So my daughter and I wanted to try some afternoon coffee but we wanted something different than dunkin so we decided to head here!!! Well let me tell you it was amazing such a quaint little spot!!! We ordered and went and sat outside on the patio which was so cute!!! We each had a cold drink and pastries and omg it was hard to make a decision!!! I definitely recommend this place for sure!!!

Stopped in today for our first time and we will be back! What a cute spot! Very nice inside and outside areas. We both had iced caramel lattes and they were very good. They have the espresso done right ... some places I've been lately the espresso is bitter and it ruins the drink! They know what they're doing. We both also had a warmed ham and cheese croissant which was yummy! They have bagels and other pastry options, gelato, and some sweets too! We will definitely be back!

A slice of avocado toast with microgreens, ketchup, and cheese is on a white plate on a tray, with a fork and knife nearby.

The best cafe around. The coffee and food is top notch. Our favorite place any day of the week.

Creamy Chicken Sandwich Lunch is a must! - Assorted sandwiches, pastries, and a cold beverage are displayed on a table at Cafe Barista in Suffield, CT, with a bag labeled 'Gelato Artigianale' and packaged snacks nearby.

Outside is decorated well, and with it close to the lake and the park its got lots of alternative seating options around. Inside is a little sparse on seating and decoration. It's very much a brand new location just getting itself set up. It's got a little of the macabre themes but it's light and open. So it's basic but has a little character. The got a house blend with a snickers latte. No coffee cups just to-go. Took my pics and began the trek home. The coffee was very hot when I got it. They brew their drip coffee in large brewing stands so it's a very hot brewing method. Lose a lot of the subtle flavor notes that way, but as it cooled down I was able to get the bright and mid notes. It's a strong roasted flavor mid with a little of the bright fruity notes on top. With better temp control, would probably get more of the fruit notes. Good coffee, just limited by the technique. The snickers latte was surprisingly pleasant. It had a decent amount of sugar but the roasted peanut flavor combined with the roasted coffee flavor notes really played well against each other. It really helped cut through the caramel sweetness and led to a nice sweet dessert like sip. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the lead brewer was happy to talk about their beans and process. They were busy though, so couldn't get all the details. But they know their beans and their roast. Price is actually kinda low for the quality. Not upset about that, but I suspect that they may raise prices as time goes on to match other coffee shops. They do make their own bakery items but the selection is limited. The cookie I had was a solid oatmeal raisin but wasn't unique or different. Just a well executed oatmeal raisin. As a coffee shop, it's still figuring itself out. Once it gets its character and refines its brew then it stands to be a strong coffee shop for the area. For now, it's great but basic.

The service was wonderful and attentive - all with a smile. Special shout out to Bramwell for going above and beyond. "And there's fire on the mountain Lightening in the air…read moreGold in them hills and it's waiting for me there" (Marshall Tucker Band) Fire On the Mountain has one of the most unique menus I've ever encountered. Seriously, where else have you ever seen breakfast quesadillas, catfish and grits, cheesecake cornbread waffles, smoked brisket hash, deep fried pork ribs, catfish, mushroom, and alligator tacos, and a Puerto Rican Rice Bowl all happily living in the same menu's neighborhood? And then, the icing on the cake was our server - a charismatic and uber-friendly gent named Bromwell who lights up the room with his personality. He made my list of the five greatest servers I interacted with this year. The restaurant's location is as unusual as its menu. You'll find it occupying the front space at the Suffield Commons Senior Living Apartments! Yup, as you walk through the restaurant and out their back door, you actually enter a common space for the housing complex. The restaurant itself has two dining rooms with booths, tables, and chairs and a bar with dining room chairs. That eclectic menu is chock full of breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices with Mexican and barbecue flairs. We were there for lunch and ordered two things. The first was an enormous Cheese Quesadilla ($9.35) with pork ($3.12) on a grilled flour tortilla served with sour cream and pico. It was a thing of beauty, cut into five thick wedges loaded with smoked pork. Our second item was a Caesar Salad (Half size for $6.23) with a side of smoked brisket ($9.36). I passed on the croutons and Caesar dressing in lieu of barbecue sauce as my dressing. I gotta tell you, the brisket was GREAT, a big serving of tender and juicy smoked beef cut into four slabs that must have totaled close to a half pound. We loved everything about Fire On the Mountain and agreed that we need to return for a proper breakfast when we are out that way or making a morning airport run. PRO TIP The restrooms are located in the housing complex's common space I described earlier/ Just exit the restaurant by the door in the rear dining room, and you're just about there.

"Top of the list King of the hill…read moreA number one" (Frank Sinatra) We've been to a ton of Italian bakeries over the years. But I don't think we've ever fallen as head-over-heels in love with one as we did when we set foot into the Russo Pastry Shop. It's one of the most visually stunning bakeries I've ever seen! Walking into the store reminded me of the moment in the Wizard of Oz movie when the images transform from black and white into color. That's because vibrant, bright, gorgeous colors are everywhere inside Russo's. An embarrassment of riches are everywhere in the form of cannolis, cookies, pastries, and cake slices, And if you want some savory treats to accompany your sweet treats, well... no worries because Russo has pizzas, calzones, grinders, frozen pastas, parmigianas, and soups. We picked up a gorgeous slice of White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake, and it was so fantastic it's hard to put into words. We went into their freezer case and picked up two entrees -eggplant parmigiana and chicken parmigiana. They were priced as a $16.99 BOGO deal. We had both last week, and the portions in the containers were easily splitable for the two of us. The chicken parm seemed to have more inside the container than the eggplant did, and we both thought it was better than the eggplant. In essence we ended up with four dinner portions for just $16.99. Do the math-that's a tremendous value. After you do the math, do yourself a favor and take a ride over to Russo's for a fantastic experience.

I all bought two slices of pizza - one was spinach ricotta, and other meatball parm. Both were very generously loaded w toppings. Both were very good, but definitely below New Haven-style.
