I am super impressed with Big Paving Co. We had a water line leak under our driveway. The plumbers had to cut a 4 x 6 hole in the asphalt to repair it. They had a sub contractor who could repair the driveway in a week or two, but I wanted to try my luck at finding someone more local and available sooner. I called Big Paving. Randy answered right away. I told him my situation, and he offered to come out the same day. His price was better than what the plumber quoted me too. Not only did he repair where the plumbers made a hole, but I also had him fix a large spot that was settling near my garage. I've wanted that fixed for a while and this was the right opportunity. We always get a few bids for any project we do and in this case Randy and his team were the most respectful, punctual and honest from everyone with whom we spoke. And wow, the work speaks for itself!! Randy made sure the work was done in the right weather conditions and did not shy away from removing large paver stones or any other task that was needed to make the final paving come out right. They estimated it would take 6 hours and when it was more than 8 hours they were extremely kind about it and kept to the bid. Unbelievable! I called and told Randy what I needed and he instantly gave me a quote over the phone. 2 days later he came out and confirmed what I told him over the phone. He stuck to his quote even though I failed to tell him that I needed to have about 50 feet of asphalt cut. 2 hours later he called and asked if it would be OK to do the job in a few hours. I wasn't able to get home in time to pay him before he was done, so he even stopped back by later to pick up payment. I'm a retail store with a contractors license and this day in age you simply can't do anything with out signing your life away and giving at least an arm in order to have someone start work. Randy simply took my word and did an amazing job on our driveway! I am OCD and examined the work when I got home and for the life of me can not find a flaw! I was not there to guide or instruct his crew in how to do their job and yet it turned out better then expected. So here's the kicker, he shows up at 8PM to collect and I give him his money which I counted twice and he counts it only to tell me its a $100 to much. I asked him to count it again only to find out he is correct and I am wrong! For his honesty I let him keep the $100, Randy and his crew earned it hands down! Also, I got 2 other bids from reputable companies for more money so Big Paving Company is definitely a great value!! They showed up when they said they would, so I'll give them that...the asphalt job was soft around the edges of the driveway and started crumbling in places immediately. After FIVE phone calls, there is no evidence they are planning on coming back. No phone calls have been returned and a drain was left with dangerously soft asphalt around it. If anybody injures themselves, I'm pointing right at randy. If I am requested to remove this review, I will take as many days as it takes these guys to come back and finish the job. read more

This is the second job we have done with Randy and his crew. Both times were excellent experiences with top quality results. I recently moved into an older home on a larger lot. There was a large area that had previously had a slab on it but now the slab was all cracked and uneven. I asked Randy to remove the old slab, pour a new 21'X26' slab along with repaving a very large area in front of the slab. Turns out the old slab was 18" thick in spots but had been poured without properly prepping the ground underneath it. Randy and his crew had to take extra time and effort to pull up these enormous pieces of concrete and break them up. Randy made sure the entire area was properly prepared this time to not have the same issues as the prior owner. In addition to this effort, I also had Randy expand the entry to the circular driveway with exposed pebbles and add more asphalt in an adjacent parking area. Randy gave me an excellent quote within just one day of seeing the job. He went out of his way to keep me updated stopping by before or after my work hours to catch me and review what had been completed and what was happening next. He suggested numerous improvements I never would have caught myself to ensure each of these jobs afforded me the best outcome possible. I had requested the jobs be completed as soon as possible. Randy somehow fit me in completing everything in just a few days. Both areas are transformed and finished exactly the way I wanted them. Randy and his crew could not have been nicer. Kudos to Randy and his crew at Big Paving. We had a large section of old asphalt on our property that needed removal, and we wanted part of the replacement in asphalt, part in crushed rock, and part in soil. We also needed a water barrier so that street runoff would reach storm drains rather than our yard. Randy advised us on all aspects of the design, and he and his crew finessed the installation around two city storm drains, giving the street corner a much more finished look. As he was regrading the driveway, Randy pointed out that two sections felt a bit soft (who would even have noticed such a thing?), and so he had his crews dig out the areas and fill them in with gravel to ensure a solid and long-lasting driveway grade. Incredibly, Randy and his crew finished the entire job in a day and a half. They were polite, professional, thoroughly cleaned up, and left us with a transformed yard. Terrific work of high quality.
