I Love Cabo Bob's! Enough Said!! Guys, this restaurant is spectacular! Every time I visit Austin you will find me and all of my friends at Cabo Bob's Burritos! CBB's puts the big ole burritos on a whole other level. How you ask? Well let me tell you, my friend. Let's start with the selection of mere combination possibilities here. Unlimited! Plus the fact that the Tortillas made right in front of you (my mouth waters when I think about the buttermilk tortillas) AND they have several different types to choose from. Are you kidding me? Who knew there was more than corn or flour? Then while they are pressing your tortilla just glance down that longgggg serving row and look at the chooses of meats, beans, rices, veggies, cheeses, guacamole and various condiments. OMG ITS GONNA BE SO GOOD, and wait you are not through the line yet.....you have got to try the Mango Pico! Trust me on this one! It's Delicious Don't forget to ask for a bowl of queso to go with those fresh crispy chips and you have a MEAL fit for a foodie! Huge selection! Massive Burritos (bowls) and Tacos!! Friendly staff!!! Playful interior!!!! Competitive prices!!!!! To me, the ONLY draw back to this Austin based restaurant chain is there isn't a Cabo Bobs in Fort Worth-Dallas. I have no doubt my fellow DFW Foodies would line up for you Bob, so come on up to North Texas and share your goodness! Cabo Bob's Burritos gets FOUR STARS Happy Eating Y'all! read more

So i had no expectations of this place when seeing it on Yelp, the stars are "stars", but wow this place is LEGIT! Visiting from FL, all we have is Chipotle, Moe's SW Grille, Baja Burrito, Tijuana Flats (etc), but this place rises above from all of them. The choices of type of tortilla you get is amazing, not just "corn" or "flour", but actual flavors infused into the soft-shell tortilla itself, and the way it's made is awesome as can be. - the mango salsa is to die for. - the "beef" meat is actually large chunks of steak (yum!) - the place it pretty big and can house plenty of people. - the workers there seem to love their job and actually enjoy being there. When it comes to burritos, nothing in FL can really top this place in terms of size, choice and quality. One of the best things about Austin is actually coming here to eat the food since it's that good. While I'm not a local of Austin, TX (based out of Orlando, FL) this place certainly gives other taco/burrito places a run for it's money when it comes to price, efficiency and the quality of food that is served. read more

Melissa and Alex are great good hearted managers of the 2 locations I'm familiar with. If you have 30 bucks you can buy 5-6 kid burritos so don't be afraid of the price. Everyone in Austin knows bout this place and loves it. They are very very clean having good plastic/glass screens to protect the food. They serve with gloves. Absolutely love this place! Burrito's as big as your head! Fresh ingredients and tortillas made on the spot. The ambiance reminds me of costal Baja Mexico. Good food and good service. I had the Smokey cheddar burrito with pork. The only drawback was the 45 minutes of waiting in line.

Love this place. Amazing selection of ingredients to put in tacos, a burrito, a salad, nachos, or a salad. They even have fish and mango salsa AND they cook the tortillas right in front of you with lots of choices to choose from! Their salsa is pretty dang good too and I absolutely love their chips and queso!! They have a reward card and their customer service rocks!!! Wish there was one of these closer to North Austin - and thats my only complaint lol If you have not been here - you have got to check this place out.... if there is a line, and lunch rush gets super busy - no worries, it goes super fast! read more

Second time they've screwed up my tacos. I specifically said quack on the side. Even the guy who passed my tacos on to the toppings girl said it. What did she do? Put it on my tacos. I was so pissed I could barely speak. Then she put mango topping, wrapped them up and bagged them No cabbage, no crema chipotle, no cheese. I was in such a hurry since I only have 30 minutes for lunch, they were swamped, I will call them tomorrow But that girl never listens. Don't get me wrong, the food is great, but this 1 person doesn't listen. read more

