Food was delicious! We got the salad rolls, fried rolls, yellow curry and the Tom Yum soup. Everything was fresh, and the service was great! We definitely recommend

The flavor of the food here is spectacular! Everyone at the table was raving about their dishes. I especially like that when you ask for your meal to be hot there is actual spice to it. The only drawback was the fact that the air conditioning seemed to be broken and it was a bit warm inside with just the stand alone cooler, but the food more than made up for that.

Not sure where to start, a nice authentic Thai restaurant. The server was very friendly. Kept stopping by and explain everything about the food , the menu and the ingredients. He mentioned how they used really authentic fresh ingredients. Their lychee mocktail was really good and it had lychees in it and not lychee jelly. The kao soi is definitely a must truly. We got the platter for the appetizer for everyone to share. However if you go small group and would like to chose one or two things from there. I highly recommend their shrimp. Their desserts were good as well, forgot the name of the other dessert it was the special that day, I think it was sugar toast or something with ice cream. Highly recommend trying hard as well. The place was clean and well maintained. For a Friday night it was quite easy to find and get a table right away.

It was a Monday night and my husband and I were in the area without the kids for a couple of hours... When I suggested Thai food, he was game so we searched the Yelp app for nearby options and came across this place! They were doing some decent business when we walked in but we were seated promptly. It's a casual but festive ambiance - definitely with a local, hidden gem kind of feel. Service was friendly and helpful as we needed some guidance on what to order - everything sounded great! We went with a green curry chicken dish and a pad thai (the non-street food version). Both were very good, although the pad thai was a tad bit sweet for us. Portions sizes and prices are reasonable and we had leftovers too... I hope to return to try some other options in the future. Enjoy!

"It was like discovering a color I never knew existed before. A whole new crayon box full of colors." ― Anthony Bourdain, on having Thai food for the first time. As Thai cuisine is one of my favorite cuisines, I decided to have a birthday dinner here with some of my closest friends. I ordered two orders of chicken satay for the table, a duck curry for my entree, and I washed it down with a cherry temple. I also did a couple of sake bombs for my birthday and that's always a delight. The chicken satay was so surprisingly tender. I usually avoid chicken dishes while dining out in fear of dry, overcooked meat but this place does chicken well. I even let out an involuntary, "mmm!" when biting into the satay. As for my duck curry, it was a sweet dish. The lychee and other fruit in it comes off strong. Get it spicier to have a more balanced flavor profile. I would have liked more duck too but that's just because I love me some duck. Thai food isn't just food, it's a journey through flavors and this place does it well. The staff is super friendly, having taken a birthday cake we had brought to store in their fridge and providing plates and lighting the candles come dessert time. They also sing a fun birthday song!

I've been looking for a new go to Thai spot in Gilbert and I think I've finally found it. They have happy hour from 5pm - 6:30pm! There's an Early Bird dinner set which is a choice of a drink, one of the entrees and it comes with spring rolls and a Tom Khao soup. I got the Yellow Curry and it was so flavorful. One of the best yellow curries I've ever had! It's definitely a bit more on the spicy side. I got mild and it was more spicy than I expected, so if you aren't use to spice - definitely ask for no spice! The Pad Thai was also so soft and so delicious. I also loved the Tom Khao coconut soup that it came with. The place is well decorated and roomy and the service was attentive. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

One of my local favorites in Gilbert! This place has always provided FANTASTIC food and service. As others have mentioned, the owner is extremely friendly and, if you've been to Thailand, he thoroughly enjoys talking about his home country with you. The restaurant has a very casual but real Thai feel. My go-to's here are the pad Thai, the yellow chicken curry, and the khao soi. DO NOT SKIP OUT ON THIS PLACE.

This is my all-time favorite place to get lunch! And it's gotta be a dine-in lunch to get the full benefits! When you get the lunch menu, make sure to flip it over to ensure you're on the Lunch COMBO side (not the Lunch Special). The Lunch Combo comes with your entree, a free drink (I either get the Thai coffee or the Thai Tea), a cup of the Soup of the Day (the Tom Yum is my fave), and an appetizer! (I will say I've gone here several times, but went yesterday and the lunch combo has changed a bit. They used to have Chicken Satay (Gai Satay) on their appetizer list and I always got that. But now they've removed that option and I'm so sad :( Please add that back!! And it does seem the lunch portions have gotten slightly smaller.) But the food is still amazing. I always get the Rama Gai (basically peanut butter chicken) for the entree. Highly recommend this place for a lunch spot!

