Everything Bagel wi to tofu scallion cream cheese

Used to come here as a kid and it was my favorite bagel. The bagels were fluffy with a crisp outside, just absolutely delicious. The bagels are still good but I don't feel like they are as good as they used to be throughout the years. It's nice that they offer tofu cream cheese options and is still a solid bagel spot. The staff is friendly and always smiling and the place is cozy and comfortable to sit in and enjoy breakfast.

    Plenty of choices

Don't be fooled by the outside storefront - this place is awesome! Delicious bagels with a variety of spreads. Opened early and on my way to an early weekend shift at the hospital, the staff were extremely kind and helpful. The menu has a variety of options and dependable breakfast sandwiches. The coffee is great tasting, and the bagel fillings are generous. Granted, there are plenty of good breakfast spots in this area of Astoria so it's difficult to identify features that help separate this from other spots. Food selections deviate from the norm, in a good way, though. They offer acai bowls, "overnight oats" and "overnight chia seeds," for those who wish to try something different. They have savory French Toast bagels right behind the cash register to tempt your appetite, and flaunt their rainbow bagels (for good reasons). I would certainly be back here to order my egg white bagel on a gutted poppy seed bagel + regular coffee - it's simply fast, efficient, and delicious.

Needed a bagel, got a bagel, does the job. Staff is nice, and a good price point for NYC. But there's not much you can do to make a bagel "super great" so location is often the deciding factor for a bagel shop.

Great service but the bagels are the star of the show and go down well. This is my favorite spot for bagels when I am in the area.

I ordered the Worth It Bagel ($16.75), which is their lox bagel with all the works although I skipped the capers on mine. My bagel was ready within minutes and I was on my way. The bagel is hefty and was enough for two meals. They also spread a good amount of cream cheese from both sides sandwiching the lox, onions and tomatoes. This is a delicious bagel amongst so many bagel spots in NYC. It's too bad their locations are not the most convenient for me, but definitely would recommend if you're in the area.

They gave a generous serving of the lox, and it went well with the cream cheese and everything bagel. The bagel was a bit too crispy in my opinion, but the overall bagel sandwich was quite good as all the ingredients went well with each other. Compared to the top bagels in the city, Utopia is a bit lacking, but still very solid. There's very few bagel spots in LIC, so this is a great addition to the area. Overall, I would recommend this place if you live in LIC and want bagels but don't want to travel into Manhattan.

They have stood the test (or taste) of time because of their delicious, freshly baked bagels. They have the perfect combination of a soft chewy texture on the inside and a wonderful crisp crust on the outside. There's so many options when it comes to what type of bagel to order, it's hard to decide because they're all so good. There is also a large variety cream cheeses, which are all made on the premises. You can't go wrong with the lox bagel - plentiful, flavorful lox, cream cheese and capers. I love their chicken salad. It's always so fresh, tasty and it doesn't have too much mayonnaise. The staff is friendly and attentive. The coffee is good and it's a perfect way to start your day!

There were two identical bagels in the bag so my friend went back in to pay for it despite it not being my mistake. I didn't ask for 2 bagels. I now had to eat a whole bagel and because it was a flat everything bagel it was a bit salty for me. Half would have been better for me. Outdoor area to sit available. Up charge for the flat bagel and for cc use.

There are certain gimmicks that I don't subscribe to, which is any kind of fusion in bagel form…read more (#1) Between The Bagel proved me wrong, in a way that I haven't fully yet recovered and as a result has become a go-to destination for me whenever I'm back in Astoria. They've done such an outstanding job across the board (customer service, price, food, etc.) that I am constantly thinking about going back. Located on the constantly busy (#2) 30th Ave, one wouldn't notice this place as being any different from any other bagel shop. There's hardly any seating but a steady stream of customers all throughout the day. The NSFW signage (#3) keeps the place fresh and interesting, if not extremely memorable. The first thing that is offered (and often complimentary) is their fried rice balls, dubbed "Ben's Balls" that are mixed with seasoned rice, kimchi, topped with a gochujang mayo that would wake up any sleepyhead. Each bite had a nice crunch, but the lingering effect of the kimchi makes it addicting. It is the ultimate complementary snack, a desired, potluck item, and frankly genius. This is not something I would ever consider getting out a bagel shop, but having had them I would gladly buy them by the dozens. Most folks are here for the Seoul Meets Bagel (SMB) and rightfully so: it's layered with chopped bulgogi meat, cheese, egg, kimchi, topped with gochujang mayo and is packed with flavor. While the dank ass pork sandwich is a crude name, but it's not hard to see why it's one of their best sellers. Their regular bagels are also excellent. Folks who are expecting a large variety of cream cheese may find it disappointing that there's only a handful in the display, but they do have lox, bacon scallion, tofu cream cheese, and some flavored cream cheese. For what it's worth, my toasted everything bagel with lox was fabulous. It was pillowy soft, nicely toasted, and extremely filling. Offering Korean savory bagels wouldn't be complete without actual Korean fare, which is also a part of their larger than expected menu. It includes items such as Korean fried chicken, kimbap, pajeon (various), bibimbap, kalbi, ramyum, and mandoo. This is in addition to the burgers, breakfast platters and sandwiches, and a number of pastries. The staff is mostly Spanish and English speaking, in addition to the owner Ben who brings Korean to the table. Prices are very reasonable for Astoria and I'm hoping they continue to stay that way. This spot is the ultimate neighborhood spot and I'm insanely jealous of all the residents in the area that get to enjoy this on the regular. ___________ (#1) Why mess with something that doesn't need changing? Oh, because palate + innovation. (#2) And incredibly gentrified. (#3) One sign reads: "My happy place is when I tell people to .... FU, KMA, MF, STFU, SOB, SMD." Oh how New York.

We came in and he knew we were first time customers from just us looking at the menu. We ordered the bulgogi and chicken bagel sandwiches, along with a side of onion rings, but afterwards he whipped out 2 free Ben's balls for us to try. They were really tasty and a nice snack if I didn't want a sandwich. While we waited, he talked to us more, especially since we weren't from Astoria but happened to be around there so we wanted to try it out. While we were waiting he also whipped out some nutella banana pudding and he told us to just help ourselves. It was super tasty and it was also funny because the sugar made me really happy since I was hungry already. He told me I looked really happy as I was eating it LOL, which I definitely was. After getting the sandwiches, the guy who was at the register also gave us 2 sour patch kids out of nowhere. The vibes here are fun and you definitely see Ben having fun while shouting orders to the back and engaging with customers. As for the food itself, the sandwiches were PACKED. It was hard to get my mouth around either one of them. I split them with my boyfriend so we could try both. The bulgogi one was really good but i felt like it could have used some kimchi to cut some of the richness and add a little more dimension to it. I actually enjoyed the chicken one a bit more because it felt like Korean fried chicken put into a bagel. It was soy garlic too which I love with korean fried chicken. I have also been meaning to go back because I have been craving that after having it. The sandwiches were so filling that even though we split both of them, I wasnt able to finish it and saved it for later. The onion rings weren't my favorite because they were kinda ones you find in the frozen section of the grocery store, but then again you wouldnt come here for those anyways. Aside from their specialty sandwiches, they also make regular bagel sandwiches and their prices are really great for what you find in NYC these days. I would definitely come back and recommend people to try their specialty bagel sandwiches.