I'm currently eating vegan and I was pleasantly surprised that they advertise a vegan burrito! It was delicious! Their homemade tortilla chips were so good too! This place is always packed!! I love that you can pick out what tortilla you want and they press it right there and cook it in front of you. What I don't love is that sometimes they stick and can get a little disfigured, but that makes your tortilla have character right? I've always had take out and the line can go pretty quick. My favorites are the crispy fish tacos and the steak burrito. The steak burrito has a choice of beans and also a choice of rice. Love options and I'm glad this place opened and it's way better than chipotle. I mean, who wants to get food poisoning? Not me! Next time you're in there try the mint sweet tea. Got an ancho tortilla with brisket and some fixings. I wanted to try Cabo Bob's because the reviews were fantastic and I thought it would have been a little more refined and flavorful than it actually was. Like many have mentioned before, it's a lot like Chipotle and Freebirds except they offer some Texas twists (brisket, queso, tomatillo, etc.). Overall, I was satisfied and it is a great stop if you are looking for a filling meal. read more

I frequent this spot, probably once a month. Always great service. My visit today may have been the best ever. I usually get mine to go, as I did as well today. The line wasn't long at all, and the employees were on point. I probably was in there no longer than 3 minutes while ordering 3 burritos. Speedy and quality service! Honestly food was really bland. Sautéed onions were raw. Everything was ice cold think cold chipotle on steroids. No flavor. And the staff was super rude. I went to go pick up and recognized my order. I said awesome that's me right there she looked at me and said name I told her my name and she said yeah this isn't yours rudely. I kept trying to get her attention and she finally turned back while hiding the receipt and asked me for the last name as if I was trying to steal their unseasoned cold burritos. When I said the name she didn't even apologize or anything just rudely handed me the bag. Won't go back. And don't recommend it. read more

Great tacos! Classics are great (just fish tacos are my go to!) or make your own. Tortillas are fresh - you can even mix flavors for a burrito. Skip the salads - I had one and it was pretty meh - shredded iceberg as a base so pretty lack luster. Also. Make sure if you order online you are selecting the correct store - it's so easy to mix up Anderson LANE with Anderson MILL. They're great and will fix it. But you'll have to wait...not that I've done this before.... read more

I grew up in the Service industry as a kid and I value customer service more than I would say the most. This is my first time trying Cabo Bob's burritos and let me just tell you something, I called and got a to go order and was promptly greeted by Urban, he was very knowledgeable about their food and products line! Now I give him extra points because it happened to be six minutes before they closed, urban didn't even flinch whenever I asked him if it was too late to order something to go he happily said " that he would be more than happy to accomadate out needs" upper management is lucky to have him as an employee and from personally speaking he is awesome. And deserves a raise :-) thank you Urban and staff! read more

Cabo Bob's is as colorful as Jenny L's hair. Now I could have gone with "Cabo Bob's is the Barley Swine of Chipotles" or "This place is a Freebird's Gone Wild" but using Jenny's hair seems much more colorful. Oh, c'mon, it's more fun than saying "This restaurant is yummy." The bottom line is Cabo Bob's is just another corporate assembly-line taco place, but I think their stuff tastes better. Don't take my word for the fish & meat goo - and the word is apparently good - but if you're going to do veggie/vegan at a taco venue, I don't know who's doing it better. I could literally flip a coin over the best deal here - the #10 ginormous 17-Veggie Bomb for $7, or the three-taco seasonal veggie basket you load with all the toppings for $6. Part of Cabo Bob's charm are the four kinds of tortillas, freshly pressed to order. Interesting stuff. You know this place is a national franchise just waiting to happen, and it's cool they're based here in Austin. Their mantra of "No HFCS" in anything they have is clever, but I pretty much stick to iced tea in restaurants. So Dublin Dr. Pepper is now called "Doppelgänger?" Whatevs. Incidentally, this intersection at Ben White and I-35 sucks, but I actually use the optometrist next door, there's a pedi place next to that where hip Yelpers groom themselves after a UYE, and that Murphy's across the parking lot is among the top-five lowest gas prices in town. It's easy to make an afternoon of Cabo Bob's. They're closed on Sundays, btw. One anecdote: If it's crowded, and someone ahead of you suddenly puts in an extra order, they have to press new tortillas which will create some delay and confusion as this new order cuts its way through the assembly-line to catch up to the person. Keep an eye on your stuff, and make sure their stuff is not being accidentally put on yours. It's really not a big deal, the staff handles it nicely, and it was actually fun to watch - a kind of mesmerizing Three-card Tortilla Monte. We'll just call it another part of the Cabo Bob's charm. read more

Cabo Bob's Burritos - If you're a vegetarian or a rabbit, you can have fun munching away at Cabo Bob's. Good stuff. - Tacos Near Me - Austin, Texas

Get the Fish Tacos and thank me later! The chipotle crema and mango pico add so much flavor to the tacos.

