Obviously this place is in a touristy location right by the Eiffel Tower. They know that and cater to tourists (especially when it comes to schmoozing for a tip which are not required in France). Albeit, my group and I had a great time here and it didn't seem like a rip off or anything--probably because we had a fun server who would sing. It was a relatively busy evening and our party of 6 got seated quick without a reservation. The drinks were good and the food was delicious. I recommend the following: - Escargots - Soupe à I'oignon gratinée - Foie gras de canard maison (always get the foie!) - Bœuf bourguignon traditionnel et ses pommes sautées

Beef bourguignon

Very cute place near the Eiffel Tower! Our waitress Anna was AMAZING! The frog legs were good! The salad with faux gras was great! The beef bourguignon was great! Skip the steaks. Very very chewy. First time I didn't eat my steak.

From the bottom to the top. Eifel Tower vibes.

Leaving the Eifel Tower we stopped by for a bite. The escargo was awesome and so was the steak.

Another Pre-Covid review. Thank you Maggie (LA) for your hotel recommendation and because of that, the Eiffel Tower, the Big Bus Stops and a plethora of very fine restaurants were just walking distance from our hotel lobby. All you had to do was remember to look right-left-right, so you wouldn't get run over. Counter intuitive I know but after a few days - you get the hang of it. The manager of Cafe Beaujolais stands outside of the restaurant, inviting people in and we were enticed on this particular day. It was packed inside and it was such a nice day, so we decided to dine outside, like all the other Parisians. The escargot tools were hard to maneuver but we were able to get those little critters out of their shells. It was very buttery and good. The ribeye was very juicy and a little pricey but I would definitely order that again. Let's not forget the complimentary French bread - it was the real deal. This has caused me to get French bread from Jewel every now and then, in an attempt to recreate the moment - not quite the same. I'm apparently Cafe Beaujolais dreamin, on such a winters' day.

Cheeseboard and escargot

Stopped by for a sidewalk snack on our way to the Eiffel Tower (about 2 min away from). We tried the cheeseboard, escargot, and French onion soup. As you can see in the photo the cheeseboard was very large- enough for at least 5 people! The escargot & soup were delicious. The soup was a perfect temperature and full of flavor. For drinks, we got the house champagne which had a delicious butter taste and golden hue, and a gin & tonic. Bathrooms are inside downstairs. Service and music was good. Because it was winter, there were blankets provided for outdoor dining.

Atmosphere: Cafe Beaujolais is a nice and charming cafe that is not too far from the Eiffel Tower. The outdoor seating was perfect for the pleasant weather, but there were some bugs biting us. Service: Although our waiter was overall friendly, we had to often remind him of our requests for refills or the check. One major thing that bothered us was that the waiter indirectly pushed us for a tip, which we knew wasn't required in France, but we still felt pressured to add it to the bill. In this way, Cafe Beaujolais definitely felt like a tourist trap where the waiters could earn a little extra cash off of non-Parisians. Food: We ordered a cheese board and foie gras for the table and the tagliatelle bolognese and bacon cheeseburger for our meal. The cheese board came with 4 cheeses on top of lettuce and tomatoes tossed in a vinaigrette. The cheeses were good but did not feel unique or special. Likewise, the foie gras did not really exceed our hopes and expectations for foie gras in Paris. The story of mediocrity continued with the pasta and bacon cheeseburger. The pasta was good but could have used more sauce and seasoning, and the bacon cheeseburger felt generic and plain. We also had a beer to go along with our food that unfortunately may have been the best part of the meal as it helped wash down our rather flavorless meal. Overall: Cafe Beaujolais lived up to the "French restaurant by the Eiffel Tower" expectation by image alone. The food was alright at best, and the service was subpar and borderline scammy at the end. We do not recommend having a serious meal here, despite its convenient location.

Great food & service...Our last dinner in Europe. We decided to eat here before we walked back to our hotel & wanted to wait for the Eiffel tower to light up at night. "You learn a lot about someone when you share a meal together."-Anthony Bourdain

Soupe à l'oignon gratinèe (gratined's onion soup) ~ €10

After a scenic trip to the Eiffel Tower, we looked on Yelp for somewhere nearby to eat and Le Beaujolais popped up. Le Beaujolais is a very nice, charming bistro, within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. There are lots of small indoor and outdoor seating and it seemed like almost all the tables were eating outside on this nice day. At first, we chose to eat inside, however, as soon as a table cleared up outside, we decided to move outside. Apparently, the wait staff on the inside is not affiliated with the tables on the outside and as soon as we went outside, he would not help us at all. So be it. To be honest, all of the food was really good. I had the onion soup, beef bourguignon, and tried the grilled salmon. The gratined's onion soup (€10) was very tasty and had lots of cheese. Although not large in size, it actually very heavy and filling. The salmon (€17) was small in size, but tender and delicious. With the fresh tomatoes and buttered greens, it seemed like the lighter and healthier option. The beef bourguignon (€18) is beef stew in a red wine sauce with sautéed potatoes. It was very flavorful and the potatoes were surprisingly really good too. It comes in a mini stew pot and is hearty and very filling. Overall, except for the salmon, it was a very heavy meal. Prices are a little expensive, but the food is good. Service was mediocre at best. Definitely not a bad dining option if you feel like splurging on a meal.

Chicken burger

I had been planning on eating here for months. I wasn't disappointed at the result. Early afternoon meal, semi busy, and the service was spot on attentive. The meal was amazing. Their bread Resembles a croissant type of bread buttered and grilled. The chicken breast was battered cooked perfectly not overdone. They topped it with cheese sautéed onions lettuce and it was absolutely amazing. I found myself eating very slowly as to enjoy every bite of my chicken burger. The server who waited on me was very attentive Polite and made my experience perfect. I will be returning to try dinner another evening

Filet de bœuf 200 gr, purée €34 ($38)

Great service and lovely interior, but you can't have the words "Steak House" on your sign outside and then serve me the hardest (even though it was cooked medium) steak of my life. It was listed as "Filet de bœuf 200 gr, purée" which would seem to indicate some form of beef filet. What I got couldn't be cut or even bit into and for €34 ($38), I expect better.

Very good food for a decent price. I was surprised by how little my final bill was and the selection of dishes is plentiful

Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie - An amazing French onion soup...

The most life- changing experience with French cuisine. This is what French culinary dreams are…read moremade of. Get the appetizer grilled foie gras with side of greens, you won't regret it. The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.
