My family of 10 went to Cabernet Steakhouse in Alpharetta for Mother's Day 2025. We were extremely disappointed that we were told that we would have a private room given the amount of people in our party. When we mentioned if after being seated amongst everyone else, a lady came to our table and said that we were told that we MAY end up with a private room. This is not what I was told. They ended up finally moving us to a back room that hosted still several tables. We accepted it given our drive was an hour and a half to get there. Once we were seated, we were given a paper menu. Yes, a paper menu when each meal was $75 each. When we found out that it no longer included lobster in the price that had substantially gone up since previous years, we were again disappointed. My father was furious and ready to leave, but again, we drove an hour and a half to get there, so we agreed to stay. Here is the worst part of it all, as I was eating my food, I noticed a long black hair tucked out from under my piece of salmon that the server put on my plate. My hair is blonde and was braided back so there's no way it could have been mine. Plus, it coming out from under the salmon and wrapping itself to the top of the salmon almost made me, well you can guess. We asked the host who was speaking to other guests to come to our table when he had a second. He continued to talk to the other guests for a minimum of 5 minutes while I sat there with disgusting food on my plate while the rest of my family was eating their brunch. He, I assumed, knew the guests because he was passing around hugs as I became more nauseated sitting there waiting for his attention. He finally came over to our table and I showed him the long black hair in my food. He simply apologized and said they would fix me another plate of food and would be right back. I waited a good 5 to 7 more minutes for them to bring my plate of food while my family continued to eat. Thank God my mom had some oysters and shrimp that she was willing to share with me as I waited on my plate of food. I began to wonder if I was supposed to go up myself and was waiting for nothing, but the server finally came back with a new plate of food and it was missing some items that I had on my original plate. I was extremely upset about the whole ordeal and I refused to eat the salmon given my horrific experience. At $75 a person, this is the last thing we would have expected to happen. We got our bills at the end of it all and they charged us a 20 percent gratuity per person. They didnt offer me anything special which I did expect after the obvious errors on their part. It took forever for me to be able to eat. I was disgusted and nauseated given what had happened. They lost 10 guests that will never be back again. I do not recommend this place. Your money would be better spent at Ray's on the River or some other brunch place that prides themselves more on customer satisfaction. This is my honest review and I am representing the feelings of our entire 10 person party. read more

How have I lived this close to The Cabernet for 20 years and never tried it until tonight? I'm a pretty picky guy and I've got to tell you, this place is AMAZING! Every aspect of my experience tonight was top notch, the servers are knowledgeable, easy going and very helpful. The food tasted amazing, both the seafood and the steaks were top notch, it's a little pricey here, at least that's what you think when you're ordering but when you taste it, you'll see what you're paying for. The scallops are crazy good and my wife's steak melted in my mouth when I stole a bite (sorry I don't remember the exact steak she ordered). Also, the crab bisque was really, really good it's a little less creamy than most bisques I've enjoyed in the past but I liked the change. The deserts were good too, I had the vanilla creame brûlée which exceeded my expectations. Finally, the wine menu here is extensive with plenty of options in variety and vineyard large from around the world. This is one of the best steakhouses I have ever dined in. Their signature ribeye steak is tender and juicy with an extremely flavorful crust on the outside and served sliced up (large portions perfect for sharing). We also ordered sides of mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, and mushrooms and onions. All the sides were very good as well. The ribeye steak however was the highlight of the meal. I cannot speak to the quality or taste of any other dishes but this ribeye is worth coming in for. The restaurant itself is reminiscent of an old fashioned steakhouse bringing you back to the 1960's for a nice dinner, perfect ambience for a date night, celebration, or business dinner. Visited here for my cousin's birthday celebration. We had the $80 set menu (which is a great deal, in my opinion). The appetizer were delicious! I would give them 9/10. The dessert (cheesecake) was sooo good 10/10. The bread wasn't that good 7/10. The steak was exquisite!! Drinks were STRONG! 