Cabo Bob's is just plain ol' good, consistently fast food. For burritos, tacos and bowls, I find them way better than Chipotle or those other order-down-the-line (I made that up!) chains. The tortillas are fresh. Like, made right in front of yo' face fresh...and there are several interesting tortilla flavors (think ancho chili or something tomatillo) and lots of toppings to choose from. Their queso is good. Their chips are great. Each order is way more food than I can ever eat, so I never leave still hungry. Parking is ample and prices are right. The only reason Bob didn't get five stars is because every time I come for lunch they are PACKED, and there aren't enough tables, especially in summer when it's too hot for the patio. Maybe they can knock out the store next door and double their size? ‍ read more

This place kind of reminds me of a Baja-style Rudy's that followed a freebird to spring break in Rosarito Beach and got knocked up by Chipotle over Mexican Cokes (with rum) and nine months later, had a little Cabo Bob. While there is no BBQ and gas station here, the line feels very Rudy's-esque with the iced down bottled drinks in in metal troughs while you stand in line (minus the booze :( and the high fructose corn syrup ;). They have the thing I always thought Rudy's should make a staple instead of white bread... tortillas. And these are not your grandma's tortillas. No siree... The flour tortillas come in white, green, red and orange and they make them from scratch using only tree hugging ingredients like unbleached flour without all the extra junk (artificial flavors, colors, and things I cannot pronounce) added. The place them on a big rotating round griddle, flatten them and watch them bubble up as they cook. It looks like a landing pad of big and small tortilla UFOs. - White = Buttermilk Flour Tortilla - Green = Cilantro Tomatillo Flour Tortilla - Red = Ancho Chili Flour Tortilla - Orange = Smokey Cheddar Flour Tortilla that has cheddar and BBQ sauce mixed in. They also offer corn tortillas, not sure they make them there, but they are non-genetically modified and made only with corn (no gluten added). They have a variety of specials to choose from or you can build your own burritos, tacos, bowls and salads, choosing from a list of fillings: beef or chicken fajitas, shredded pork carnitas, crispy tilapia, shredded brisket or seasonal veggies. My only beef here is that the only fish offering is fried (think grilled my friends). I ordered the Baja tacos (a plate of 3) but subbed one out for the pork so I could try it with the Ancho Chili tortilla. The fish tacos were served in the corn tortillas with a white crema sauce, cabbage, salsa, lime, cilantro and onions. I had them use the mango pico instead of the red salsa and easy on the cilantro and onions. They were tasty and each had 2 pieces of fish in them, but I would have preferred my fish grilled. The shredded pork in my other taco was moist, but needed a little more zing in its flavor. The Ancho Chili tortilla was my favorite part of the meal. I watched people ordering their burritos and walking out with big fat ones, but unfortunately for me, while all ingredients are healthy... those lack portion control and always leave me feeling way too full. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor, however are several picnic tables next to the parking lot and the view is of people going through a Starbucks drive through. Perhaps they could make that a little less open and put up a barrier. Inside has a beachy decor and clever graphics. I like that they are going for natural, healthy, not high fructose corn syrup tree hugging goodness here. I was alarmed that they do not offer recycling options for their glass bottles and plastic cups. I realize the city does not make it easy for businesses, but believe they need to carry this natural friend of the earth message through to the trash and recycling. All in all, I would give them 3.5 stars. That is between A-OK and Yay! I'm a fan. I am rounding up, because Jenny L. set up a UYE here, and she rocks stars! read more

