One of the worst salon experiences is when there's a line of people waiting, the technicians rush through your appointment, and the quality of the work suffers. It is now 1633 and I have foam sandals on because she doesn't want me to wear my sandals. The quality of work that happens in nail salons these days is quite low. My nails weren't cut to the shape I requested, they are all very very short and unevenly shaped. They look embarrassing. There is no art that goes into this and I should have just stayed home and did my nails there. I also asked about callus remover and she said yes and then just finished the service when I asked about it afterward It's my understanding that's the only callus remover they do. While the electric file worked and my feet felt smooth, there wasn't any extra attention given to my problem areas or thicker calluses. I noticed another client who started before me was still receiving service after I had finished, which made me wonder if there are differences in technique or experience between technicians. I would come back because I was happy with the overall results, but next time I'd request a more experienced technician who focuses a bit more on detailed callus care and problem areas. My previous manicure was clear. There were remnants of clear polish on my nail bed. The manicurist didn't remove the clear polish with polish remover. She filed the polish away in stead and painted over the remaining polish. I didn't make a fuss. It's barely noticeable since the polish is clear. However removal of the polish should be a given. I still topped 20 percent.