10/10. Both of our waitresses were awesome! Customer Service arriving until we left was 10/10. Ambiance was beautiful, yet simple. Clean bathrooms also, 10/10. I would recommend this place for any occasion. Excellent birthday dinner out with my son and wife a few weeks ago. Love the decor, the staff has always been really good here and I find the value to be above average. The menu has a little bit for everyone so you can bring a bunch of different taste and everyone will be happy. My son had a Ny Strip as did I. Both cooked perfectly and as ordered. For appetizers I ordered the lamb with mint jelly with shallot straws. Phenomenal! So good. Also had the beef satay. Ehhh. A little overcooked and underwhelming. Mom ordered the lamb also - well done. Came medium. She got a baked potato that she didn't finish which is not her norm. Don't think it was hot. Daughter and SIL ordered the Rock Salt Ribeye. They ordered medium-rare it came rare, but was do flavorful! I had to sneak a taste. Way better than my filet. Dessert was chocolate cake - could be skipped. Soda and sweet tea wasn't really good. I know that makes no sense but a flat and watery Coke and watery sweet tea is not fun. Service from the person who fills your water was definitely on point. Always there. Our waitress....... not so much. Will I return. Only for the Rock Salt Ribeye and Lamb. I passed another steak place on the way and will probably try that place next. First time to this delicious staple in Alpharetta. Food was DELICIOUS! We started with stone crabs, fried lobster tails, shrimp, crab cakes! WOW... I 100% recommend Cabernet! My hubby made reservations for my birthday and we loved everything! Went to the restaurant for Mother's Day Brunch was seated in a banquet room with plastic tables and chairs... restaurant should have told us we were getting the worst seats in the restaurant. Plus the staff started talking food away before we could get dessert.. as we walked out we saw the staff had to go boxes of the dessert we didn't get. Very Disappointing. Despite the good reviews, this was a terrible experience. Service started out fine, and then it was terrible. Empty plates and glasses left on the table for long periods of time. Other patrons we looking around wondering if anyone was going to do something. People were clearly frustrated. I was never able to get a second dink despite being there almost 2 hours. Steaks were both cooked wrong. Medium was medium rare, and medium well was rare. It was almost 25 minutes before someone came by and asked about our meal. So no chance to get things corrected. The lobster was way too salty. Almost inedible. Shrimp with the appetizer were served cold. Things were poorly run the evening we were there. We like eating at Nice Steak Houses and typically have great experiences. This was not worth our money or time. There are too many better options in the area. read more

I visited this location for a work happy hour which was in a section of the restaurant, so i did not get to see the whole place. From what I saw it was nice and the service was great. We had the waiters and waitresses keeping the food and drinks coming and also taking way the plates we were done with. It seems like they have valet parking as an option here otherwise you can self park. The restaurant is in front of a hotel and it seems like some of the parking spots are shared between the two. There were a lot of people that seemed to have gotten off work that were dining there that weekday evening. It has somewhat of a romantic vibe to it with the lighting on the dim side. The best thing is that the highway is right after the restaurant, so when you leave and you are hoping on 400 south, all you have to do is just make a right when leaving the restaurant and another right and you are on the highway. read more

I went there for my wedding anniversary , I took my wife there for the ribeye for two , I had it a few times and loved it. When we got there and I tried to order it, I was told that lunch is a limited menu, highly disappointing. Getting past that we order the sampler for appetizer , the porterhouse steak with asparagus , and a potato dish that was highly recommended. The crab crake was the best part of the meal. The steak was flavorless , I could've sworn they did not put any seasoning at all , they just grilled it. the asparagus was OK , and the potato side was mediocre at best. My wife and I were laughing at because it was just slice potatoes on top of each other, covered in cheese and made to look fancy. We definitely felt the atmosphere was great, but the food was way over priced would've been better at Texas roadhouse for 1/2 the price. Let's get into it...The Cabernet in Alpharetta is right off the highway exit and is relatively easy to find. Cabernet offers free valet parking but has additional space in the back of the building that is adjacent to a hotel if you prefer to park yourself. I've been here a couple of times, and it has always been top-tier when it comes to just really no frills steak. When you walk into the building immediately to your left, you will be greeted by the host/hostess who is fairly quick with acknowledgment and seating. There is also a separate sectioned off lounge area off from the dining area that patrons can see but not smell or hear that offers live music and cigar smoking (my personal favorite reason to visit. In addition, they also have an impressive wine menu to pair along with those selected cuts of meat I spoke of and even boast an inclusive start to finish entree menu that changes frequently throughout the month. Our server Robert was great and helped us make our selections throughout the evening, which was spot on as always. The Cabernet, for me, ensures a 3 for 1 evening. Service was good but that can't make up for the terrible ribeye and filet that was served. I was shocked and embarrassed for the guests I had brought. Sad,because six months ago it was wonderful. Our strategy on New Year's Eve is simple - get dinner, get it early, and get home and stay out of the way of Amateur night.....This year, as we didn't want to venture too far, we went to Cabernet. I would call this 4.2 stars, as it's better than 4 stars, but this will do - - Sitting on Windward Parkway, location is key as you can get a quality upscale ish experience and you don't have to go too far. The price point was much different than higher quality peers in the past, (say 30% less), but they have narrowed that to about 