We wanted some coffee and found this cafe. The outside is charming. The inside is a little crowded - ok a lot crowded - but thankfully there were only a few others inside when we were ordering. The people were helpful. The cappuccino was stellar. The pastry.. not so much. Sitting outside and enjoying the ambience was worth it.

We have been to this delightful cafe year after year and were a bit sad when we saw the name change. But we had to check it out before passing judgement, and we were so pleasantly surprised!! Not only have the delicious coffee expectations kept up to standards, but may even have improved! We got house coffee without cream and both loved it! So tastey! We also got sandwiches. My husband got the buffalo chicken sandwich and loved how spicy and fresh it was! I got the BLT special and LOVED it! It was so crisp, fresh, and flavorful! The ambiance and atmosphere is wonderful! One of my least favorite things about the last place was that you couldn't get on WiFi. Now, they have WiFi, which makes it a much more viable hangout! Great coffee, food, atmosphere, and friendly staff: what more could you want? We look forward to returning to this cafe long into the future! P.S. Thanks for being open on New Year's Day! Happy 2020!

Most of the good reviews are from when this place was Seven Stones Cafe. It's had new owners for a little over a year and is now called Cafe Isla. Oh how I miss my 40 plus days a year sitting outside with a great coffee or latte and a pastry. No one of course like changes but I've been patient for about 11 months in hoping Café Isla would improve. Today was my 7th visit in a year( way down from 40). They say that's WiFi but it doesn't connect. The playlist although really good is too loud outside for you to be able to converse with your dining partner if you sit at any of the 3 tables near the building. These empty tables were never empty under previous ownership Inside The guy behind the counter had to ask me to repeat my order. My Irish Latte was barely warm not hot today. How does that happen? He handed it to me when I was in line. My muffin was dry and stale. I guess you get whatever is leftover from Friday on a Monday morning??? I guess I'll be back to just grab a coffee to go sometime but since it's worse than last time I can tell you it's only going to be occasionally. And I'll ask them to ensure my hot beverage is indeed hot. And I'll skip the muffins

Came here after a three-year hiatus since we moved to New Hampshire. The name is changed. The staff, menu, ambiance, and vibe is as good or better than before. There are a few more outside tables for the large crowds and several more umbrellas. Other than that, it's a Media institution. We got here on Memorial Day on a whirlwind trip but we had enough time to see the Media Memorial Day parade and we came over a couple of hours before to have brunch at the old Seven Stones, now Isla. My husband and sister had delicious quiches and I had the Power Protein Breakfast Sandwich, a multigrain bagel with egg whites, tomatoes, and spinach. And on top, I ordered a slice of lox. I added a dash of salt and a squirt of Tabasco and had it with my regular large almond milk latte, this time with LaColombe coffee. As usual, it was an amazing brunch with al fresco seats, people watching, enjoying a delicious Spring day and waiting for the parade.

Tried this place out on a chilly day. I appreciated the seating outside in the courtyard. I got the recommended Harmony drink which is basically a dirty chai with vanilla and cinnamon. Also got a piece of the flourless chocolate cake. I like the combination of the two together. Each by themselves I don't think I would do again. Outdoor seating, no indoor. Nice staff.

Nice chic cafe shop located in the heart of Media. It's a small place with unique coffee options. They have a small sit down area. I did not see table service, so I guess you order and then seat yourself. There was a small area in the front outside where you can enjoy the sunshine during warm weather. We had 'Harmony Latte' and 'Black and white' coffee. My latte was sweet with a hint of cinnamon flavor and smell. It tasted very well for an evening drink. My wife ordered Black and white which basically was hot chocolate with coffee. But it was very sweet. So, didnt enjoy that much. The place was reasonably full on Sunday evening. They had other baked options which I found a bit expensive. Overall, nice place to have coffee.

We stopped into this café after grabbing some breakfast on the street and needing a little more caffeine for the road. What we found was a very cute local spot that is serving up some great drinks. Two of us ended up with a harmony latte, and while I don't remember exactly what was in it, I remember how delicious it was! It was of sort of beverage that you make everyone around you try because it's so good. My best half had some sort of a latte that infused a red tea into it and it too was pretty amazing. There is seating for probably 30 people in a room just off the main coffee bar and there is a courtyard just outside. The whole place just screams of relaxing, catching up and enjoying something delicious. We were super full by the time we got here, but everything food wise looked amazing and if the quality of the beverages is any indication, I suspect that it's doing just fine! Great spot, great beverages, this is the place you should definitely try.

Really nice local coffee cafe in Media. My GPS had a hard time finding it as it's on Plum Street, but it's the part of Plum that's for pedestrians only. It's very close to the Olive Street lot by the courthouse. I was extremely lucky to visit on a nice day and grab a table outside. I had the Irish potato latte and an almond crossant. The cafe seemed to be very popular, which always makes me happy to see small businesses doing well.

