    Hamburgers & Sandwiches ⋅ Grenelle - 15éme - Paris, France

AKA Le Fils du Boulanger. We stopped here for lunch before making our way to the Eiffel Tower. It's super close to Champ de Mars, only a couple minutes away. Small bakery with a few selections of pastries, baguettes, and other bread items. We grabbed some hamburgers, sandwiches, and drinks. Prices are a little on the high side since it is a touristy area. Unfortunately, we weren't too impress with the quality of the food here. It didn't feel fresh, and the taste was subpar. There's a couple of chairs and tables inside and out, good for people watching and relaxing as folks stroll by. The line to order can get long, almost out the door. Communicating in English was good. But I would take my euros elsewhere.

Cute little pastry shop a couple of short blocks from the Eiffel Tower. This place caught my eye because when we were taking a taxi somewhere the day before I noticed a line out the door. We decided to take a walk here from our hotel and grab some goodies to bring home with us on our last day. They have a huge case filled with delicious looking french pastries and cookies. There's also a smaller case with paninis. We weren't really expecting anyone in there to speak English so we were prepared to point our way to what we wanted. We were pleasantly surprised to find they also spoke English very well. For 14 mini macarons and a baguette we paid 16 euros. Everything was fresh and delicious! If you're staying there to eat they have some outdoor tables. Proximity to the Eiffel Tower makes this a great stop if you're sightseeing.

We came across this pastry shop in our morning prior to visiting the Eiffel Tower. We really wanted a great croissant and while window eating we saw a glass full of different types of croissant and my mind went spinning. My girlfriend and I tried several different flavors while we were there dining in and took some on the go since we knew we were going to be a few hours inside the tower or waiting in line for the tour. We picked up a ham and cheese, cheese, almond and your traditional croissant. I'm not sure if it was a lack of communication or a language barrier but I want the croissants heated but they were given to us at room temperature. Don't get me wrong, they were quite tasty even at room temperature but it's never the same as a warm fluffy buttery croissant. The almond croissant even at room temperature was quite delicious. I wish I could go back and try the croissant's warmed up to see how good they really could have been.

Fantastic bakery, the best cakes, pastries and bread in Paris. Nice and friendly staff. I got my first baguette from here.

We had a hard time finding this bakery when it was raining. Look for a bakery with a red awning called Boulangerie Sicard. The small bakery had assorted cute pastries. The workers were very tourist-friendly. We ordered hot dog, pates au saumon and coca cola for our brunch. Hot dog (5,60 €): pretty tasty skinny long dog inside a baguette, covered in melted cheese. The bread was kinda hard to chew. Pates au saumon (5,90 €): we got the wrong order. We pointed at the dish that looked like pasta with pates au saumon label and ended up with salmon panini instead. The worker later on explained that they didn't have anymore salmon pasta. The panini had melted cheese, tomato and salmon pieces inside the bread. Coca cola: European cute long skinny canned cola. The soda has less carbonation, compared to American cola. We came back for espresso and cafe au lait within the same week. 3 stars!! Frédéric Sicard is almost yummylicious!!

We came here because it locates near our hotel. Everything was just okay. The bread of the ham & cheese sandwich was a bit cold and hard. The croissant was good but nothing extraordinary. The person behind the counter was friendly and spoke English.

We stopped in here on our honeymoon since it was so highly reviewed and we were not disappointed! It was the early afternoon (we had not yet gotten past our jet lag) and we ordered a few pastries and espresso. The pastries were still very fresh. Espresso was strong - loved the jolt to blast away the remainder of my jetlag sleepiness. Service was friendly and helpful - we speak just a bit of French, and that was no problem here. The wifi password was displayed for ease of connecting right on the counter - as a foreigner, I appreciated this very much...we were easily able to plot our exploring for the day quickly on their network instead our our slow international data service.

Jambon et Fromage Baguette (ham & cheese--sooo good!)

Delicious Jambon et Fromage sanwich (€5.4). Close to the Eiffel Tower and just the perfect quintessential French sandwich. Everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious. Walked a few stores down for a drink and brought it back and sat outside. Perfect, quick meal!

This bakery convinced me I knew nothing about bread before I stepped through it's doors. I wish I could crawl into the warm, pillowy softness of a morning fresh croissant and die there. That death--that sweet, sweet death would be the most glorious, the most heavenly last breath one could take.

Stopped in for coffee and a treat. This bakery is filled with a vast variety of breads, croissants, sweets, and breakfast and drink options. We sampled a buttery croissant and it was crisp, light, buttery and delightful. The coffee was not the strongest in town but it helped start our day.

Not the greatest boulangerie in Paris, but it is one of the few within the vicinity of the Eiffel Tower. Stopped by after the Eiffel Tower and before taking the RER to Chateau Versailles. Grabbed a croissant, chocolat au pain and a jambon et fromage baguette. As well as two cafes. The cafes were good, and they were not nespresso pods, and were actually made fresh. They didn't have any sandwiches pre-made when I was there, so they made the baguette immediately which was really fresh and delicious. They have some English.

I came here on my first visit to France with my sister and brother-in-law. I had just finished my time at the Eiffel tower and walked over to this restaurant for a drink and a snack. I was seated immediately, waiting for the rest of my party. The staff were incredibly patient, allowing me to stay for the fifteen-ish minutes it took for my family to arrive. We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup. I did wish the restaurant allowed us to split the pot amongst our table. Nonetheless, I enjoy dining at Carette and returned on my second Paris trip with my husband. Anyone visiting for the first time should try their thick hot chocolate at least once.

I eat about half of it there on the stand up tables (if they're available.) Ok,,, it's one of those no frills joint that I like so much. You walk in, you bark your order to the cashier. She sets you up with your sandwich and tells you how much it is. You reach in your pocket, you pay her, she give you change and you're out the door. On to the next one. The sandwiches they serve here is pretty good. Salmon, ham, cheese, greens, tomatoes, onions, etc. Those are all pretty much created equal,,, what really makes the difference here is the bread. They make their own bread here,,, yes,,, own bread,,, from scratch. Flour, water, yeast, etc... all that good stuff. All that and a lot of love to create the perfect light and crispy on the outside and mouthwateringly chewy and tasty baguette you've ever put in your basic mouth. Anyways, the simple things are what I love,,, and Le Fournil Du Maine is what I call my regular joint. Thank you so much for making amazing sandwiches,, I'll see you again next time I'm in town. Pure sunshine on a plate! Their legendary Opera Cake is a masterclass in precision-layers of almond sponge, coffee buttercream, and dark chocolate ganache harmonize into an elegant, rich symphony of flavors.
