Magret de canard thym et miel, avec purée aux truffes
Fiona L.

We are in Paris visiting for a few day, and we stop there for diner. We just order the main, special of the day: duck breast and truffle purée. It was really good with a nice honey and thym sauce. We like the spot, it's a cute little café with a typical " cafe parisien" décoration. The prices were also raisonnable.

Warm goat cheese salad. Amazing!

Perfect place for brunch! Highly recommend. Goat cheese was amazing. Excellent wine and great service!

on my quest to find the best spritz this one fell short. Though the orange was present the flavor was watered done. I would have like to see more prosecco in it. Like this spritz the service was mediocre. Overall not bad but not great.

My "French" cheeseburger.

My friend -- An American living in Paris for 30 years -- took me here. He says Bar du Central is in the "American Ghetto" of Paris, named such because so many Americans live in this area. I did run into a Cubs fan here and we cheered each other. Possibly because of that, the staff is quite proficient in American English and quite friendly. Terrific service. The menu is more comfort food, basics as opposed to haute cuisine. I felt terribly guilty ordering a cheeseburger, but after a very disappointing cassoulet where I ate only 3 bites, I was craving something hearty. My waiter understood and encouraged me to order what I want. "It is a French cheeseburger, totally different!"

Very nice and cosy atmosphere. This place is what you would expect from a French cafe situated between the Eiffel tower and Napoleon's latest home. Great place for dinner or just a drink. Sitting at the terrace, the bar or inside will provide you a general feeling of well being and being stuck in time. If you went to a show or to a sporting event or just went and did weird things that no one wants to know about but it's later in the evening and you are hungry and in the area ( or not ) and looking to finish off the evening the right way. This place is for you. Ps: steak tartare: get it.

Very close to our hotel and looks very typically French. Staff very welcoming and attentive through out our evening. Food not particularly hot, dry and over priced. Drinks very expensive. For a simple meal and a bottle of wine it was far too much money, almost 100 Euro. I would expect to pay this in a good restaurant not a bar. I would not recommend this bar/cafe.

Night cap at our daily spot.

Amazing staff, delicious coffee and cocktails. We stopped here daily when staying down the street. Atmosphere is really special, beautiful cozy and refined. Our waiter one evening was very personable and spoke the clearest American English I had to ask where he was from.... He's French! Accepted us like a local even tho our French was near nonexistent. Wish we could put this place a short walk from our house back home.

Good service. Was able to accommodate my vegan needs, my 12 yo daughter's tastes, and my wife's garlic allergy.

Great location with limited view but worth it if you can grab one of few seats outside with the view of the Eiffel Tower.

The cocktails are very fun, and they even have a few beers here if that's your thing. The servers speak fluent English, and it is popular with foreigners, but it's not a tourist trap by any means.

So the little red door has a cute red door but the bouncer lets you in through another door (novelty observed haha). The man takes your jacket and umbrella (what a gentleman!) and sat us on the second floor. While the space between the couch and the seats were rather small, we were able to manage. I got the permaculture and resilience. The resilience is a club favorite and my favorite too! The way the sorghum, pineapple sage (syrup), pasquet cognac, and savanna rum all tied together was a blessing. I was going to get a third but I was tipsy by my second drink. My first drink was the permaculture and while I was considered it would be strong, it didn't seem strong to me. I love clarified dairy in alcohol so this was a win in my book. It consists of chestnut, butter, wakaze umeshu, avallen Calvados. The bar let's you stay for an hour but if you sit elsewhere, you can stay as long as you want. 5 stars and I hope to come back someday!

Unassuming, this cocktail spot in the 7th is a perfect start to a fun evening. My prescription began with an old fashioned coup tailored with "The One." Citrus vodka based classic. It was very good! The champagne foam on top was a first for me. Made the drink trendy I suppose lol. I hung out downstairs until I got hit on by a cute photographer, I'm engaged, so that's a no! But a good sign for single people. It's an environment that creates open conversations. I guess I wasn't done exploring when I ventured upstairs and sat right in between to groups of friends chatting. To my left what looked to be grad students talking about future career plans. They complimented my dress, very nice of them. And to my right a group of friends discussing the topic of dating men who like "going in the back door". One of the ladies seemed very against it but mentioned, "if he really wants to I will atleast one, but i do not prefer it." The mood is intimate and chic. Overall a great time!

Boyfriend turned on the flashlight on his phone to see the menu, as it is quite dark in the bar, but was asked to turn it off by the obnoxious bartender. She said it was too "aggressive" to use actual light to see the menu. He turned it off, and I used the background light from my phone to make out the drinks on the menu. All of them were very "stylish" and expensive, with a lot of unnecessary ingredients. When a table opened up, we moved to it with our drinks. We decided to just have one cocktail, then bail to go to a friendlier, less complicated place. The waitress for our table had an attitude and was just plain rude. Never going back.
