Check out this place for super friendly service and onolicious grinds. Da balla head guy can cook some mean food!

Café Anasia - Clams, agedashi tofu, chicken, and saba drizzled with ponzu! - Sports Bars Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

This place is alright, I guess... Though they claim this place to be a "Vietnamese Cuisine" place, it's not really Vietnamese unfortunately... Unless they're referring to the Vietnamese Style "Coffee Shop"; FYI: Viet Coffee Shops in Vietnam are actually liquor bars than the conventional "Starbucks Style Coffee Shop" Food was alright. I recommend the nachos. Though their burgers & "Vietnamese" food unfortunately needs some work. The burgers need to be in bigger size in meats & should use sesame seed buns. Should offer lunch grill sometimes too. Biggest problem about why this place I gave low scores is because of parking. DIFFICULT to find parking. Fortunately, I lived nearby & decided to walk over to this bar. What's good is alcoholic beverages & the drink mix. Nachos are good too. The rest unfortunately, still needs work. That's why my overall score for you is 3/5 stars. Sorry Cafe Anasia. My recommendation to help get higher scores would be do lunch grillings & possibly try to get more variety in the dining menu. read more

My ideal type of bar. Cozy asian bar with darts and pool tables. The asian food is great and reminds me of home. My usual place to watch all the ufc fights, they have raffles for the big fights and give away prizes like sake and glasses. The service from the girls is usually always on point and nothing to complain about. Call to reserve a table for the more stacked ufc cards! read more

Cafe Anasia is a cool place. It's clean, not the least bit pretentious and also has some of that dive bar feel to it. We went there on Saturday afternoon to watch some NFL. They have pitchers of beer (mostly domestic), bottled beer and cocktails. There might be wine but I didn't notice. As far as seating, you can sit at the bar or in a booth. You don't feel like watching the game? No problem. They have pool tables, darts and...(drum roll;one of my personal favorites) a bar basketball game! You want some local flavor? We saw a guy rocking headphones and a santa hat. Apparently some people celebrate xmas all the way into the middle of January. While the kitchen wasn't open during during our afternoon visit, I was surprised by the variety of food items on the menu. The bartender recommended the wings. She also supplied us with bar snacks (peanuts and popcorn). Although I suspect it gets busier at night and for UH football games, it was remarkably mellow for a playoff game. We could get drinks almost instantaneously. And last but not least. They have a tiny parking lot right in front with roughly 6-8 spaces. Hope you're feeling lucky when you go! read more

I could have sworn this place was open in the 90s, but Hae Young said not. Beer and ice, just like a local dive bar should be. Pool, darts, karoake, tvs with sports, ono grindz, but i can't ever remember what I ate. Nevamind. Waitresses are always super friendly. Parking is kinda nutz, but what do you expect ovahere?!?!? read more

Try the Shaking beef and a side of rice...so good...

This has been my go to bar for quite some time now. There's everything you'd expect a good sports bar to have: Billiards, Darts, and even a basketball machine. The drinks here have never failed me. Pitchers of some better beers (New Castle and Blue Moon) can run for only $10 and fill about 4 glasses. Shots get poured pretty damn near perfect with a nice selection of liquor to choose from and shots from as low as $3 (not sure if they still do $1 shots), you can't really go wrong. Unlike other bars, they don't jack up their prices like crazy for food. $10 can go a long way here. Their fried rice comes in a huge portion and for $8.50, you have enough food to share or to definitely take home. Their cheesy garlic fries are also probably one of the most amazing things ever and at around $6, it's a steal! The quality of food is also pretty spot on and has their own unique flavor; not just tossed in a fryer or pan and served to you. The weekends can get pretty busy, but there are usually enough booths to go around. Service is a little weird as it seems that all the waitresses tend to the entire bar, but it just means that service is quick. We were hardly ever with an empty pitcher at our table and even refilled our waters quickly. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away from the touristy bars of Waikiki and just wanting a cool place to chill and have some good quality drinks and food among friends. read more

This is my boyfriend's favorite late night hang out spot. This place is kind of a hole in the wall. The outside isn't too attractive, but this place is popular. It is right next to Toma's Karaoke on S. Beretania. Across from Bella Mia. Drinks are cheap, food is good (kalua pig nachos are delish!). The only thing I don't like is the parking. The parking lot is extremely small, so you would most likely have to find street parking on a busy night. This place does get crowded, so if you want a table, you better come down early! The crowd here is very diverse. There's the younger crowd on weekends, and usually on the weekdays, it's the older crowd. Older crowd as in.. 35+ years old, I would say. Overall, this is a very chill place to hang out with friends and grab a few drinks. There's dartboards, megatouch games, and also pool tables. read more

