Egg bagel with tofu chive spread
    Vincent W.

First time dining here, really decent bagels and add ons. Can be pricey but worth it on occasion. I ordered the eggs over hard with tofu chive spread. But please notify them for a light spread if needed, otherwise they'll drown your bagel. There was too much tofu spread I had to refire my order. They accommodated, A plus service to the staff. I just wanted to have a decent egg bagel and they delivered. The oatmeal cookie was hard, I like mines soft but tasted decent. This is Togo only but there's limited outside seating during warm months. Easy to walk to from the 63rd station Q line.

Nova Lox Scallion Cream Cheese Sandwich
    Weijie W.

Ordered the nova lox sandwich and asked for a whole wheat bagel with scallion cream cheese. The service was really quick--I got my bagel in under 5 minutes! The bagel itself was cold and tougher than others I've had. The nova lox was fishy, and the cream cheese was rather cold and firm. It definitely wasn't fluffy and smooth like cream cheese I've had at other places. I ate half of it, and left the rest for later. I found that it tasted much better once left out at room temperature for a while, so maybe the problem was that all the ingredients firmed up in the fridge? I'd probably give the second half of the bagel a 4/5 after leaving it out at room temperature for a while.

Bagelworks is one of my favorite bagel shops in UES!! They have an amazing selection of fresh bagels daily and this is probably one of the best tofu spreads I've had!! The sun-dried tomato tofu spread is so flavorful and is way better than the typical scallion or plain option!! As SOON as you enter, they start asking you what you want, so if you're visiting this place for the first time, I highly recommend you look at the menu beforehand so you're not holding up the line. Other than this, the service is really friendly and efficient. There isn't any seating indoors, as it's a super small shop, but there's outdoor seating! Overall, love the quality of these bagels and can't wait to return :)

They are a little pricy but they are the best in this area. The staff is incredibly fast and efficient, and will listen to your order (even complex ones). They have a little seating area in the street, which is a great spot for people (and dog) watching.

Best NYC bagels! Every time it's perfect. Crunchy outside, chewy inside and not overly fat/doughy. I've walked many miles to get the everything bagel with egg/cheese/onion and avocado. And it's always worth it.

Toasted bagel here with cream cheese is one of the great simple pleasures in life. No, I don't really appreciate the line or the chaos at the ordering but they managed to get the order right and even though five bagels, one with lox, plus 3 drinks cost me $37, it was an easy process with great taste and chewiness that was just right. The inside of the store is quite tight, the counter long and a little difficult to speak over if you're short. Menuel is at the top and people constantly shouting back and forth as they prep up the orders. Lots of different kinds of cream cheese and various spreads for the bagels which is nice. A whole lot of people got everything bagel with bacon egg and cheese, I'll have to try this next time.

Unbelievably good! The line in the shop was an indication of the quality of these bagels. I got a lox bagel and the breakwich. I highly recommend the fresh lox, they put a good amount and give the option of adding onions, capers,or tomatoes. The ambiance is very casual, its standing room only inside and there are tables outside by the bike lane.

Catered some bagels here for work and everyone really enjoyed these bagels!! It's our go-to spot on UES for bagels

Bagelworks is a local gem! The are speedy and clearly extremely generous with their lox which is a massive plus. The bagel is night and fluffy with the crisp exterior (it's toasted obviously). They also have gluten-free bagels so if you have an intolerance but still want the lox experience - always a win. They have your classic deli spreads but if you're feeling adventurous the birthday cake schmear looked interesting and they have vegan options as well. The deli is small but there is some outdoor seating if you want to take it all in and not just eat it on the go.

Great spot to grab a quick breakfast. The service was great, I was in there maybe a total of 3 mins and had my sandwich and bagels ready to-go!

My favourite bagel place! I am so glad they made it through the pandemic. The always have a line out the door. I used to frequent here quite often when I worked nearby. No fuss, amazing bagels for a reasonable price (given it's in NYC and the UES). They have a large selection which are all great. They have tofu based spreads for our vegan friends. I sometimes prefer that one. Would definitely recommend!

Gluten Free Bagels - everything Tofu plain cream "cheese"
    Melanie C.

As someone who has been gluten free for 10 years I've still not had a true NY bagel experience.... until today! While there are other shops in the city who specialize in gluten free foods and happen to have bagels, this is a true bagel shop with gluten free options and the experience was incredible. The two gluten free bagel options are everything and plain. There was also a dairy free cream cheese option (tofu). The line can be long at bagel works but it moves quick! I ordered the gluten free everything bagel with tofu cream cheese and was happy to see the bagel had a great texture and tasted delicious!! Bagel works is a great option for groups with gluten free and non gluten free friends, where no one has to compromise! Highly recommend!

This time we got the lox bagel with scallion lox cream cheese spread, bacon egg and cheese on everything bagel, and onion bagel with chipotle scallion cream cheese. The lox bagel had so much smoked salmon which was great. My favorite, however, is still the chipotle scallion cream cheese spread. By far my favorite and just getting cream cheese makes the bagel pretty cheap compared to those sandwiches. Strongly recommend!!

The bagel was nice and fresh. Doughy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I'm giving 4 stars because there was a bit too much cream cheese for my liking and I had to try to wipe some of it off. I ordered ahead on the Doordash app so it was ready when I arrived but there was no option to add a note for light cream cheese. I didn't spend too much time inside but I noticed there was plenty of seating. There were a ton of different spreads in the case and the menus on TV screens had a decent amount of options for salads, sandwiches, and breakfast platters. Plain Bagel with Cream Cheese: 4/5

FOOD: We ordered a bag of 3 bagels-- everything, poppy seed & salt. The bagels were cute, medium sized and served warm/hot. We chose the scallion cream cheese which came in a lil container. Apparently the bagels are not made in the traditional manner, but they were still delicious with great texture and taste. We also ordered the tea (ok) and strawberry lemonade (yum). We enjoyed our bagels on the little countertop area outside. OVERALL: Definitely recommend! A different bagel experience than some other places (as in, those places where you are served bagels topped with cream cheese and other things) but we enjoyed the simplicity of the bagels and controlling the amount of cream cheese.