10-15% less.... - It's a nice spot - they take care of it, it's fancy but not formal. There is valet - though I don't know why as it sits right in the regular parking lot....but no problem there - nice touch if you just want to pull up. - Staff - Really well trained. You are greeted properly, don't have to wait too long for reservation (within a few minutes) and walked to your table - Our service team was Chad and his partner - they were outstanding. Funny, nice, personable and good recommendations. Food - The food is quite good. A couple small misses, but overall, they deserve their place in the ranks of the "really good". There are a few steak places in Atlanta - that are legendary and no-one would argue that - I don't think Cabernet needs to be in that category - it's hard, and needs to be earned over years - but it is at the top of that next bunch. Steaks - the high point - this is why you come here - and they taste really good. Cooked perfectly, well seasoned, not overly so, hot, buttery and a good selection. We come here for the steak. Lobster (on the side) - broiled, well prepared. Appetizers - really good. Oysters Rockefeller which were tasty, warm and big, and then beef carpaccio - which was well prepared and well seasoned. One nit - do better on the toast - they were a few pieces of white toast, cold, crumbly and really did the beef a disservice. That is an easy fix We wanted oysters but they did not have saltines (you think they would send a runner over to Publix really quick... Salads - I appreciate they are able to do half portions.....but they were really good - no qualms there. Sides - mashed potatoes were really nice - simple, butter, salt, I love that - no fancy truffle anything..... Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and Thai Chili - man- we were excited for them - but they were terrible. Just cut in half, hard and dense. There was no amount of bacon or sweet sauce that were going to make these better- shave them, shred them, crisp them, do something....big miss Desert was eh - a chocolate ganache cake that was dry instead of decadent. Ice cream was OK I really did appreciate their drink service - great cocktails - the bar is awesome.....great - well thought out - wine list - AND - they have a nice feature where they partner with some really good wineries to have some bottles that are high quality and well priced - bravo there. If you get a chance- go in the bar it's a cigar bar with a ventilation system that must cost a zillion dollars because it's not so bad.....fun nightclub feel, great crowd, everyone having a good time. We had our group lunch here yesterday. The restaurant is beautiful inside and initially two waiters introduced themselves and said they would be our servers. After we placed our purser they became impossible to find for drink refills or problems with the food. One coworker ordered a steak well done. It came out rare. I had a burger which was served with no condiments, it was also very dry and served with McDonald's type fries. We kept looking around for someone to address those issues. Eventually we caught our waiters attention and I was brought my condiments. My friend told them he ordered week and received rare. We fully expected a new meal to be brought to him however they brought back the same plate they must have just microwaved the steak - but they removed the side from the plate. I've never had an experience like that at what appeared to be a high end restaurant. read more

Unfortunately the candle they had burning by host stand doesn't disguise the smoke. Food had hits and misses. I ordered the grouper and a Cabernet salad. Not bad not great. Our executive committee met here for dinner for the first time. This was my first time dining here as well. Staff was very pleasant and we began with drinks at the bar. Very nice bartender and drinks were good. We were seated as a group and the server was extremely helpful with the menu and very attentive. The food however was just average. I was hoping to have a great steak being that Cabernet is a higher end steakhouse. But the steak was average at best and lacked flavor. Two of my colleagues ordered porterhouse for two to share and they said the same thing. It was just blah! Side dishes were good though. And the wine of course was the best part of the meal. :) we ended the evening at the bar and I topped the night off with a good Old Fashioned. We were graciously greeted by the valet parking attendant. Our small party didn't have reservations but we were kindly accommodated. The wine selection was great. We were fortunate enough to dine here when they were featuring a 3 course menu. So to start out I partook in a pre-dinner cocktail which was a paradise martini ($5) it was good but sweet. For the appetizer I had the lamb meatballs on a pita with taziki dipping sauce, they were great and it was just enough to hold is over for the main course. Entree was a bone in filet and a piece of grilled salmon! It came with a side of succotash. Super hungry or greedy not sure, the birthday girl & I decided to split a side of creamy mashed potatoes. Thank goodness we did because the name describes it all, they were delicious! Full of flavor and fluffy. The fillet was cooked perfectly and had great seasoning as did the salmon. By dessert I was so full I asked the waiter to package it, but it was a berry cheesecake which was great as well. I asked the girl sitting next to how her meal was as the waiter was taking her plate away (she had triple cut lamb chops) and she literally sent me home with her leftovers. So I can officially say the lamb is great as well. *Fun fact on Wednesdays (we wear pink) also they have live music in the lounge & $10 cigars & cognac (or something Brown).