Anasia is a chill local dive bar. It's a good spot to drink pitchers of beer with your friends. They have daily drink specials as well. The night we went, the special was Patron shots, so we got a round of those. There is plenty of seating and there are a bunch of flat screens on the walls playing sports. They also have pool tables and darts to keep you entertained. The waitresses were nice and always came around to see if we needed anything. If you are looking for an unpretentious place to hang out with your friends away from the tourists, then this is a good place to check out. read more

Despite numerous friends going to eat or drink at Anasia and despite knowing 2-3 waitresses who have worked there as well, somehow it took me forever to finally try the place. I usually head out to random places to eat with my coworker on Sundays, she's my Sunday wife, I'm her Sunday husband, we like food -- It works haha. Anyway on to Anasia, pretty large place when we walked in bigger than expected and actually pretty decently crowded for a Sunday night too. A friend of my coworker mentioned that they have dart tournaments on Sundays so that's why there were so many people in there -- good idea to get some people in. ----- SERVICE ----- When we first sat down we got greeted pretty quickly and our first round of drinks came very fast. Our waitress was friendly, no complaints there, towards the end we waiting a little longer to be checked up on but we we're having a mellow night, drinking slow and a few other tables came in so it was completely understandable. So I'd say service was fine, not outstanding but not bad. ----- FOOD & DRINK ----- We were pretty excited to try some things on the menu after hearing good things about Anasia's food from yelp and friends. We opted for Agedashi Tofu, Miso Ramen and the Vietnamese style Pork Chops. The Porkchops were ok, the asian slaw was good but the chops were a little dry and just average really. The Miso Ramen had an odd flavor to the broth, usually when I think of Miso I would think of something more on the salty side but packed with flavor, this particular broth was much more on the watery side. Agedashi Tofu was good, generous portion I think we had 6 pieces? The broth was good, they sprinkled cut seaweed on top too which I thought added good flavor. They seem to have a good selection of drinks and specials, we even saw a little sign saying $1 Shots but it was a little hidden so we weren't sure if that's every night or just certain nights haha, imagine getting drunk for $10 -- probably not a good idea but interesting. They had a $2 jello shot as well but we didn't try that one. -----OVERALL----- That same guy who mentioned the darts also mentioned that the food used to be super good but they changed over chefs. Hilariously enough he actually said "I eat before I come", which I suppose speaks to where the menu is at now compared to before. Seems like a cool bar to hang out with friends and have a few drinks and I'd still be interested to try more things on the menu however our initial experience was "meh so so" in every sense of the phrase. read more

Happy hour deals. Spacious and great for sports watching. Low key and prices are moderate. Staff is friendly and helpful. Billiards and darts available to play. read more

Great place for darts, pool, pupus, and drinks. Only thing is when it's crowded, it's CROWDED. But when it's mellow, it's perfect. Parking can get a bit tight, but there is another lot right before the main entrance you can park. read more

The Value! Unbelievable, i love this place, and the value is unbeatable. I came here with my girlfriend, and overall the food was delicious.... given we did order entirely fried food so there was a little bit of guilty pleasure occurring. The Gyoza, fried rice, and ribeye are all on my list of repeats, and the price point is perfect. I will return, and recommend Cafe Anasia to anyone looking for comfort food at a great price. read more

Late night Pho and other treats, a few big screen televisions, and cold drinks. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There are many dartboards and a few bar sized pool tables. Since this place is near the University, it can get crowded on some nights...nothing is perfect. I enjoy being known there...it's like Cheers! All the regulars are also helpful with the waitresses so drink orders are usually filled quickly. My only gripe is that they took away the Golden Tee golf game and replaced it with Silver Strike Bowling. I would rather have Golden Tee. read more

Used to come here a lot one of my favorite bars. Good place to keep in touch with friends and if u like darts or pool even better!

First time 12-26-15. Walked in and service was quick. Our waitress was beautiful and so friendly. The manager came by twice to make sure we were getting good service and happy with our food. This is unusually great service for a dive bar. The atmosphere was perfect. Chill. Laid back. Relaxed. Not too loud. There were dart boards and pool tables and a couple of other games. The crowd was late 20s early 30s and not rowdy. The drinks were ok and reasonably priced. The onion rings were great! There really wasn't anything spectacular about this place with the exception of the service. The service was awesome. If you want some good bar food and to hang out with friends that you actually want to hear, I recommend this place. Can't rave enough about the staff. They smiled. They were polite. They were welcoming. The staff makes this place. read more

This is an unexpected find. Great bar atmosphere, clean and fun. The food is outstanding. I would have never expected this quality from a bar. Order the steak with chilis. Amazing. Save the sauce and pour it over your fries. The crispy fried rice was also great. The soy beans were the only thing that were not good. We ordered 6 dishes or so. I highly recommend giving this place a try!!! read more

