The store itself is great but the customer service sucks. We had 4 interactions with employees that were horrid customer service. "I don't know" or "we don't t have that" then being ignored. Train your employees to be helpful, I couldn't even get help finding a size in a shirt I liked. I asked an employee what XT meant in a shirt and she said "I have no clue" as she kept walking away. Either the morale sucks due to poor training or the management does not know how to manage the store. Get it together! Customer service starts at the top! read more

Every complaint in here re: The gun counter is true. The wait to even ask a question if ridiculous. There is never not an unbelievably long wait and if you see more than two customers at the counter good luck. Finally went to Cabelas to get my Glock 45 Caliber . company guy at front door , go up the staire , up against back wall , by the long guns . I saw the long guns along the wall when at top of stairs , Another Employee offerd to help , Glock 45 Caliber , over there by the wall and walked away . *****THIS WOULD BE ZERO STARS IF IT WERE AN OPTION***** I placed an online order for a pistol and bolt action rifle on April 24th. 5 days later- on April 29th- I got a surprising email that my order is "ready for pickup," and that all I need to do is bring the email and my ID for curbside pickup. This not being my first rodeo with purchasing firearms, I know that I need to complete background paperwork in person first before a transfer can be completed. So, the next day- April 30th- I called the store and was told that I needed to schedule an appointment to start the process, and that it would be a week and a half before someone would call me to schedule said appointment. Two weeks went by and I heard nothing. So, on May 13th (already 3 weeks after placing the order and 2 weeks after the items arrived to their warehouse) I called the store again, and- after getting put on a loop several times back and forth between the firearms extension and switchboard, was finally connected to Stephanie, who sounded completely surprised that I didn't already have an appointment scheduled by the first person that I spoke with back on April 29th, and told me that the first available appointment was May 25th- almost another 2 weeks of wait time after already waiting 2 weeks from the first store interaction and 3 weeks after placing the order; just over a month total at that point. Great experience so far. Finally, I make the trek down there (I live an hour from the store BTW) for my scheduled appointment- mind you already more than a month after placing the order and 3 weeks after the merchandise had already arrived at the store- and was told by the the men handling the firearms transactions that we would only be starting the pistol transfer process that day, and the rifle (the quick and easy one) we will be postponing until the pistol is cleared for release. I reluctantly complied and obliged, completing everything as they needed, and then they inform me me that it will be yet ANOTHER 3 weeks of fun and waiting. Again, I'd already been waiting over a month at that point. So, those additional 3 weeks have gone by and I've heard nothing (I guess after the runaround I've gotten so far why would I expect anything less?). I called the store to check on the status and- after getting put on the loop several times back and forth between the main phone operator and the firearms department, AGAIN- she asks to take a message. I politely gave her all of my information and explained my situation, and she told me someone would call me back. SURPRISE- no call back. Not once during this entire process has anyone made an effort to reach out to me- if even just to give me a status update. So here I am, 7 weeks later, still out almost $800 that they happily and quickly charged my credit card for back on April 24th, and still sitting empty handed with no product and no explanation. In my past experience, it has never taken longer than a week and half to clear background and complete transfer, AND... where I come from, when you take somebody's money without a transfer of value in the form of goods or services, it's typically considered theft, or a scam. Not sure if this warrants a BBB complaint to boot, but I can tell you that I will NEVER purchase another thing from Cabelas (at least not in Lacey) again. My advice- stay away from this store. Stick to the local ma and pa shops, Bass Pro or a different Cabela's location. *- at this point I am wondering if they will ever come through and actually make good on their end of the deal, and wonder how many more useless trips they are going to make me take to their shit show to get this resolved. My son and I always have a great experience here. It's kind of a mini adventure for us on 1-2 weekends a month. A couple of weeks ago my son fell in love with a large tent on display and was super bummed when we found out there weren't any left and they weren't getting more of this exact one. The associate upstairs(I really wish I could remember his name, but he knows who he is)offered us the display model and broke it down slowly with me so I could note the orientation of all parts and how they went together. He even went somewhere in the back and found the original box and all of the extras to make sure we were good to go. If you need optics go see Eli. I was in need of a new scope for my hunting rifle. We spoke with a guy at the gun counter and don't think he understood what I was looking for so he recommended we work with Eli. My husband called him to explain what I am looking for, my gun and style of hunting. I am primarily a blacktail deer hunter, so I could be in the brush up close or a crossed a canyon. I wanted low profile for bushwhacking hunts but able to take those long range shots. My complaint with my last scope was poor visibility in low light conditions. Aka the golden hour. With a .300 win mag not all scopes are created equal either. I am very traditional