You know what I like about Yelper Jenny L.? - She doesn't hate me to my face. Mostly. - She actually responds when I speak to her. That, and she usually responds in English. - She doesn't judge. Well, except when I mismatch plaids and stripes. - She doesn't smoke such that I'm downwind. In exchange, I kindly repress flatulence. - She doesn't criticize me when I eat things in front of her. Especially things that were once alive. - She organizes lots of cool UYE events. Almost all of which I sign up for and never show to despite my best intentions, which has to piss her off. Except today. Jenny managed to find the one place in Austin out of the one-thousand-I-haven't-been-to-and-really-wanted-to-go-for-like-two-years-and-counting and held a UYE event in the middle of the day on a Saturday when I was: a) Awake b) Well c) Motivated d) Sociable e) In-town So, to make it look good, I ordered the tacos filled with fried finned thingys that once dwelt in the sea (sorry, Jenny, that's as much as I can sanitize it). The thingys were very not greasy, and not too batter-y, as I like it. They were wrapped in wonderful, airy-light buttermilk tortillas, just enough to provide a good food seal but not filling in and of themselves. Overstuffed with generous helpings of Chipotle Crema, Mango Pico, Shredded Cabbage (I don't think any of those items once sentient beings, so I will call them by name). Hearty, yet delicious, meal. You don't leave hungry here. Be sure to discover the sauces early, and try the XX for sure as I discovered it only too late. That happened right after I negotiated the hostage exchange between Jenny and Tiana for the XX sauce. I felt so diplomatic. I even took a hit off it while Jenny glared at me to get her sauce back. It was all good. Service was a little absent-minded at times (much like this review), but highly efficient. They made up for it with their vast array of pure cane sugar sodas from Dublin Bottling. I would have had a field day here, but I stopped after one refill, switching from Orange Tangerine to Vanilla Creme. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the flavors. But, enough about the food, lest you think this was all about the restaurant or something. Back to the real point of this review, if there ever was one. - Jenny rules - Yelp rocks read more

Well I finally made it to Cabo Bobs! I was absolutely surprised with the quality of food. I was kind of expecting freebirds I guess but a little different. My cousin was in town and mentioned he wanted fish tacos, so Steve H. looked up the top places to get fish tacos in Austin on what else but the yelp app ... and the #1 place was too far so we opted for #2 which was Cabo Bobs. I ordered the #1 fish tacos on a smoked cheddar tortilla. There was a mango pico de gallo and a creamy chipotle sauce with 2 huge chunks of golden fried fish, cabbage and a lime on the side. I squeezed the lime juice on each taco and as I ate them the mango pico, creamy sauce and lime juice mixed around on the fish and tortilla ... mmm it totally hit the spot. The chips and salsa were good too! And they have all the Dublin real cane sugar drinks on fountain ... my favorite is the red cream soda! All in all our whole table was pleased and loved their lunch. I am glad I finally tried Cabo Bobs. I will absolutely hit this place up again! I think it is better than Freebirds and Chipotle. read more

Made a recent return visit to Cabo Bob's cuz it's been way too long since I've had their awesome fish tacos. I love their flavored tortilla options, ordered a Taco Dinner which comes with three. It's a similar set-up to other taco places, pick your dish and the tortilla, but here they press the tortilla right there for you as opposed to it already being prepared. I went for the black beans + onions + cilantro + mango salsa (awesome!) + lettuce + diced jalapenos. Not only did my 3 tacos look so awesome and appetizing, they tasted even better. Add in a side of the chipotle sauce and I like to mix the hot and mild pepper sauces to get some nice heat. Everything was excellent, and love their chips too. Those flavored tortillas were superb, only wish they were a little more on the thicker side of things as sometimes the flavors of the taco overpower the taste of their thin tortilla. I think the smokey cheddar is my favorite by far, so maybe next time I'll just upgrade to a burrito to get more tortilla. Regardless, Cabo Bob's has best fish tacos in town - hands down. It's a simple combination where freshness and quality are key, and I won't wait too long to come back for more. read more

Can it be? Did I finally find an establishment not on the West Coast that serves fish tacos worth writing home about? Does this place serve only REAL sugar soda choices? Do they have an overwhelming amount of options that allows for hundreds of different creations, enticing me to eat here again? Is this place seriously only 10 minutes away from my home and work? Is their service really that friendly and quick? Was the restaurant clean? Do they make their own chips? Did I eat my fish tacos alarmingly fast? Was I shameless enough to steal a beef fajita taco from the 2 year old in our party? Am I still full from my 11:00 lunch throwdown 6 hours later? Cabo Bob's Burritos - Easily the fattest burrito I've had so far - Tacos Near Me - Austin, Texas

