When our group of 4 first walked in on a Saturday afternoon, we expected a bit of a wait to be…read moreseated. Surprisingly, we were sat right away and our server came to take our drink orders quite quickly. All seemed to start well at this point. The place was bright and airy and they had a large menu to choose from. I ended up selecting the white grape drink, but had asked for light ice. The drinks took some time to arrive, but once they did, we noticed that my drink had so much ice in it that the ice was piled above the rim of the glass. My friends and myself were all surprised. I had to clarify with them if they heard me ask for light ice, to which they confirmed I had very clearly. We then called the server over and I reminded him kindly that I had asked for light ice, and asked if he might be able to bring one without any ice at all, if this is light. He was apologetic and said he would bring one shortly. Once he brought my drink, this time without ice as requested, he took our food order. I ordered the chicken croffle without cheese. Within 15 minutes all of my friends food orders had arrived except mine. My friends were adamant on waiting for mine to arrive before eating theirs, despite my objections. Additionally, they had all requested hot sauce for their meals and wanted to wait for that anyway. We ended up calling over the server at least twice to request the hot sauce on top of the first time, but didn't inquire about my meal yet as we all assumed that it maybe just took longer to cook. After another 15 minutes of waiting my friends called our server over and inquired as to where my order was along with the hot sauce. The server looked shocked and said he would be right back. We watched him return to the machine, double check the orders he had put through, and then run back to the kitchen. He promptly returned with my meal, which was now lukewarm after having sat in the kitchen for so long. We then again, asked him for hot sauce, which he went to get immediately and brought back to the table. While he was going to get the hot sauce, I noticed immediately that there was cheese throughout the dish and inquired with the server when he returned if that was in fact, cheese. He said yes and smiled. I reminded him that I had ordered the dish without cheese. He advised he would be right back and took the order with him. After a couple moments, he returned to advise they would have to remake the dish and asked if that was alright with me. I said yes, what else would I say at that point? After waiting another 5-7 minutes and watching my friends eat the majority of their meals (I insisted at this point that they stop waiting), my meal returned warm and correctly made. At this point, I could finally enjoy the delicious meal prepared in front of me. It truly was fantastic. The chicken was moist, the egg was perfectly boiled with a nice soft runny centre, and the croffle was crunchy and flavourful. I would absolutely order this item again. Although I felt the food here was definitely worth it, I would question returning unless I was certain it would be a quiet time for them as it seems the staff might have too much on their plates to keep up with demand. No part of my dining experience had gone as requested initially, and there were errors with my friends requests as well. The staff are very friendly, but unfortunately, the frequent errors and mistakes impacted our experience heavily. Of note, there was no change to our bill or any offer to make up for the numerous mistakes that were made, which was disappointing to all of us.

Food came out quickly, drinks were a little slow and one drink was forgotten but we came on a long weekend and they were quick about making when we mentioned it. Really enjoyed the sweet savoury French toast and smoked salmon eggs Benedict, both of my favourite dishes!

I recently tried this spot while I was visiting family in the area. I expected they would be busy…read moreso I joined the waiting list online ahead of time. I thought it wouldn't take too long since there were only two of us, but I greatly underestimated how many people were ahead of us. Upon arrival, there were still about 20 people on the list ahead so we ended up waiting over an hour. When we were finally seated, service was reasonably quick. Coffee is about $4 for drip coffee and about $7 for a mocha. We ordered both the eggs benny with bacon and the Dutch baby bowl to share. I was impressed by the portion sizes, definitely a good spot to choose if you're hungry! I had to box up almost half of my food as I couldn't finish it all. The Dutch baby has sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes and salad under the eggs, so it is quite a substantial meal. We both enjoyed all of the components to each dish, but for me, the bacon was absolutely perfect and my favourite thing on the plate. Thick cut, not overly fatty and had tons of flavour. I would absolutely order this again; I just wish there had been a bit more hollandaise. The server managed to always pop up at the right time for coffee and water refills, and was quick to bring the check when I asked for it. It was fairly loud in the dining room due to the number of people talking and eating, but not a deterrent to go back. I'd just try to join the wait list a bit earlier next time.

When I took off the lid, I saw that I t wasn't even half full. What I got of it was good, but who pours half a cup of coffee? And it was over $5! Next, I ordered the Pork Bánh Mi. The sandwich filling was delicious! The pork had lots of flavour and the pickled veggies were excellent. No complaints there. The bun it came on was as hard as a crouton! It was so dried out that it showered me in crumbs after trying to eat it. I took out the filling and scrapped the bread.

No worries though, there is quick turn around at Roadrunner! For a modest price, you get friendly service, fresh hot food, decent coffee, and great value. We stopped by on the weekend after an overnight visit in Langley, and did not want to have breakfast at OEB, Rickey's, or any of the usual chain breakfast places. This is solid breakfast joint, and it is evident that there are many regulars. Would absolutely return for some great fast diner food when I am in the area!

I'm not sure if there's a case but I like it, along with the kitsch-Ness here as a diner enthusiast. We went here for brunch and one my friends who's of Korean descent wanted to support them as is Korean owned yet offers the comfort diner food we know and love. I got the full croffle with strawberries & whipped cream which was a bit steep at $5 extra but it was good. The strawberries were plump and fresh. The actually croffles were soft, flaky and filling as it is a croissant-waffle. My friend got the crunch chicken Benedict which he shared with us and that chicken was so good. Very well-seasoned. Service was alright. We got the ol' overlapping service where one waitress gets our drink orders, and another comes for the same thing a minute later. There was also a little mix-up with orders but not a major deal. A nice diner spot that should we do brunch on a follow up visit, I'd go back.
