I was staying in the Le Meridien Etoile hotel which is right around the corner from this restaurant.The restaurant is near the Port Mailiot Station. It was late afternoon and I was walking back from the Arc de Triompe to my hotel when I came upon this restaurant. The Arc is about a half mile from both the Le Meridien Etoile and the Arc of Triompe. This area is on the edge of the outskirts of Paris proper and is probably why prices although a little high are more reasonable than what you can expect from restaurants closer to the center of Paris. La Terrasse is a typical French brasserie serving breakfast,lunch, dinner and brunch. They have happy hour specials which we ordered from. They serve French cuisine. I ordered the filet of sole and it came with a salad. The seasoning made the sole burst with flavor, My dinner quest had the pork chop with a vegetable pasta and said, "it was the best pork chop she ever had". We both also had the kiwi/blueberry custard tart which was wonderful, as well. They have an extensive dessert menu. The coffee was strong even for a coffee drinker like me. La Terrasse has both inside and outside seating with a traditional old school bar set-up and restaurant tables along the wall. The waiter was highly professional and spoke English. I can speak several languages but can always use the help. Serve was relatively quick. We never felt rushed nor neglected. Free water came with the meal, something that is not always the case in Paris. They accept Visa and Master Card. Their hours are Mon. - Sat. 7 am - 2 am and Sunday, 7 am - 1 am. If you are staying in this area of Paris, I consider La Terrasse a good choice. read more

Had a wonderful lunch at Cafe de la Terrasse. Alan our service provided us with excellent service and recommendations. The T-Bone steak entree was excellent. Alan recommend that dish. It was only 18.50 euros. We highly recommend visiting this restaurant. read more

This was one of the best restaurants my friends and I dined at in Paris and it was a short distance from our hotel and right near the metro stop making it a great spot! We dined inside and all of the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. The decor was really nice and gave me a more upscale feeling than many of the other restaurants we had been to. They also had a nice enclosed outside area with heat lamps for people who wanted to smoke outside. I ordered a salmon dish which came with this amazing sauce and basmati rice. The salmon was perfectly cooked but the rice was lacking flavor. Not a deal breaker. They had a great list of desserts and free water - uncommon in many of the restaurants we had been to. All of my friends really enjoyed their meals as well - duck and scallop over risotto. They each got dessert and we split escargots which came in an order of 12 in a pesto sauce. This was the most common way we were served them in this are. The only strange moment was when the waiter came with our check, we expected it to be handed to us so we could split the total but instead he waited and saw us frantically trying to remember the cost of our items and what each person owed when he realized we wanted to split the bill so he mentally did it for us and then waited as we paid. It was a bit awkward and not a great end to an otherwise pleasurable dining experience. This restaurant also had an upstairs which would have been neat to dine at ! If you're in the area I'd recommend for a nice dining experience and flavorful food with some traditional French cuisine! read more

I really enjoyed my food and experience here - it was super close to our hotel and there were a ton of people sitting outside drinking and smoking on a Friday afternoon. They had happy hour drink specials and it was fairly decent seating. We sat in the tarasse because it was so hot inside but the waiter was super nice and helpful. Good drinks for happy hour - I had two caipirinha that were delicious but not sure they contained much alcohol in them. My escargots were delicious and my duck confit was cooked wonderfully. The steak tartare was ok - a little mushy and could've been a bit bigger in pieces, less flavor than some other places I've tried. The steak and frites were good, just a little fatty but a decent place with good food and awesome service! read more

Didn't know what to expect from a Parisian restaurant but this was good enough for me! I had lamb shank and potato with, of course, onion soup to start. It was fantastic and only sry me back like 25 euros for both. Latisha had steak and it was reasonable. Best thing about Paris so far is that wine is all on tap (I.e. From a box) so you can get as much or little as you want. 50cl is enough for 2 at dinner and very reasonable price. Stopped by the first morning of our trip. It was near the Hotel...we had 2 breakfast specials which came with a large omlette, coffee, juice and toast. Very inexpensive and the omlettes were good. Good people watching. read more

Terrible experience. I went 5/16/2016 at night and asked for the special which was a plate and dessert. Asked what the special plate of the "jour" was in my broken french and the waiter replied beef salad. At the end I got charged TWICE for the salad 8 eur each because he said I asked for a plate and that is double meat. WHAT ?! why would you charge double and not let me know. I felt scammed.The Tiramisu was also dry and not to my liking either. At the end, the waiter gave me the wrong change by 2 eur. Had to call him back. Not sure if it was an accident. I'd like to think so, but the double charge on one item, makes me doubt it. OVERPRICED AND NOT GOOD. WORST EXPERIENCE IN PARIS. read more

Such quick kind service. Explained everything in English and even pointed out a way to buy the "menu" and save money. Here for breakfast and definitely a carb load. It is difficult sometimes in Paris to find an out of the way location. However I had a lovely lunch 2 days ago at the La Porte Des Indes - Terrasse Galeries Lafayette. It is on the Terrasse (floor 7 of the department store Galeries Lafayettes). Do not be daunted when you exist the escalator and you are surrounded by people just sitting around taking in the view. Enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower and the Grand Opera as you walk to the extreme left end of the terrasse to the narrow entrance to the restaurant. Once there everything gets much quieter and serene. The staff is fantastic. Then just have a glass of wine and a lovely lunch. Tip for Tourist.....they speak English and offer multi language menus. read more
