I love this spot - close to work, delish hot bar and friendly staff. Can't miss in rego park!

First time trying this place, I got a breakfast "sandwich" delivered and it is easily the worst sandwich I've ever had. Advertised as a bacon egg avocado toast, which oddly was served on a roll instead of actual toast, it came with a thick smear of what appears to be GUACAMOLE on both sides of the roll...? Why on earth did someone think it was a good idea to use guac as a replacement for mashed avocado??? It was so bad I literally could not eat the sandwich except for the egg and bacon on top. It was neither an avocado toast or an acceptable substitute for a BEC. 2 stars because I did not get sick from eating it, but the experience was such a turnoff I would not get it again... read more

While in the neighborhood for an appointment on one afternoon with utter hunger pangs I opt for something quick, simple in hopes for a very moderate price. A cold cut sandwich is simple without going wrong as one would hope, as one would think... I ordered one turkey, cheese with lettuce, tomato, and mayo on white bread. The result was no cheese and very minimal mayo for an utter eye-popping overprice of $5.99!! Having a minimal breakfast early in the morning to gone through the whole morning into the afternoon I quickly engulf the whole measly sandwich. Seating is available covered with filthy tables as their clientele do not bus themselves when completing one's meal. Business cards are available for grabs but no takeout menu. Server is curt, impersonal and stolid. As per previous Yelpers noted, basic utensils and napkins are not provided but must be requested to become available and this is a food service business... ergo, the food service industry sorely tanked!! read more

Cafe Bora Bora has been in the hood for awhile now. Located next door to Emerald and NetCost. As you walk into the Cafe, you notice the impressionable wall art that is on both sides of the wall. Very calming and nice to look at while stopping by and grabbing some early more breakfast or a late lunch. They have a wide selection of food. Veggie tuna here is hella good. Especially in the morning. Always fresh and a strong and hearty breakfast will set you back by $8-10. Thats a bargain right there. Came the other day and checked out the salad bar and hot food items. I basically filled the plastic container to the brim and it was $11. Considering I was a hungry hippo, it was pretty cheap. The food was great and salads were fresh. read more

GOOD place for a quick lunch. The sandwich was just the right size and the meat they used was very flavorful. The service was pretty nice and quick. It is basically a counter shop where you get your salad or sandwich and then take a seat yourself. They'll come and wipe tables, but you can put your own garbage into the bins. They didn't mind that I took out my own candy bar to finish off the meal. read more

Ordered from GrubHub. Extremely simple order: ham and cheese on a roll, tuna wrap, ice coffee with sugar on the side and Vitamin Water. Firstly there was no sugar. How do you forget such a simple request? Then you gave me Gatorade instead of Vitamin Water. Shouldn't you at least call me to confirm I'm ok with that change? Okay little spot right by the infamous Netcost. I usually come here before or after going to Netcost for some coffee and maybe a mini bagel with scallion cream cheese, depending on the time of day. I knocked off a few stars because the staff is not very friendly. They don't greet you with a smile or a good morning. Also, I have tried their food before (veggie Tuna in particular) and didn't really like it. I would def. choose Rego Bagels over this place any day, sometimes you just don't want to make the trek and go for convenience. The coffee is good though. I'll keep going for the coffee. read more

Every single omelette I order is prepared with quality ingredients and exactly as ordered. They keep the grills clean (no nasty bacon taste) and their bagels are always soft. Also the nicest and courteous staff. Don't need a smile (imagine you asked a woman to do this? The social media outbreak that would occur, don't ask it of male employees) but I do need a competent employee that gives me the essentials of a take out order. These guys always do! I used to go here to quickly pick up breakfast when they opened. I went today to order a bagel with two eggs, cheese and sausage; three bagels and two cold cut salads. They did try to help but there were three staff managing one order ---and they forgot to put the breakfast bagel in the bag. I called and went back to pick up the forgotten order. The guy's reaction was, " you forgot the order," laughed at me and did a "whatever" sorry. I was visibly sick--it was clear I have a cold and due to their inability to multitask, I made two trips to their store. They should have offered a free tea for the mess up but the "laugh at customer and accuse them of forgetting to put the order into a bag with the rest of the order" is ridiculous, especially for what is a bagel joint fast food place that requires quick turn around. I suggest others go to the bagel guys on 63rd Avenue off Wetherole which offers the same food but the staff are much more experienced and professional at getting orders processed very quickly and efficiently without mix-ups. Also, as I was waiting, a seamless customer came in for her order and I walked out as they were running around like headless chickens trying to figure out where the order came from. read more

