First time coming to Paris, so of course I wanted to try the infamous Carette! My friend and I decided to try and go on a Sunday around 10:30-11am. I was very worried about the lime being extremely long due to the time we came at. But when we arrived we were told it would be about a 30 minute wait. The manager asked if there were any groups of three available and luckily we were able to get a table quicker than we thought! We were seated outside at a very small table. The tables are very close together and it is extremely hard to move around the chairs, etc. the interior is a little less tight, but nonetheless it is still a little chaotic to go about. Service was good and our food came out within about 10-15 minutes of ordering. I loved the classic Parisian atmosphere and really enjoyed being outside. But I definitely think it's an experience and the price reflects that. The hot chocolate was extremely rich and luscious--like nothing I've had before. So we never made it to Angelina's but this was the number two hot chocolate spot in Paris. It did not disappoint at all. We were greeted and we're still full from dinner and told them we would be back, and the manager remembered us and took us right away to a seat inside asked us where we were from and extremely kind. The gentleman was originally from Ireland so he spoke perfect English as well as fluent French of course. The hot chocolate was perfect for the cold rainy weather, but very decadent. Make sure you ask for a glass of tap water to wash down the richness. It will cost you about 12.5 euros but it will give you 3 or 4 cups per hot chocolate, which is more than enough. The quiche was really good as well. Very moist and flavorful.