This very morning he stepped into Van Horn's, secured two hoagies "to travel," boarded the flight from Philadelphia, and upon landing handed one to his waiting son as fare for the ride home. Even after crossing the country by air, the sandwich remained a perfect echo of home. Van Horn's plays no favorites. It feeds with equal care the souls who never left, the faithful and the wanderers who departed yet return whenever the heart grows heavy. Whether one stayed rooted in Media or lived the same boyhood as our traveler with daily walks to Rose Tree Elementary, counter duty at Old Chester Steaks, the proud opening of Joycelyn's, and countless 1 dollar meals sustained by Tiny T's Just sayin....Van Horn's delivers the genuine article. No compromises. Only home. Unwrap after the long journey, eyeball a long Italian roll soft and firm enough to hold its treasures across 3000 miles. Sharp provolone meets paper-thin stacks of genoa, capicola and ham piled high in the old-fashioned way. Oil and vinegar mingle with the shredded lettuce, the tomatoes, the onions all offer their crisp bite. Not a trace of sogginess. One bite and the traveler is transported straight back to the corner where he belongs. This correspondent has sampled every worthy hoagie from Delaware, to Chester, to the Main Line, and yep even South Street. Van Horn's does more than serve sandwiches. I ordered the Satchmo, a buffalo chicken, Italian hoagie, ham hoagie, 4 chicken tenders and fries which came to a grand total of $85. Phew. This was my first time here, but I've heard the food and cheese steaks were great so I was ok with things at this point. I placed my order for pickup and was told it would be 20 minutes. I came in around the 20ish minute mark and waited for 25 more minutes. There was only 1 other person waiting with me. I did see 3-4 other people come in pickup and leave while I waited, but it wasn't busy by standards. While waiting is when I when I observed how unorganized and dis shoveled the staff were. The lady upfront was kind, attentive, and seemed to be running the show putting orders together. But, when she asked for help she didn't get any. She asked another staff member to help bag a specific sandwich for an order, several times, and it went in the guys ear and right out the other. I could also hear them scrambling in the back working on my order, and complaining about how many Italian hoagie orders came in right at the same time. Maybe they were behind, maybe they accidentally let mine go with a different order? This is all speculation but they were definitely overwhelmed and it shouldn't have taken that long for my order. The cheese steaks were good, and the Italian hoagie was very hearty! They do not skimp on meat, but the hoagie bread was so hard most of it was thrown away. I don't care for shredded gums. Overall, not a good first time experience. Minus a star for the price, minus a star for the delayed pickup time, and minus 1/2 for the rock hard Italian hoagie bread. The steaks were good but everything else outweighed the food quality.

I see why my first rating was a 4 on the turkey, it's good but not blowing faces. To be fair, you gotta have awfully good fixins to take a turkey to a 5 count. You want to see it but it ain't easy not being cheesy. Kovacs got good fixins but it's deli style fixins, they're not going to the county fair tryna win medals. Kovacs does come correct on the bread which is such an obvious miss for many in the area. Nice soft airy hoagie roll like ya like it. The Italian though is the winner. The meat to sandwich ratio is elite, and the meats themselves were top top. I honestly didn't take time to pinpoint what about the meats were so good cause I straight inhaled this hoagie. Needless to say I'm coming back. Thus far best hoagie in the locale for sure.

He doesn't skimp on portions, and it's really affordable. I've been enjoying a Buffalo chicken hoagie, with the works! You may be surprised to find out that he is slinging meatball subs too, which he claims to be the crowd pleasure. After trying it for the first time, I can certainly see why. Healthy layers of cheese and you can tell he puts in time and thoughtfulness to his sauce and meatball recipes. We happened to be in Media for a late morning checking out the Free Shop for the very first time, a…read moreplace I had never heard about when we decided that a bite ti eat was necessary before heading up to the Glen Mills area for my younger daughter's haircut. After walking down State for about a block, we settled on 320 as a good place to stop to get something that would be tasty but also quick enough to get us in and out the door in enough time to be on our way but also provide a wide enough selection for the three of us to select something that we each wanted. Being fans of 320 Market in Swarthmore, I was used to this place when we went inside, although it is markedly different from the location that we usually go to. The space is a little bit more sparse and feels less like a market than the one in Swarthmore, but the staff is still nice, and the colors are bright, and the selections are still wide and vary across the spectrum of flavors enough to make everyone happy. I ordered pierogis at the counter as did my daughter, and my wife ordered spanakopita and then we were told to take a seat anywhere we liked. I do know that they obviously had to prepare everything fresh which is one reason that we like 320, but I also know, the spanakopita is coming from a much larger sheet and the pierogis only have to be fried and plated. For some reason things were taking an extremely long amount of time. The spanakopita came out relatively quick but was a little cold in the center. Still tasted delicious, but not ideal. However, the pierogis took forever. Not sure why because this was prime lunch time, around 11:30 and they weren't busy. Either way, when they did come out, they were played brilliantly, but I had to ask the wonderful guy at the counter to put them into containers so that my daughter and I could take them with us due to our fine constraints. He was more than happy to help and did his best to arrange them nicely in the containers, but for some reason the manager seemed to have a problem with the fact we ordered them to sit down and then asked to have them put into containers. He protested to some extent, albeit not directly to me, but when I looked in his direction alarmedly (which I'm not sure is even a word, lol) he simply stopped and went back to his other conversation). Even after our fifteen minute drive, the pierogis were superb and obviously made by hand from scratch. While I do like the other 320 Market location better and go there much more frequently just based on proximity to my home, this one was also good. I would go here again, and if you are in Media and need a good place for well-made delicious foods and interesting beer and wine that you won't find anywhere else, this is definitely your spot to go. There are many different choices of restaurants in Media to select from, but this is one place that is set up a bit differently, more like a "market" as described in its name. Go and check them out if you've never been, I bet there's something there that you'll enjoy!
