Also, she claimed that my nippers weren't sharp enough so she went to go use hers and sanitized them with rubbing alcohol. $49 (plus I got 10 off for first time $39). Most places charge around $30-35 for both services and do a way better job.

At my most recent visit, I had an appointment and was already mid-service, with hands and feet soaked, when a walk-in customer arrived and wanted to sit next to her friend. Instead of asking, the staff moved my belongings and gestured for me to relocate. No explanation. No courtesy. Just an expectation that I would move for someone who came in after me. I would not have minded moving if I had been asked. But being displaced mid-service without a word was dismissive and, frankly, humiliating. I shared this feedback when I paid, but the experience stuck with me. This is not about one seat. It is about how customers are prioritized and treated in real time. That moment was enough for me to decide I will not be returning. I hope the owners take a step back and reflect. Basic respect and consistency in how customers are treated should not vary depending on who walks through the door.

I also asked about callus remover and she said yes and then just finished the service when I asked about it afterward It's my understanding that's the only callus remover they do. While the electric file worked and my feet felt smooth, there wasn't any extra attention given to my problem areas or thicker calluses. I noticed another client who started before me was still receiving service after I had finished, which made me wonder if there are differences in technique or experience between technicians. I would come back because I was happy with the overall results, but next time I'd request a more experienced technician who focuses a bit more on detailed callus care and problem areas. UPDATE I got home and I still feel the same about the services offered to me and time spent but but the tech did amazing on my cuticles and the overall foot minus the problem areas. At the end of my appointment, I pointed out that four of my nails were rough on the corners and asked if she could file them, which she did. I also mentioned that my nails did not look like a jelly manicure. Jelly nails should have a translucent, glossy, almost Jell-O-like appearance, while mine looked matte. Another technician told me the matte appearance was because I had lotion on my hands. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but when I got home, I thoroughly washed my hands and my nails were still matte. I also noticed that my middle nail was unusually thick and uneven at the tip. I returned the following day to give the salon an opportunity to address my concerns. They buffed them with a cloth that gave it more shine but it was still not a jelly manicure. Unfortunately, I was given several different explanations--first that it was because two coats had been applied, and then that my "nail beds must be dark." I honestly had no idea what that was supposed to mean, and by that point, I felt insulted and frustrated by the excuses rather than feeling that my concerns were being heard. They did offer to redo my nails if I was willing to wait, but at that point, I was simply done with the experience. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, which is disappointing because I genuinely wanted to like this salon.

I almost couldn't decide I had so many colors to choose from!The only issue I had was that I asked for square with round edges but she kept making them almond. I think it was probably because most people get that shape. When I pointed it out, she quickly fixed it so everything was fine. When my nails were done, they looked beautiful! I was so happy with the results. Ngan did a great job. I read somewhere that mimosas were given so I was looking around to see if anyone was drinking any but alas, I didn't see anyone. I was a little disappointed but that's just me trying to be extra, lol. I also would have loved to have my hands and arms massaged but I guess that's also only done at some salons. First, they like to talk about their clients in their language, but what they didn't know, is I had my Google translator on a few times to see what they were saying. Let's just say, they hate most of their clients and make fun of you. It's bad enough when you're already conscience of you own nail pit-falls, but I don't need my nail techs making fun of me or hurting me to the point I want to jump out of my chair. As well, you have to pay extra for the basic of service...they've already raised their basic mani/pedi over 30+% in the last year already. I found a new place (referred to be by a lady going there for over 12 yrs) called "Mon Mon" across the street. It gives the same luxurious service that I've received in places like Tahiti... And for the first time in my life, my nails didn't get messed up after I left! My regular mani (not shellac) was dry!! How?? She is so light handed, if that makes any sense, that I didn't feel man handled (like most places). I felt so comfortable in her space, sure it wasn't super modern, but it was welcoming, and so was she! I really love seeing people that still care about their craft. I didn't once feel like a number (ahem, like most places). Sure I work in Walnut Creek, but I'll be making the drive to see Angie! Parking is great and her price is low compared to the quality.
