Good breakfast. Polite and professional service. Food was delicious. Definitely a place I'll go back

I really like this place. Bien Sur, I am no connoisseur of French cuisine but I can attest from a foreigner's perspective that this is definitely one of the best ones I've had in Paris. Located right by Gare du Nord it is alway busy but very convenient to grab a bite while you're waiting for your train, late night stroll to get some food, and the food is always good. Language barrier is not huge- you'll be ok if you don't speak French. They are very patient and friendly here. Food also comes out decently fast for a French place which can take 30 mins-1hr depending on how busy it gets Their steak tartare is well made and melts in your mouth- the right blend of sour with the onions. Definitely must call this if you're in France and trying to find something very French you won't find in other countries I think their Moules Frites was the best I've had around in Paris Call the Escargot if you've never had the snails before- for those who wonder what these guys taste like they are chewy scallops or chewy clams. No slime. their Poulet was also excellent- well seasoned and the flavor is inside the meat after being baked. If you like chicken, get this dish French pastas aren't known for tomato based- think a light creamy buttery sauce paired with chopped up smoke salmon or chorizo which I highly recommend ordering if you like a pasta dish Their Grog is my fav so far in the Grogs I've called around Paris. Some places make it super hard flavored and others make it too diluted but this place seems to make it just right.

After a long day in Paris, this was the perfect spot for a nibble before taking the train back to London. Service was quick and friendly, and the meat and cheese platter a wonderful and very affordable at only 16.50. Some perfect French ambiance before heading to the UK.

Friendly and attentive staff. Croissants, Buttered Bread were good as part of a breakfast special. An additional order of a Crepe was satisfactory. A lil pricey but definitely a good experience in a bustling cafe environment conveniently across from Gare De Nord Railway Station.

Located by Gare Du Nord was perfect to grab a bite and drinks while we wait to board Eurostar back to London! Paris is a bit more crowded than last each visit but the staff in this location was very friendly and almost goofy and made our stay enjoyable! Great bone marrow and escargots and those bordeaux, yum!

    The burger was AWESOME!!

I was too scared to try anything more unique to Paris that was on the menu; I ended up getting the burger. And even though it looks plain, I was really impressed with it. It was one of the juiciest burgers I've had. The meat was so tender. The sauce on it was really great also. I'd get that burger again in a heartbeat.

My family and I (4 adults) dined here 3 times during our recent visit to Paris due to the proximity to our hotel (Hotel Whistler), and the train station (Gare du Nord) and all we can say is it was a wonderful experience! The servers were wonderful and personable and even though there was a bit of a language barrier, there was no miscommunication. The manager/co-owner was also happy to take time out and get to know us as travelers, but also loved joking around with us, even during a busy night. Of course the food was exquisite and the wine was plentiful, while prices are quite reasonable. The menu has English translations and it's easy to know what you're getting. The traditional Cassoulet was a favorite amongst us, while the steak, chicken and lamb chops are all top notch. Highly highly recommend!

Onion soup, some caramlization, medium beef broth, not too salty. Broth lighter in color than photo implies.

Fast, efficient kitchen, staff was efficient. About half tourists, half French I had La Choucroute Royale and the French onion soup, both were good. The pork shank/knee that came with Choucroute was falling off the bone! Menus in French, English, etc. Bathrooms: downstairs. Clean and functional.

Despit this restaurant being located directly in front of the train station, wait staff definitely provide better and friendly service to french speaking individuals. Tourists don't get the good service, never asked me if food was OK or if I needed anything. Even to get the check, I had to holler. Food was average, bread basked had mostly ends that were hard. No water was provided. They definitely want the business of tourists, but treatment is below average. I was just glad it was open on Christmas.

    Escargot! Sooooo good.

Located across the street from Gard du Nord train station, it's an easy walk for an incredible experience. If your nervous about French dining, the staff was very friendly and helpful to English speakers, and menus are available in both French and English. Getting in the spirit of trying new things, I picked a drink from the menu that I had never tried before. As I went to take a sip, the waiter frantically rushed over and explained the I would want to cut the drink with water and ice. Another waiter nearby explained that the drink was very strong, and that to sip it alone would taste awful. They were completely right. Even with the ice and water, I probably wouldn't order that again. But still, the waiter was friendly about it. And it was a worthwhile experience. To continue trying new things, my husband and I decided to order the escargots (snails). WOW! They were amazing. The bourbon garlic sauce was incredible and left us wanting more. If you ever have the chance, try them. We also ordered mussels, and they were equally as good. With the friendly staff, convenient location, and excellent food, you simply can't go wrong. If you're in the area definitely stop by for a meal!

