We stopped in for an early breakfast. Staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. I ordered the eggs Benedict and enjoyed it. My sister got the soft boiled eggs. I was impressed she ate them out of the shells without cracking the shell! We happened to be here during a delivery. It was very cool to see the doors open up on the floor and small lift come up to put the food in storage. At the end of the meal, we were each given a pearl chocolate. We chose to eat inside since it was a bit chilly this morning but they have a nice outdoor seating area on the sidewalk. read more

We stayed at the Hotel Jardin d'Eiffel next door and made Bar du Central our main eating-and-drinking-place for a three day visit - we had one lunch one day, dinner the next and a glass of wine on the third day. The interior as well as exterior is friendly and welcoming, as is the staff, at least on the second and third visit, when it became clear that we were "temporarily regulars". For lunch I had a cheeseburger which was very good. Highly recommended and among the best dishes I had during this visit to Paris. 5/5. The next day for dinner, a steak which was not as delightful but nevertheless quite enjoyable. All in all, cozy, likeable and satisfying dining experience. Recommended. read more

Very nice and cosy atmosphere. This place is what you would expect from a French cafe situated between the Eiffel tower and Napoleon's latest home. Great place for dinner or just a drink. Sitting at the terrace, the bar or inside will provide you a general feeling of well being and being stuck in time. If you went to a show or to a sporting event or just went and did weird things that no one wants to know about but it's later in the evening and you are hungry and in the area ( or not ) and looking to finish off the evening the right way. My friend -- An American living in Paris for 30 years -- took me here. He says Bar du Central is in the "American Ghetto" of Paris, named such because so many Americans live in this area. I did run into a Cubs fan here and we cheered each other. Possibly because of that, the staff is quite proficient in American English and quite friendly. Terrific service. The menu is more comfort food, basics as opposed to haute cuisine. I felt terribly guilty ordering a cheeseburger, but after a very disappointing cassoulet where I ate only 3 bites, I was craving something hearty. Absolutely great little place. Had dinner across from our hotel. My burrata and tomato salad was simple and perfect. The bread was delicious. My daughter's cheeseburger looked juicy and she said she enjoyed it a lot. We had a tarte pomme and ice cream for dessert; high quality vanilla bean ice cream is always a plus in my book, and the tarte pomme was fresh and delicate. On top of everything, the ambience is fantastic, good music and decor, and the waiter polite, friendly, and the appropriate level of attentiveness. I'd definitely recommend it both for dinner, and just for grabbing a drink with some friends. read more

Ate lunch with my family here on New Years Day 2020. We walked in and were seated in a lovely booth in the back of the crowded seating area. We ordered entrées (cheese plate, and onion soup) and both were delicious. They had these lovely little olives they served as well. Sublime! For the main course, I got a Croque Madame (cliché, I know) and it was perfect. We skipped dessert, but got coffee. I had a divine noIsette that made my day. A great meal in a lovely spot. Very close to our hotel and looks very typically French. Staff very welcoming and attentive through out our evening. Food not particularly hot, dry and over priced. Drinks very expensive. For a simple meal and a bottle of wine it was far too much money, almost 100 Euro. I would expect to pay this in a good restaurant not a bar. I would not recommend this bar/cafe. read more

Come here for brunch! Cosy atmosphere of a Parisian bar bistro, busy on a Sunday morning. Great croissants, chewy baguette, very good dark chocolate in the pain au chocolat. The brunch includes a bowl with strawberries and pistachio, scrambled egg, decadent French toast, a random Cesar salad and a quark like cheese - all served on a tray. The only downside: the cappuccino was terrible so choose the cafe au lait instead. A good option in any case for a lazy Sunday brunch. read more

A great bar in the 7th. Extensive drinks menu, delicious mojitos. Their food menu is limited, but what they do serve is excellent. We both had pasta and it was very fresh - we wanted more! Be sure to get a serving of ice cream after your meal! The service was decent - we were there at a slower time, so I'm not sure what it would be like when it's busy. What I really enjoyed about this bar is its vintage feel, but you can tell it has been recently refurbished. Great atmosphere and decor - a nice change from other pubs that can get quite outdated. read more

Great place to have a nice breakfast/brunch/lunch before visiting the eiffel tower. Great Location! I can only recommend the continental breakfast which is an absolut steal for only 12€. The croissant had a crunchy exterior with a soft and light interior and a great taste! The orange juice is homemade, a symphony on anyones' lips, and the hot chocolate definitely does its job. Two boiled eggs with breadsticks create a great balance in the in the breakfast. Accompanied with jam and butter the continental breakfast is finished off with two wonderful pieces of bread. Though the menu at the entrance might come across as expensive, the meals are worth every pennie since the plates are rather large and simply delicious. TOTALLY WORTH IT! read more

Decided on the cheapest red wine glass which happened to be an amazing choice it was so full bodied at such a great price! Macaroni and Cheese as orderly as I've ever seen. Plus it's delicious and filling too! After a long walk from Notre Dame, we were ready for a meal, and I, a glass of red. The carbs were necessary as was the wine, but the charms of the place weren't in the food and drink alone. The staff was excellent. Very accommodating to two weary non-French speaking travelers. They were recommended by a salesmen in a nearby store and I'd say the recommendation was a good one as we didn't break the bank but enjoyed a tasty carb filled treat on our way to the Eiffel Tower. The side salad was delicious too. If you're in the area, they have a sister restaurant across the street and down a block where the food is supposed to be just as good. They were a bit busy (and overly loud) on the night we visited so this place worked much better for us. This is a review for the related bar around the corner. Great place, a bit fancy atmosphere but maybe because it was new years. We came across it by accident looking for a taxi. The bartender was nice, and so were the staff. The only downside was that I paid 14€ for a Smirnoff Vodka plus 3€ or so for cranberry. that's expected of for something such as Grey Goose or Belvedere. that's the only downside I found of the place. Stopped here on our last night to try to the escargot and beef tartare. The escargot was delicious and one of the better ones that we had on the trip. Beef tartare was not impressive but worth a try. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a restaurant in NYC, except the waiters will speak 4 languages, switching from English to French to Spanish among the different tables. Near the Eiffel Tower too, so if you're in the area and need a place to sit, here is a good option. read more

Menu straightforward and simple. we started with the smoked salmon which was simple but fresh, light, and delicious with toasted bread. I had been intrigued to see how the French do hamburgers, and I was NOT disappointed. One of the best - great bun, lovely medium rare cooked patty, cheddar cheese, arugula, and a mustard spread sauce. Pommes Frites on the side. My husband had the Steak Tartare, another sure winner. Honestly the prices of this place do not match the quality of food at all. My boyfriend and I paid more than 100£ for a burger, quinoa salad, escargot, and two beers. I know we were in a relatively expensive neighborhood, but we ate at several other places on the same street and nothing compared to how overpriced this was. My hotel recommended this place and it seemed to have good reviews on yelp but my experience was completely opposite what everyone is saying. After entering, I was seated and given the English language menu (I'm American) and then the waitress never came back! A friend of hers came in and she sat down next to her at the bar and completely ignored the customers! I waited about 15 minutes before putting my coat back on and leaving. I won't be coming back.