We usually don't have a problem with delivery from here but today was pretty bad. After waiting 40 minutes for our delivery despite being a block away, I called 4 times with a total call time of over 8 minutes (9:28-9:36 am), finally someone answered the phone. I was then told that they couldn't find our address, the delivery guy got lost, and that he was finally on his way. If I wasn't 8 months pregnant and suffering from bad joint pain, I would have just gone over and picked up our order. Considering they deliver to our address pretty often, this is seriously unacceptable. As I write this, my order still hasn't arrived. Edit: an hour later, the order never arrived. We called to cancel, but that took nearly 5 minutes of calling to finally get an answer. They claimed they had a different address for us and that was why they couldn't find us. I'm used to them screwing up the order all the time but this is ridiculous. Never ordering from here again. read more

i give this place 4/5 stars only reason they lost a star personally was the service regarding one individual at the counter . i've eaten three times from here and three times the food was delicious , price was okay . ordered a bacon egg and cheese and bagel cream cheese , both are good and the bagels are good quality . the ambiance is your typical mom and pop kind of run down place regardless of this fact the food was good . The service is alright only reason i say this is because the first couple times was with these Spanish guys that if asked how are you , good morning , they'll reply i'm good etc the typical small talk. Theirs a Ukrainian guy or i believe he's the owner pretty big dude that isn't friendly as in in greeting customers or just asking how are you etc . He's too busy just worried about getting your order and you get a " hurry up and order " vibe and nothing wrong with that either at least would be nice to greet the people that keep your business up and running. read more

this is from two weeks ago, because my memory is horrendous, but I passed this place, somewhat inebriated, at 1:30 AM and that triggered my memories - remember in Beerfest when they proved "drunk memory"? the fact that there is a place in Rego Park which cannot make a good egg bagel - my favorite type of bagel - is depressing. even though it was warmed up, it didn't help. they should ban these things from airplanes, because you could definitely kill someone with the bricks ("bagels") made here. don't give me that shit about it being leftovers, or late in the day - this was at 1 in the afternoon. Not bad, what you get really depends on who's the cashier/getting the food for you. Sometimes I've gotten really skinny portions and other times more generous portions, especially in terms of lox and cream cheese. As another reviewer noted, the omelettes are nasty. I've also seen one of the Eastern European employees pick up the pastries from a knocked over tray on the floor, put them back on the tray, and act as if everything's totally ok. I've been going to this place since they opened in 2006 for both breakfast and lunch. Know the owner, great guy. But every year it got worser and worser, everything, service, food, ppl who work there. Service is very slow, new Russian speaking workers are rude, nasty, and very disrespectful, they let one go, they hire another one even worser. The only person I let make my food there is Luis, he been there the longest, he is fast, on point, and very respectful. Had the tall Russian speaking guy making my food(fries eggs and cheese on croissant salt/pepper, he made scramble eggs with ketchup on the old croissant, and then I came back to let him know, he gave me attitude and didn't want to change my order. read more

I used to buy my breakfast here everyday when i used to live in rego park. 2 blocks away from Bora Bora. Its been 5 years since i moved from rego park but my wife and i would go to this cafe every now and then to buy breakfast bcoz we both love their bagels. My wife's all time favorite is egg bagel with creamcheese and bacon! They are so nice and very homey! The place is very clean and cozy!
