3.5 Went a couple of times recently and was ok. Some seating available. The people there were nice when taking our orders. The bagel prices are higher than another place I usually go to. I got toasted buttered bagels both times - blueberry and the egg everything. Not the dense type, more airy inside with a toasty outside. I don't mind that though and I could finish one. Been stopping by Gotta Getta a bit recently and have really been enjoying their bagels. I especially enjoy the cinnamon raisin bagel with this walnut raisin cream cheese. It is so good. Also have had the everything bagel with regular cream cheese, too. Besides the bagels, I have also scooped up an egg sandwich or 2 as well as their french toast. Everything I have tried has hit the spot. Altogether, the store isn't too inviting and often it is cold when I stop in during the morning but I can honestly say that I have been down with their food. I got a cinnamon raisin bagel with egg & cheese, while my partner got a blueberry bagel with cream cheese. I also ordered a very berry smoothie as well. The cinnamon bagel was soft and freshly made. The blueberry bagel was the bluest bagel we've ever seen but very tasty! The smoothie was filling and you can tell the fruit was fresh, I was satiated! Definitely the worst bagel I've had in NYC since moving here this year. I got a toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. The everything seeding was sparse and the bread was unremarkable. It was barely toasted. But the worst part was a mediocre cream cheese that was applied with such quantity that it overwhelmed the bagel. I actually removed 2/3 of it with napkins on my way to the train which itself was pretty gross. I ditched it halfway as it was just not enjoyable to eat. In terms of service, things were a bit chaotic in the shop, so it wasn't really clear who was next in line. However, the staff was friendly and efficient. As for the bagels, I believe you can find better ones at other spots nearby. Personally, I think the bagels at Michael's, which is not too far away, are fluffier and more flavorful. I did really enjoy their choices of spreads, including some unique cream cheese and tuna salad options. No greeting from anybody. They added online ordering for pickup, but it wasn't configured right. If you wanted a bagel with nova slices, cream cheese, tomato, and onion, the price was coming out to around $23, as each component increased the price. So I switched to ordering a bagel with cream cheese, and added 2 slices of lox as an add on. The order was supposed to be ready for pickup in 5 minutes. I got there around 15 minutes later and they hadn't even started on it. When they did prepare the order, they put on a miniscule amount of cream cheese -- for which I had paid $3.40. Sad. read more

To her surprise she had the pleasure of paying for a $15 bagel with lox and cream cheese that did not have lox. No harm, some foul. Came here on a Saturday to get three bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese. They gave me two bagels with the smoked salmon and the third one is where they forgot to put in the smoked salmon. So I gave then the opportunity to make it right however, the so called owner does not know how to treat her customers. I came back the next day because one of the employees had said that they will give me a bagel with smoked salmon, complementary due to the fact that they had made an error on their part. At this time when I went to pick up the complementary bagel, i ordered additional bagel for purchase. The so-called owner tried to make me pay for the bagel that they originally stated would be on the house due to their error. I made sure she only charged me for one bagel. I feel like she could've took that time to set an example for her employees.. for a few couple dollars she made herself look bad in the establishment. I was firm and diligence on getting my complementary bagel. I'm not here to get anything free however, I just wanted what I ordered from the day before done right. Sadly, the so-called owner does not know anything about customer service. Myself as a business owner when a customer is not happy at my establishment I do my best to correct the situation. Advise establishment for customers into clients . I was not gonna go back-and-forth over a bagel with smoked salmon. Worse comes to worse. I have had Gotta Getta Bagel twice now without stepping foot inside the establishment. One of my employees lives nearby and brought me a sandwich and and bagels on 1 different occasions. I will start with the bagels, spreads and lox. The bagels are delicious, crispy on the outside, seasoned well and not too much dough on the inside. The scallion cream cheese was excellent as was the thin sliced lox. The lox sandwich with cream cheese, lettuce tomato, red onion and capers was outstanding. Very generous sandwich to say the least. If I had to compare it to Michael's Bagels on Ascan, I liked their crunch better than Gotta Getta Bagel. But this is a decent option in the area and it is a little cheaper too. Their bagels are bigger, more doughy and the cream cheese is a