites was a nice cut of beef done exactly as ordered with crispy fries. Very satisfying meal after a long day sightseeing and walking around Paris. C'est tres bonne!!

Pierre Hermé If you…read moreknow Pierre Hermé from social media and all the viral videos, then this review needs no introduction. But if you haven't, this is a strong contender for worthy macarons in Paris and at a convenient location across the street from Ladurée. Located inside L'Occitane in the most gorgeous floor space ever, you will find Pierre Hermé at the center of it all. They have an impressive array of flavors that were much more unique than other patisseries. I definitely asked for a few recommendations as well since I tend to order the same thing (pistachio, raspberry, lemon, etc.) The workers were very kind. They indulged my request to converse in French and corrected me in a respectful and endearing way (I know some people get upset at this idea but I personally prefer it.) I had ordered a dozen macarons but truthfully would've ordered the entire lot if I wasn't alone and especially if I wasn't already taking a ton of sweets back for my flight home. I am a Ladurée purist and what I can say is that Pierre Hermé definitely had the best and most unique flavors compared to the two. The prices are fairly comparable and the coffrets are just as tasteful. Both are strong contenders and worthy of your money. I certainly will be returning and look forward to trying the rest of their selection. (15/50--2025)

Pierre Hermé is home to some of the best macarons I've had in my life -- which is probably too many for the good of my health -- and I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the macarons, the staff's attention to detail, and all the unique flavors this shop had to offer. As a popular macaron shop in one of the hottest tourist destinations in Paris, this location is undeniably crowded. There's usually a huge line circling around a central display of macaron after macaron. The line looks pretty intimidating, but it moves quite quickly, and there are so many flavors that it'll probably be helpful to have a bit of extra time to review the menu. My friend and I split a pack of four macarons, including their seasonal isapahan (rose, lychee, raspberry), infiniment praliné pistache, and a jardin de cassandre (red currant, rhubarb). The macarons were delightful. I loved the two seasonal items; they were delightfully fruity and slightly floral, and I loved the slightly tangy flavor from the raspberry in the isapahan and rhubarb / currants in the jardin de cassandre. The praliné pistache was nice and nutty, and the inner cream offered a great additional richness. It's usually super crowded so seating tends to be quite limited. My friend and I ended up taking our macarons to go and enjoyed them elsewhere as we toured Champs Elysée.

Ofcourse the macarons has attracted me and ofcourse I got myself 4 in the souvenir tin! It was super hard to pick 4 out of the many flavors there. But I picked 4 and they were not sweet at all. Tastes great! Environment On the main walking street, you can't miss it. The inside has a lot going on, it is a store, a pastry shop or a cafe! The line system for the pastries was almost non-existence.. but Im glad I was able to get the introduction to the flavors and wasn't busy. But I can see it can get chaotic. Once you make the selection you get a slip to make the payment. Niceness of the staff Despite the amount of people walking inland out and looking, the staff was very patient as I calmed my sensors down. Dollar All macarons are expensive I see. We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup. I did wish the restaurant allowed us to split the pot amongst our table. Nonetheless, I enjoy dining at Carette and returned on my second Paris trip with my husband. Anyone visiting for the first time should try their thick hot chocolate at least once.