Did not care for the food. Bland and pricy. Nothing we got food wise was good at all. Only thing good was the beer.

We started with Oeufs mayonnaise, which is a hard boiled egg topped with mayo. This was quite a simple dish, but definitely got us prepped for the meal. They initially made a mistake on our order and sent us the veal fingers. After rectifying the mistake, they ended up comping it, so we got an additional appetizer to try. The fried fish went well with the tartar sauce. For the mains, we got the bavette frites with bearnaise sauce and steak tartare with frites. Both dishes were delicious and satisfying, the flavors were excellent and each bite had me wanting more. If you haven't tried tartare before, give it a try here because it was delish! For dessert, we shared the Paris-Brest, a choux pastry topped with mousseline, pralines and roasted hazelnuts. We enjoyed sharing it and it made for a sweet end to our dinner. Overall, this was a great meal to start our trip, everything we had was delicious and my expectations were met!

The staff was all very friendly and inviting and were happy to recommend their favorite dishes to us. My wife ordered a French onion soup and one of their famously large salads, which are served in these big bowls. I decided to try the chef's special, which was a beef tenderloin a la rossini (truffle sauce and foie gras). I'm not typically a foie gras fan, but I figured since we're in Paris that I'd give it a shot. I'm very glad I did because it was absolutely delicious. The steak melded perfectly with the truffle sauce and fois gras. This was all served with potatoes au gratin, and blanched green beans. Everything was perfect. I also ordered two large beers. A Grimbergin blonde and a Kronenbourg ale. I love how both beers were served in their respective brand's glasses. Such a nice touch. For dessert, we ordered an Apple Tarte Tartin, upon a recommendation from one of the staff. It was light, sweet, and served with some ice cream and créme fraîce. This was such a great dinner all around. Great food, great vibes, which all lead to a great evening. Would definitely recommend!

For New Year's Eve they offered a special menu, 79 € per person. The host outside who convinced us to splurge for the special occasion said our kiddo wouldn't pay full price. Spoiler: that's not how it went. We were seated in back by the restrooms, with the sound of the hand-dryer serenading our meal. From what I could tell, apart from the staff, there wasn't a single French-speaking person in the whole place, a bad sign. For appetizers we had the escargots, which could have benefited from more garlic and butter, the foie gras, which was fine, and the smoked salmon, which was a generous portion, and very smokey. For my main, I ordered the duck in honey sauce, which would have been a good plate, served with salad, but for some reason they plated it with cold vegetables: green beans, bell pepper, and eggplant under congealing butter--Tasted like it was made ahead of time and they forgot to reheat it out of the fridge before scooping onto my plate. Total fail. My kiddo got the knuckle of lamb, which was fatty and gristly, although the mashed potatoes underneath were delicious, and my wife chose the fettuccine with shrimp and scallops, which were both overcooked and the scallops were crunchy, which was weird, served over way too much plain noodles. The desserts were good, but we paid over 240 € for three, with only one drink each, making it both the most expensive and also least delicious meal of our trip so far. Staff were friendly and attentive, and all addressed us in English, even though I'm fluent in French, which makes sense for a tourist trap. Would not recommend, unless maybe you just get the big cheap salad, seemingly that's what the 5-star reviews are for.

No tourists; only locals and repeat French customers. We sat outside. ORDERED: *FOIE GRAS House made and simply DIVINE on freshly toasted baguette bread. I wanted to take a bath in this. OMG! *DUCK CONFIT Beautiful leg served with scalloped potatoes. The meat could have been a bit more tender, but overall a good solid entree. *FRUIT TART Good, but not great. The pastry could have baked a bit longer. Loved the sweet plums though. We also ordered a bottle of their excellent Cabernet France for 17 euros. My darling didn't care for their espresso and I was not impressed with their version of a cappuccino. Dinner altogether was 73 euros. OTHER NOTES ============= Some of their staff members are from Le Mascote restaurant, but since the restaurant is currently closed; they cooked and served here.
