Breakfast sandwich

Great ambiance, place is pretty big, service was excellent!! The food was good but I was not wow'd by my chimichurri chicken sandwich. Yes it was good but not "oh em gee good"

Great ambiance, clean bathroom, great food, easy parking. Good for groups! For the breakfast specials, you are able to get half sizes for most dishes which are generously portioned. Food did take longer to come out so don't come on a time crunch, food was very fresh and delicious! I love coming to this spot for brunch with friends and highly recommend

A bit overpriced but nice for a Saturday morning brunch! $8 for coffees and $20+ for all the dishes - you won't make it out of there for less than $35 per person which is a bit wild for Chico. I ordered the Train and I'm glad I spiced up the French toast that comes with it - the maple bacon French toast was pretty tasty. I don't know that this will be my go-to brunch spot since the food did not wow me, but I would like to check it out in the evening!

Really wish Café Coda had an online wait system. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes, though their cute outdoor area made the time pass pleasantly enough, even with inclement weather. The lattes are solid: rich, not watered down. My Café Ibarra was decadent but still balanced, not overly sweet or heavy. The pork belly breakfast sandwich was the standout: actual pork belly (not just thick-cut bacon), beautifully seasoned and softer than Billie Eilish's voice. The lemon ricotta on the blueberry French toast could've leaned more lemon-forward for my taste, but as a lemon gremlin (lemlin?) I might be in the minority here. The chilaquiles were another highlight--great corn flavor in the tortillas, punchy seasoning in every bite, and a nice kick from the habanero sauce on the table. Delicious sausage and eggs cooked to spec on the full boat. One black coffee was missed in the initial order but brought out immediately when flagged.

I came for a casual breakfast. I left in a committed relationship with the Wise Guy, don't tell my therapist. That pork belly? Tender like it listened to Sade all morning. The rice? Fluffier than my emotional support dog. I got a bite of my daughter's boyfriend's Chilaquiles was like a Latin soap opera in my mouth: spicy, dramatic, and oddly healing- he even ate the black beans. The bite of my daughter's chimichurri chicken sandwich whispered sweet herby nothings with every flavor. I considered eloping with it to a quiet cabin in the Redwoods with Cafe Coda, you didn't have to go this hard, but I'm so glad you did.

Wise guy - rice, herbs, green onions, eggs, pork belly

Realized I haven't reviewed this delish brunch spot, so today fixes that! Coda is a place for tasty food and strong coffee. Love that you can get a French press coffee in its own carafe. Today, I ordered the wise guy. Love the herbs and green onions with the steamed rice. The pork belly was tender with a sweet glaze on it. The soy/spicy peppers were a great addition. Hubs had his favorite lemon poppyseed pancakes. They were very lemony and the berry compote was better than syrup in my opinion! Love that there is inside and outside seating and the beer garden area is a relaxing place to wait.

Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo! YUM! Plus a great cup of coffee

Beautiful patio dining for a beautiful fall day! The breakfast burrito with chorizo is delicious. Excellent coffee. Excellent, friendly, professional service. 5 star all the way.

Cheers to a healthy shot!

In Chico, this is a great place for breakfast, lunch or to just a grab a healthy "shot " or a fantastic espresso coffee! The chicken sandwich with chimichurri was outstanding on the softest focaccia bread I've tasted in a long time! The fat boy breakfast makes you feel like you might be a "fat boy" in the serving size but you keep wanting to eat it all the way to the end. Great service by Owen and a wonderful place to start off your day!

Chico Chai and a Matcha Latte

I absolutely love this place. I thought I put a review here for this restaurant but I guess I did not. My apologies. My wife brought me here to celebrate a huge accomplishment in my educational journey. We were happily greeted by wonderful service, a calm but active environment (everyone at different tables engaged in conversation), and the feeling that it was simply a good place to be. The menu was easy to read and anything we had questions on were answered by the person giving service. To this day, Café coda has the best chai latte I've ever had. It was warm, with just the right amount of sweetness and spices. Hands-down the best. The food came out warm and ready to eat. I cannot remember if we left with any leftovers because the food was so good and it was just nice to be able to be away for a little bit to enjoy time with my wife and celebration. Another cool feature that they had was a map in one of their back rooms to show where people were coming from that were visiting the area. Super cool place, great food, amazing service and as the kids say, "a vibe". Be sure to pay attention when you are driving to this restaurant because it can be easy to miss. Parking is available all along the streets but I believe they also have a parking lot which is not too far from their outdoor seating. We found parking just across the street which again was not too far. Definitely enjoy this place and will be visiting again very soon.