little runnier. They give you a heads up that it will take a while to toast the bagel as they only have one oven. I have passed this bagel shop many times over the years and never stopped inside. Until yesterday, the shop was clean, and of course do to the whole coronavirus issue. You can not sit down inside, they only allow take out. I ordered an everything bagel with there special cream cheese, there bagels are larger then most places you would buy a bagel from.and they give you alot of cream cheese. The cashier was very nice and courteous, only problem I had with my bagel it could have been a little bit softer. You think a place that gets free expansions due to covid by having a little hut outside would appreciate it and open it same time every day. 99% of people who go there in the morning, go on a schedule so you need to open on a schedule. You don't need to pay more tax on its use not more rent so be a solid and consistent business and open at the same time everyday. Update: It seems now they do open the outdoor seating every day at same time nice. But like many places, they are taking advantage of inflation by raising prices way above interest rates. I was at the AT&T store taking care of some business and got hungry. I stopped in for 2 bagels, 1 with butter, 1 with cream cheese. It turned into A Tale Of 2 Bagels. The bagel with cream cheese was excellent. There was plenty of cream cheese falling off the sides of the bagel. The bagel with butter wasn't even mediocre. Where I had copious amounts of cream cheese on Bagel #1, this bagel hardly had any butter. A good buttered bagel leaves your hands gooey. Not sure what happened to this place. This use to be our favorite place to go. Can anyone confirm if they changed owner? My wife and I recently went after not having gone for a long time. The bagels tasted bland and the tofo cream cheese tastes sour as if it was past it's time. The girls working the counter seemed confused and flustered with all the people trying to order and pay. As far as the ambiance goes it seems like there're trying to renovate while still making people food. So it's not very appealing. On a side not my wife and I also tried using the app "TooGoodToGo" a few days prior and even though we had made it on time to pick them up we found all of our bagels outside in the trash. Awful!! Got 2 lox and cream cheese for 30 dollars. Yup 30 dollars. There Is a sliver or lox paper thin and a dab of cream cheese. This has to be one of the worst bagles I've ever had. I will personally take my business else where! Please save your money. My wife is inviting on going back to complain but that ship has sailed. Forest hills bagels on Yellowstone is far far better and they are not cheap in there portions. I hope this review helps others. read more

Ya ever bite into your bagel of preference at a new bagel spot while in a highly condensed bagel area that you know well and think "this here bagel looks a bit familiar, i do believe I've seen him around town". The visual is usually not where the suspicions reside, its always in the bite. When that's farmiliar as well is when the wheels of my bagel conspiracy begins a rollin' on down the track, conductor telling me to "get aboard". But with a switch of the mind and track flip, I think I've stumbled upon my bagel conspiracies supplier, here and now. I think it is they, them, those here that spread and roll and sprinkle and bake, which is an argument for a better grade. This just might be the nexus of the bagel wholesale universe I've felt for a while does in fact exist. But I cant raise my grade, I dunno -- theres a few things about this place that just irk me, starting with the less than catchy name. Then there's the nine foot mirror that runs along side the legnth of the store which is like a visual magnet to the following. *us waiting in line that choose not to look at the oldies repetitively chewing to our left. *the non oldies that are also on our left that can bounce looks within two mirrors creating the Hall of Mirrors effect you might see at a run down 1980s amusement park. *those pounding the pavement outside heading North to hop the subway, its just a quickie head lift as they slip on by, but they're always peeking. Now here's the problem. All these peeks and glances all happening in (and outside of) the same place, at the same time -- its not exactly the most relaxing place in the world to start the day. As the line thins and the counter rumble rises you wait for the time to speak up, identifying yourself as "next" or face the pointing finger demanding you state your position. That really doesn't seem like my job as I'm discussing with my mental committees what schmear I'd like applied. I have no quarm with the bagels, they are rather good and I think some others buy and resell from them as to my conspiracy. Stopped in to grab a coffee before hitting the subway at Continental Ave. When I walked in, one worker was attending to the lone customer and two were by the cash register. Of course, they both disappeared into the back kitchen area when I approached, so I had to wait around to place my order.
