Last visit I had, the self checkout person was being sassy for no reason. I did not ask for help and was taking my time and behind me I hear her loudly tell me "press check out"...." press card" and more. You could tell she hates her job and just wants to treat people like they are stupid or something. It was weird. I just ignored her and never turned around to look at her as not to give her bad attitude any attention. When leaving I saw she had brown hair with a long ponytail over 30. I really don't understand the micromanaging and taunting of customers here. Her behavior was off putting. Maybe avoid her at all costs if you run into this person or hopefully they put her somewhere not around customers as she can't handle it and this is coming from someone who worked customer service for years. Maybe some staff needs re training on customer service and friendliness? I would return when looking for a specific item but because some staff are rude I definitely will avoid the staff.

And props to their app--the store locator feature is like having GPS for your DIY ambitions. Now, asking for help? Total roulette. Sometimes you hit the jackpot and get someone who clearly used to be a contractor and can MacGyver their way through anything. Other times, it's a deer-in-headlights newbie, or--if the universe is really feeling cheeky--Grumpy Gus from aisle 14 who looks like he lost a bet just showing up to work. So if you already know what you need and don't mind navigating the orange maze solo, Home Depot's a solid choice. Just don't go in expecting a TED Talk on toilet flanges.

This is one of the main places I get wood supplies for my house. After many years remodeling our…read morehouse, my husband and I realized the quality of the wood Dunn Lumber offers is much higher than other popular places. We don't need to spend hours looking for a wood board that is not bent. Of course, it comes to a price. Since the quality of the materials are usually higher, the price is also higher than other similar stores. But in my opinion it is totally worthy it. Services are also better than other bigger stores. We got a more customized services and people are usually very knowledgeable about the products the store offers. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who cares about higher quality materials and great customer services.

Dunn Lumber has been around in metro Seattle for ages, and unlike most of the old-fashioned…read morehardware stores staffed by old guys who know everything about every tool or bolt in the store, this place is still in business. But I'm kind of generalizing about the whole Dunn chain, when I'm only actually familiar with thisone store. The people here don't necessarily know everything about everything in the store, like at the old-fashioned, one-of-a-kind hardware stores, but they're pretty good here. What about selection? Since "lumber" is in the name, it's no surprise that they excel at lumber. They're particularly good for selection of plywood. You can get ordinary ugly construction grade plywood anywhere, but if you want pretty, furniture grade plywood for something like indoor cabinets, forget the box stores; even if they have the wood you want, the quality will be more consistent here. They also have a decent selection of indoor grade solid wood. I got a really nice piece of solid oak that was ideal for a repair to an oak veneer cabinet. They have a tremendous selection of things like baseboard trim, doorway trim, window trim, crown moldings, and similar stuff that I'd have to look up to know what it's called. Some of my baseboard trim looks pretty shabby, and I've browsed it here enough to know that if I get tired of the old stuff, I'll buy the replacement trim here. There is a custom cabinet department. I haven't tried to work with them, because I know that even a spectacular bid would still be more than I want to spend to replace my kitchen cabinets. They also have a modest selection of cabinet hardware, but it doesn't cover everything. I already have a pretty sweet deck, and deck engineering is beyond my do-it-myself skill levels anyway. But this place is a great place to go for deck supplies too, either for hardcore do-it-yourselfers or people who buy the supplies and hire the labor. (I'm not writing this for contractors; they probably already know who they like to buy from.) A small fun thing about the place is that they have a little wagon by the door with free wood for kids. What better way to get rid of scraps of trim that are too small to sell? So why not five stars, if everything I've written is positive? I have no complaints; it just doesn't quite reach a "wow!" for me.

He was impatient and rude and was insulted by my presence as an Indian and did not treat me with any humanity. His angry demeanor for having to wait less than five minutes after his arrival call (see VM snapshot and doorbell camera times) and wanting to make a forceful delivery while a car was parked in my driveway was unacceptable . For absolutely no reason, while i was trying to communicate that i was going to take the car out and that i had just a minute back seen his message and stepped out, he got super angry and cursed me for being late to respond and called out that he has to deal with all Indians this way and that he would not deliver. He was insulted by my presence and even wanted to call the cops on me because I came closer to him. A very insecure and ignorant person who has no right to be representing BFS should be let go of his job duties with no remorse. Truly unprofessional driver and beware if you do business with them.

Bmc on the other hand is a nightmare. We ordered a framing package and windows from them for a 3100 sq foot house and had floor framing show up without the beams, wall packages without sheathing, half of the framing lumber was warped and had to be sent back. Items were missed everywhere. Deck showed up with basement framing. WHATTTTTT?!?! They have been transitioning people in and out of the business and the customers get caught in the middle. We didn't get responses 3 times on critical questions for framing orders, window order and deck orders. Come to find out 3 different people we were working with had either quit or been fired and no one followed up on their accounts. Pretty hard to keep a project going on time when you have to deal with nonsense from the supplier. I would work with another company.
