I've made it my mission to consume as many croissants as possible while in Paris and my mission brought me in here. The woman who runs the store was nice and very patient with my broken French. The croissants were good, not the best I have had on my trip so far but light and delicious. The chocolate traditional bread (not pictured because I inhaled it so fast) was the real star for me. It's the right amount of sweet without being overwhelming and has a nice fluffy texture with a firm outside. Definitely have to try it.

Nice morning walk this AM to this cute Paris Bakery. Enjoyed a croissant and cafe ole and then purchased some things to take home. The chocolate bread is delicious, I've never had anything like it. I also grabbed a salad and desert to go. A nice find.

The service was great. There was only one cashier/server. She did everything from start to finish. A line quickly build up after I got there. The wait wasn't long though, everything was pre-made. I got the almond croissant and the madeleine. The croissant was a bit hard and not as flaky as other croissants I had in Paris. The taste was there but not the texture. As for the madeleine, it was dense as a brick. It was too dry for me to ingest, even with my hot chocolate to wash it down. The hot chocolate was also room temperature and not that creamy or hot. I would recommend going to The Smiths Bakery instead.

A must when in Paris! Keung Amman is delicious. And I'll be picking up lunch for our travels today. This was yesterday's pick up salad. So tasty!!! Should have grabbed a croissant to go with. Hubby has the ham & cheese baguette. Simple yet good. I'll take more photos today to show all their deliciousness!

Almond chocolate croissant with cafè au lait. Wonderful

Great pastries, but a little pricey compared to other shops. Incredible staff however. Will be coming back here again soon!

We had sandwich and salad, both were delicious. But the real remark was the staff, incredibly friendly and nice. Will be back for sure

Angelina, Paris, France -- April 12…read more Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 stopped here for lunch after visiting the Louvre, drawn in by its reputation for having the best hot chocolate in the world. We were looking for a place to relax and refuel, and the experience felt a bit mixed overall. Arrival and First Impressions The space is elegant with classic Parisian charm. The line moved quickly, and we were seated with a great view of the dining room. It felt refined but still comfortable. The Highlights The famous hot chocolate lived up to expectations, thick, rich, and almost more like a dessert than a drink. We also had French onion soup and an éclair, both of which were very good. The pastries were clearly well made and thoughtfully prepared. The kids had chicken tenders, which they enjoyed, even though the tomato sauce was a bit different from what they expected. The Challenges The biggest drawback was the price. The meal felt expensive for what we ordered, coming in at €154 for a fairly simple lunch. Service felt slightly rushed as they moved tables along quickly. Final Thoughts We would likely return if we were nearby and specifically craving the hot chocolate again. It is a classic Paris stop and worth trying once, but the value may not justify going out of your way unless that signature experience is high on your list.

It really tastes like melted chocolate with a bit of milk mixed in to make it more drinkable. We went at a bit of an off time, late morning and it wasn't overly busy. We saw our server once and I couldn't recall who he was when it came time to get the bill. I asked a hostess walking by for our check and she told me to ask our server while walking away. We were able to flag another server down eventually but the whole process just took too long. The tables for four have chairs that don't quite tuck in causing for a bit awkward seating. If you like really thick hot chocolate, give it a try but otherwise ok to miss this one. Plenty of good hot chocolate throughout the city.

I came here on my first visit to France with my sister and brother-in-law. I had just finished my time at the Eiffel tower and walked over to this restaurant for a drink and a snack. I was seated immediately, waiting for the rest of my party. The staff were incredibly patient, allowing me to stay for the fifteen-ish minutes it took for my family to arrive. We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup. I did wish the restaurant allowed us to split the pot amongst our table. Nonetheless, I enjoy dining at Carette and returned on my second Paris trip with my husband. Anyone visiting for the first time should try their thick hot chocolate at least once.

I couldn't tell if this was a real apple or some fancy French creation made to look like one - that's how real it looked! The mousse and apple bits were cold & delicious and the chocolate shell was good, but not sure if it was worth the price at €7.5. + Pain Au Chocolat Cookie - Verrrry good chocolate chip cookie, chocolate croissant mashup. Only thing that we were missing was some good ol' milk! + Almond Croissant - Once again, delicious! Solid croissant and definitely a good grab and go candidate. = Citronnade - Was just OK. Lemonade that was on the watered down side, but was somewhat refreshing because I was dying of thirst. THE SERVICE ----------------------- - Employee who helped us with our order was friendly, but the cashier was a bit blah and not exactly the friendliest person, especially when we asked for extra utensils and napkins. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ - Smallish, tight interior that you can dine in at, but don't be surprised if the next table is sitting on top of you. + There are also 5 outdoor tables on the narrow street. - Entrance is tight too. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- + Even though this bakery is ranked highly on Tripadvisor, there was no crowd on the Monday morning that we swung by. The strawberry shaped dessert looked beautiful and was clearly made with a lot of care. Inside was a fresh strawberry puree that tasted good, but for 20 dollars it did not feel worth it. The flavor was fine, just not memorable enough to match the price. The cookie was the complete opposite. It was huge, perfectly baked, and easily the best thing I tried. The outside had a slight crisp, while the inside was soft, gooey, and rich. Every bite tasted buttery and balanced, not overly sweet. At 15 dollars, it felt fair given the size and how satisfying it was. Overall, La Pâtisserie du Meurice delivers impressive craftsmanship, but value depends on what you order. The strawberry dessert looks better than it tastes for the price, while the oversized cookie is absolutely worth getting and the clear standout.

Once inside, I had to order the mango pastry, the focus of countless drool-worthy social media posts. The attention to detail was crazy - from the slightly dimpled texture of the skin to the vibrant coloring, this was the most realistic-looking mango I've ever seen outside the supermarket. And the flavor did not disappoint, with a perfect balance of sweet and tangy that practically melted in my mouth. I also picked up a clementine pastry, which while not quite impressive-tasting as the mango, actually looked even better in person before I cracked it open. These pastries are take-away only(at this location? ), best consumed or chilled within an hour, so keep that in mind. As a dessert/pastry/fruit lover (and a tourist), it may be worth a stop and is certainly novel, but personally the almost 20 euro per pastry price tag will keep me from coming back.