My opinion of Cabo Bob's has changed so I needed to update my review. The food is still great quality, but the Dublin Dr Pepper is gone. :( What has really changed my opinion is the business practices. First, I learned that this is their only location, which is shocking because the decor and efficiency scream chain but they are just smooth as silk. Secondly, they use many local ingredients and all of the sauce, salsas, and tortillas are all made in house. I have now had the burritos, tacos, and salads and you cannot go wrong with any of these. They don't use standard iceberg lettuce, instead using a green spring mix, also the fish is always fresh and delicious. They seemed to have changed to a better cut of beef recently too but I cannot confirm that. I am also a fan of the chicken as it is always tender pieces of all white chicken. One of the things I had always been curious about was why there is a constant stream of firefighters, cops and EMS here. Well it turns out they give a 50% discount to them and that is awesome in my book. Combine that with the fact they take Hilltopper bucks and you can see how Cabo Bob's pays it forward. Keep up the good work Cabo Bob's. read more

We decided to stop in at Cabo Bob's on our way from Houston to Fredericksburg, as it was right off the highway and the reviews were great! I have to say, overall, it was different but I would not say it was "better than Freebird", it was just different than Freebird. I ordered the tacos with the chile tortilla. They heat the tortillas to be super crispy which is cool and again, lends to this being different from the other places. I got the fish and 2 chicken tacos. While I hate fried food, I did think the fish was the bomb, especially loaded up with all the extras including the really hot sauce. I would definitely stop here again if in the area. read more

Cabo Bob's Burritos - One fish & 2 chicken fajita tacos - Tacos Near Me - Austin, Texas

This was the first place I choose to dine at my first time in Texas for some Tex-Mex. Prior to eating here I've always heard, "tacos are better in Texas...," from so many people. I never thought tacos could get any better than what I've had in California or even from certain places in Florida. But boy, was I highly mistaken. This place has ruined any taco I will eat from here on out. I can't even eat Chipotle anymore, because I realized it's straight garbage. The moment I saw the dining attendant hand press the tortilla I knew it was game over. They even had different flavors of tortillas! The brisket and the pulled pork tacos were awesome! I even ordered crispy fish nachos to split and my friend ordered an over stuffed burrito. Well it's true what they say-everything is bigger in Texas indeed. We only got through 1/4 of the nachos and I could only make my way through 2 out of three tacos. They were stuffed to the brim. All in all I would definitely pay a visit back to this establishment if I'm in the area. Great value and awesome food! read more

CABO BOB'S IS THE BOMB!! Hands down, best burrito place in Austin...Makes competitors like Chipotle, Qdoba, and Freebirds look like a joke. Amazing burritos, quality ingredients, and one of my favorite spots to frequent. Love Cabo bobs and all of their options!

You know how places get too over hyped and it sometimes makes you not want to go because you feel like you might be disappointed? Well it happens to me. My brother and his friends got some burritos last time and my brother gave me a bite of his. With just that one bite I was sold. Since then I've been going constantly. It's actually a little embarrassing lol. Why is this place better than Chipotle? Their tortillas are seasoned and flavored! Yeah I know Freebirds has different kinds of tortillas but come on Cabo does them better. They have your regular buttermilk, ancho chili, cheddar, and cilantro. I always go for the ancho chili tortilla to spice things further. Another thing I love about Cabo is the big selection of sauces!!! They have Red salsa, hot tomatillo sauce, ancho chili sauce, Chipotle crema and some other ones I have yet to try! I feel like the sauces are what makes the burrito taste even more awesome. I mean come on who wants a plain dry burrito? If you hate crowds like I do then you should definitely order online! It's surprisingly quicker than I had expected considering the big lines they sometimes get. I haven't dine in yet so I can't speak about customer service in depth but everytime I go to pick up my food, someone is always there to help me right away despite the line of people ordering to my right. One of the managers, Erasmo, is very kind and friendly. If there's ever a problem he tries to do right by the customer to fix their orders. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. Stop going to Chipotle and go to Cabo Bob's instead. Plus they have a "buy 6 burritos and get a free shirt" stamp card! read more