What happened to this place?! Was here the other night and it took 15 minutes for the waitress to take our order, and another 10 minutes to get 2 beers. Wouldn't have irritated us so much if it were busy, but it wasn't at all. I've been coming here for years and it has never been like this. Never had a complaint about the service until now. Also, if you are hungry, eat before you come because you never know when they are serving food. The menu is limited to pretty much Thai food, there is no real bar food anymore. All new faces, just doesn't feel the same. Looks like we'll be looking for a new place to hang out. read more

Anasia's new menu is way better. Back to having Vietnamese food. Pork chop was not good before, but now is one of the best around. Bad thing about there is that it is sooo crowded and loud. Being middle aged I feel out of place there at times but all the bartenders and servers are excellent and they have many good TVs and they always have it on sports channels, a big plus. Pool tables are a plus too. read more

So far, this has been a good place to watch the Lakers post-season. I sit down in front of the big screen TV and watch Kobe "MVP" Bryant do his thing. Not too many Laker-haters and not too testoterone-fueled, with real nice waitresses who call me "babe" as in "Here's your beer, babe!" - this is an excellent sports bar for ladies who love the Lakers. read more

They usually show all the ufc fights and boxing. Come down and visit. read more

So... we came here after dinner. And, let me just say... dinner time was also drinky drinky time. So, by the time we got here, I was pretty intoxicated. BUT, I do remember some things. I remember our waitress being nice and always checking on us, and I remember the fries being amazing. I also remember there being a basketball shooting game, plus darts, PLUS pool tables. There were also ample amount of seats all around, even around the pool tables which is where we spent most of our time while there. If you're looking to have a chill night with some friends, this is definitely a spot to hit up. read more

This place has the most rude waitresses and bar managers ive ever seen. Came here last night to watch UFC and was seated at a table 3 out of 4 of us were there 1 friend was late. About 1 fight into the fights we were told if our 4th person wassent showing up we would not to able to sit down at our table we were given and have to stand. We had ordered enough food for four and had drunken more alcohol then for four people aswell. Our 4th was literally parking his car out side explaining this to the waitress she dident care. I then said I wanted a refund for paying the $10 dollar cover for the fight since we were obviously leaving and she said no. In the heat of the moment I said then I'm not paying she then said she was calling the cops. A buddy who was calm asked her to see the policy in which it says in which if all members of the table are not present you'll be asked to move. She brings out something that says if 75 percent of your table isent present we will remove you. 3 out of 4 of us were there and mind you our 4th was around the corner parking his car. Waitress was obviously racist and wanted to give her friends or what not a table. We were paying customers. By the time she finally got our check our 4th person walked in boy did our waitress feel dumb. I will never come to this place again and will make sure no one I know does either. Terrible business ethic and a buisness decision that makes no sence. Within an hour I was there we had a 100 dollar bill guess they obviously dont care about people. read more

It's a pretty chill bar/cafe with a couple pool tables and dart games. They have 2 bathrooms which don't designate which is male and female and leave their bathrooms quite dirty. I wouldn't want anyone to sit on their toilets even if they were on the brink of an accident. The food is a whole 'nother beast. I got the jalapeño poppers and fries. The fries were on the soggy side and the poppers tasted funny as I ate them and when I woke up the next morning, they wrecked my stomach. I had a strong feeling that there was something odd about them and couldn't finish the whole plate. read more

When you want to go have a couple of drinks and relax you can't go wrong with Cage Anasia. Anasia is a nice little sports bar just off South Beretania next to Tomas karaoke. Parking is a battle because the lot is small and this place can get busy. Inside they have darts, basketball, and even two pool tables! They also typically have daily specials on drinks. The drinks here are very reasonably priced. Pitchers of beers usually run for about $10-15 depending on if you get better quality beer and fill about 4 glasses. Food is also priced well and served in large portions. The last time I was here I had the cheesy garlic fries which was delicious. The service is excellent as well, the waitresses come by often and are very friendly! never Good food, cold beer, chill atmosphere, what more could you want from a sport bar? Highly recommended. read more

Cheap beers, good food, GREAT service and very clean restrooms. Workers there are all on top of their game when it comes to persistency. Daily specials every day of the week! anasias has come to be kind of a "comfort zone" for me now. i love staff (well most of them anyway), i love love love the food (especially the furikake salmon with crack sprinkled sauce), and i loooooove the prices (who can go wrong with cheap drinks?)!!! alright, so it IS a guy's bar (meaning not so up there in chicness) but who cares? they have a jukebox, basketball shooting game, pool, darts, and megatouch! they also regularly show the fights there. i just wish it wasn't such a sausage-fest all the time and that the guys would put the gosh darn seat down after they use both community toilets!!! read more