Vegetarian burrito sounded skeptical at first, but was actually really good; good size portion as well. Decent size to share. At first, it took us quite some time to get seated, but it was worth the wait.

Skip this place. Seriously. We arrived at 1:28 pm on Monday, September 7 2026. The sign posted on…read moretheir glass door stated they were open until 2 pm. and the red OPEN light was still on. We held the door for an elderly couple leaving as we entered, so for the sake of argument let's say we crossed their threshold at exactly 1:30 pm. "Hostess" ( college girl with messy hair under a baseball cap) immediately informs us they are CLOSED. No hello no greeting at all, just and abrupt , "We are closed." Huh. Sign says 2 pm?!!! She kinda shrugs us off with a parting comment, "we stop seating at 1:30." News to me, we've been coming here for five plus years and always between 1:30 and 2:00 pm. Never ever had a problem or had anyone tell us about this 1:30 pm seating rule. Ok. But I show her my phone. "it's 1:30 now" and she just shrugs and says sorry. Disappointed, we cruise over to The Farmers Skillet located a few miles away in Chico on Rio Lindo. We strolled in at 1:50 pm, noting they also close at 2 pm. I ask politely if we are too late even though our hostess already has two menus in her hand and a smile on her face. "Not at all," she exclaims and then says "Welcome". Service there was warm, and unhurried. The Roost could learn a lesson here. If your 24/7 policy is to stop serving half an hour prior to closing then it should be posted, and door locked maybe? I know Deja Vu (also in Chico, on the Esplanade) closes at 2 pm and they have the CLOSED sign up with door locked at 1:45 pm. We shan't be returning. Very disrespectful and unnecessary. IF in fact that IS the policy of this diner and not just the whim of a lazy student/hostess then we should still have been seated. It was 1:30 pm as we entered. Shame on management. Know your staff and make sure they are operating with YOUR agenda and priorities, not theirs.

I'm so glad I did because it did not disappoint! The cafe has a nice open and airy atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a medium pour over coffee, black, along with a pastry and spent some time just sitting, relaxing, and enjoying my morning. It was exactly what I needed. I enjoyed the coffee so much that I ordered another pour over to go. I also picked up an Oat Maple Leaf Latte and several pastries to bring back to my family. Everything was delicious, and my family enjoyed the treats as well. If I'm ever back in the area, Bidwell Perk will definitely be one of my go to places. Great coffee, tasty pastries, friendly service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Bidwell Perk absolutely nailed it. Everyone working there was genuinely friendly and provided excellent customer service. They clearly use high-quality beans, and as someone who drinks coffee black and is admittedly a bit of a coffee snob, that matters. I also grabbed a ginger snap cookie, and it was everything I hoped for: perfectly gingery without being overpowering, soft, and wonderfully chewy. We were only there briefly (mostly due to the prompt service) since we were just passing through on our way home, but if we'd had more time, I would've happily lingered and enjoyed the space. I'll definitely stop here again the next time I'm in the area.

Saturday September 12,2026 at 11:30am…read more Went in for breakfast and the restaurant was barely half full. After being seated, It took close to 5 minutes to get approached by anyone and was asked if I wanted a drink. Ordered coffee and a water. Close to 10 minutes later, my waitress came by to take my order. I went to the restroom and returned to find my water missing but my coffee was still there. Food arrived fairly quickly. The hash browns were completely overcooked with no yellow potatoes at all, everything was beyond crispy brown. The toast was cold and /or stale. Never saw my waitress after placing my order. Had to flag down some other employee for a box for my sausage and jalapeno scramble and my check. Considering the amount of employees in this place, the service was terrible. No one was rude but service was non existent. No one offered to refill my coffee or even came by during the 25 minutes I was there after my order was delivered. $25 for a coffee and scramble I've been to Nash's plenty of times and this was by far the worst experience. Crossing it off my choices when I come to Chico. Side note: there was a beautiful car parked outside.