If you've eaten your way through Thailand like I did (five weeks, countless bowls of noodles, zero regrets), you know authentic Thai food when you taste it -- and Cafe De Bangkok is the closest thing to the real deal I've found in Arizona. Their Khao Soi is elite. Rich curry broth, tender noodles, perfectly crispy toppings -- it's the dish I dream about and the one I haven't found anywhere else. Their Chicken Satay with peanut sauce is dangerously good. You'll catch yourself contemplating licking the skewer. No shame, it happens. And the Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups? Straight-up comfort bowls. Aromatic, balanced, and exactly like the soups I had in Thailand. Plus the owner is awesome -- super welcoming and always helping out, which gives the place that "family-run, heartfelt" vibe. The menu is reasonably priced; and I'd highly recommend coming for Happy Hour for the best deals! If you want real Thai flavors in AZ, this is your place.

Absolutely the best Thai ever. Anytime I'm in Arizona I'll order. The taste was homemade and the staff was wonderful. I recommend 100%.

The basil chicken had almost no basil flavor at all. I only found a single basil leaf in the entire dish, which took away from what should be a signature ingredient. The Tom Yum soup was fine, but not memorable, and the spice level across both dishes was surprisingly mild for a Thai restaurant. Based on my experience, the strong reviews here feel a bit overstated. I was hoping for more authentic flavor and seasoning than what was served.

It's a clean, small mom and pop with open style booths down one side and a couple small tables towards the front. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us immediately and offered to sit wherever we like. We ordered fresh spring rolls which were very good, nice and fresh and large. The peanut dipping sauce was excellent. I tried the pad Thai and my mom tried the drunken noodles. I ordered 3/5 or "hot" and she ordered 0/5. The pad Thai was a bit wet, it could have used a bit less sauce. It was almost a soup. The noodles were good but there unfortunately was almost no spice. I was pretty disappointed, as I was really looking forward to sweating from some good Thai spice. 3/5 should be hot, not mild. Was the weakest "hot" I've ever had. I've had many 2/5s elsewhere that were far hotter.

The hosts are super friendly and felt lot of positivity entering in. Given the development of egg allergy I am limited to very few options at Asian restaurants. But to my surprise they had an option of removing the egg from the fried rice. So we got the usual pineapple chicken fried rice (forgot to post it) it's definitely a comfort having that. We got the crab puffs and a unique curry (don't skip on this one, I haven't had this anywhere else) the evil jungle princess..it's got shredded cabbage, mushrooms and chicken in coconut milk (that's all too it!) it was amazing! I didn't want the jasmine rice so they give you an option to swap for other things, I went with the steamed rice noodles (oh wow!) that entire combo was amazing! Paired it with the unsweetened cold green tea. We wanted something simple and non- experimental and were glad this place is so close, and the food is just amazing here! Nothing super fancy just good Thai comfort food! Good options of appetizers, mains, noodles, combos, curry's and desserts. To my surprise they even do vegan, gluten free and egg-free which is a plus!

Ta Lew...what to say…read more.. Clean, friendly staff, comfortable environment and relaxing music, good initial signs. I ordered the red curry chicken with a hot spice level, the usual as you'll know a bite of hades is in order. A fellow diner who ordered moments before us got the food first and was practically done by the time mine and my other diners food came. Granted they were getting busier and as such I can't hold that as a gripe against them. The food itself, meh. Presentation wasn't bad, but the floating red oil was slightly off putting. The chicken was pretty good and was accented by the flashing neon of green peppers and flare orange carrots. Yet the LEGION of bamboo shoots was quite overpowering. The curry itself was not hot (taste) in the slightest, I'd personally pinpoint it as a mild. The curry itself shared much the same flavor as the rice, garlic and sweet notes while lacking the creaminess/thickened texture of a non-soupy curry. Yes, the rice taste was...off. Overall I was not a fan. It's not bad, it just wasn't great. As stated before, the staff was really nice and the place was well cared for, positives for sure. And of course as always this is simply ONE of many menu items and just because this wasn't a winner, it doesn't mean they don't have one. But, I personally wouldn't endorse them on the curry.

We were greeted and seated immediately although there was about a 10 minute delay before we were able to get a beverage and order. We learned the ownership changed about 1.5 years ago, furthermore they had recently lost some staff. The service was slow, so please be patient and plan accordingly. We started our meal with the lettuce wraps appetizers. A fun and interactive dish where you build the wraps with Iceberg lettuce leafs and spoon ground seasoned chicken mixture with shiitake mushrooms, chestnuts, onion and garlic. It was a nice start to the meal, although good, not great. We ordered the Tom Kaa soup medium heat and Pad See-Ew Thai hot heat as our mains. The Tom Kaa soup is a coconut lemongrass soup which was our favorite, although we would request extra lemongrass as it was lacking. The Pad See-Ew was good, but lacked depth of flavor and heat, furthermore the dish and portion was smaller. See previous review. It was a mixed dining experience and leaves me feeling a little disappointed as Chon Thai Food is not that special restaurant any longer it seems. We will likely return at some point but can't say I'm excited.
