If you want Bagels go elsewhere! If you want delicious Hispanic food then go check out the buffet. This is a hole in the wall that few know of. I come here regularly and I love it. Everything I've had so far has yet to disappoint me. If you see the ribs with green sauce then grab them and don't bother with a knife. They fall right off the bone. If you want an early morning bagel and coffee then go to dunkin donuts around the corner.

Not a real bagel place but good if you are on the go, I guess. Stopped in here for a quick breakfast sandwich to go before work.

Pastrami on rye. Corned beef. Matzo Ball soups. The pickle of course. Those are the classics, the staples, the foods that warm one's heart. Jewish Deli concept started in 19th century New York City by German and Romanian Jewish immigrants, merging with Eastern European traditions. They used to be lunch counters on the Lower East, that now evolved into beloved institutions. Pastrami Queen's story starts decades later as the immigrants moved to further areas like Brooklyn, opening up shop there, and that's exactly where Pastrami Queen was born in 1956. When a joint has been making sandwiches for over seventy years, there is really very little that an online review has to add. The rapport just speaks for itself. This upper east side location has been open since 1998. While today's "queen" in the name honors the grandmother of the founding family, the original establishment was actually "Pastrami King." Semantics aside, these are genuinely timeless sandwiches. Perfectly rich, just fatty enough, served with a partially salted delicious pickle that's commonly known as "malossol" in Eastern Europe and Russia. A rather unusual item on the menu for New Yorkers is Kreplach soup, a Jewish chicken broth classic with meat dumplings. Personally, that's the only item that I did not find to be very well or traditionally executed: only one meat dumpling and the rest is cheap store pasta. Pastrami Queen is everything it should be. It's classic, it's timeless and in the most beautiful of ways, represents the soul of New York City.

The customer service was…read moreexcellent--the guys at the front were super patient, answered all my questions, and took the time to explain the menu, which I really appreciated. As someone who loves Katz, I couldn't help but compare the two. Unfortunately, Pastrami Queen didn't live up to the hype for me. The sandwich was good, but the quality and flavor didn't come close to Katz. I was also surprised that a plain roll costs an extra $2 and they don't even offer Swiss cheese. By the time I finished ordering, my sandwich came out to about $37, which felt way overpriced for what I got. Overall, the staff made for a great experience, but when it comes to taste, quality, and value, Katz is still the clear winner for me.

There was a line, of course, there always is, and the wait was longer than what we were willing to endure for fare as simple and as common as a sandwich. It was worth the 20-minute wait. We ordered the Milano special, packed with cold meats, tomatoes, pickled peppers, cheese, and lettuce between two soft sesame rolls. It looked magnificent. It tasted magnificent. It was a sandwich to rule all sandwiches. I'd brave the line for that any day.

The staff is super nice and eager to help. It feels like a special neighborhood gem and you can really feel the family owned vibe. 1. Proscuitto burtata (amore) - fresh fresh fresh and quality ingredients. The proscuitto was perfect along with the burrata, arugula and balsamic glaze on ciabatta which was sweet mix. We were deciding on this one and the proscuitto tomato but we are glad we got this one! 2. Chicken caesar salad wrap- I think I could easily say this is the best caesar salad wrap i've had. The dressing was light and not overpowering with the mix of the chicken, croutons and outside wrap was a truly stellar combination. Very fresh and wasnt soggy one bit. the cookies: small black n white cookie, rainbow cookie and chocolate sprinkle and all were hits! my favorite was the black n white because the icing melts right off the soft cookie texture and tastes more like a cake than a cookie. All were amazing and is a must try when visiting. absolutely rec when you're on the east side!

My family and I were in the city the week before Christmas just to see the tree at Rockefeller Center, so the energy was already special -- lights, crowds, that holiday feel in the air. It was a Saturday, so seating was tight, the wait was long -- a couple hours easy -- but we stayed. No complaints. No rushing. Just soaking it all in. The ambience, the noise, the movement, the culture -- all of it felt like part of the experience. When we finally sat down, it was worth every minute. That wasn't just a meal -- that was a memory. Family, city lights, Christmas season, legendary spot, good food, good energy. One of those moments you don't forget because it's tied to place, time, and people.

They list pastrami on their website, so I assumed it would be good. The worst pastrami sandwich that I ever ate. I was served some over processed meat on pseudo rye bread. It didn't even taste like pastrami and the texture was weird. Even the coleslaw was bad. Clearly these people know nothing about Jewish style deli. If you want real deli, go to Katz's.