so a lot of the new cross hair styles and fancy extras aren't for me. I have been hunting for many years and can do the wind and range math in my head. Apparently that makes me a wizard. I was blown away when we got to the store, we were early and he was still on lunch break but he had a partner working the desk that knew we were coming so we chatted it up with that nice man till Eli got there. Eli had a notebook list of his recommendations with all the important to me comparisons information. He did so much research in preparation for us, completely blew away that level of customer service and appreciation still exists. He was patient with me going back and forth trying to commit. And I did. Swarovski Z5 3.5-18x44 Since it was so late we had to come back to have it mounted and he gave us his schedule so it could be him to mount it. He must have taken his time to bore sight it right because I didn't have too much adjusting on the range. I can't say enough how wonderful working with him was and how appreciative I am of his research to make sure I got the right scope. If you need optics at the Lacey Cabela's you have to meet Eli. Went in to pick up a holster for my new SIG Sauer P226, and my girlfriend's Remington R51. The guy "helping" us immediately went on a rant about all the bad things he has heard about the Remington, including how unreliable they were. Last I checked, the customer was always right, and if he had an issue with a companys product, he should keep it to himself. When I asked for a holster for my gun, his reply was "Those are high end; we don't carry a lot of stuff for those." Wait. Her gun is too cheap, and mine too high end. I see a rack full of SIG products; plenty of aftermarket products as well. So, I guess he didn't want to waste his time helping us. I can order what I need for my P226 Legion from an online retailer; I don't need to be dissed by a jerk with an attitude problem. I totally resent having my intelligence insulted. The person I spoke to in the firearms department said there were four rifles available with the SKU number I provided from their catalog. Drove over an hour to get there and was told it was not available for sale and that I would have to order the rifle online. Basically a white person's dream land. Anything you need for outdoorsy type things, you're going to find here. However, my fiance couldn't find ANYTHING in his size - maybe they were wiped out from the holidays, but damn, we couldn't find anything. Entertaining place for kids, too. I ordered the Bass Pro 2 burner high pressure stove camp stove online in August 2019. When I got the shipment in the mail, there was a rattling coming from inside the box. I opened the box and the lid to the stove only to discover the right burner had broken loose from its weld leaving its metal rings laying loose in stove's case. The cover was also dented in two areas. I shipped it back, then attempted to post a review of this product 5 times on Cabela's website. Each time my review was blocked by Cabela's for no good reason. Cabela's screens all their reviews, only wanting favorable reviews to increase their sales, leaving me to believe their product reviews are all inaccurate and have bogus average star ratings. I no longer trust Cabela's online sales and reviews. If you really want their product, if it's fragile I highly recommend you buy it at the store after you've carefully inspected it. Horrible customer service! This past Saturday I went in and I'm assuming another customer had brought a pet in and it had pooped right in the middle of the fishing pole aisle. I wasn't looking down and step right into it. In my defense, I am in a store and don't expect to be looking down watching where I step. Anyway, my partner told a worker there was poop in the aisle and I had clearly stepped in it and all he said was "thanks" and walked to a different aisle didn't bother to clean it up right away or offered to help me with some paper towels or anything. So we went to look for a different worker for help. Meanwhile I'm trying to hop so I don't get shit all over the store and gagging because it's so gross. The next worker said the bathroom is all the way at the front of the store and she will tell maintenance but still went on to fold the clothes she was working on. Like what??? I'm using flat sandals and have shit on my foot and these workers are useless and telling me to walk to the front of the store. So I stopped caring and walked normally (instead of hopping) leaving a trail of shit everywhere. The fishing poles were all the way on the opposite side of the store and Cabelas is huge! We get to the front and they have hand sanitizer wipes and I finally get to wipe my foot. We tell the older lady working the desk for the memberships and still she does nothing. The only worker that actually did something was the guy passing out flyers at the door. AT LEAST block off the aisle or cone it off if you don't want to clean it yourself. Really what if another customer had stepped in it, slipped in it, or got a disease from it! I tried to go to the bathroom to wash off my slipper but it was some mushy wet poop and I was not about to try to scrub my sandal. I ended up having to throw it away there and left barefoot back to my car. I was so upset that I had to get rid of my new sandals I got and was using for the first time. It was the first day it got nice, warm and sunny so I finally got to use it. Tried to get some fishing gear for the day but ended up having to go home barefoot and upset by the whole experience! read more

This chain for hunters and outdoorsmen has everything they would want/need, including a cafe where game is served and they can admire taxidermy. My brother and SIL wanted me to go with them to Cabela's. My nephew was happy to see the stuffed animals, and they were excited to get some nuts from the snack bar they like. This isn't my kind of store since I don't hunt. I do like the outdoors, but prices are steep here. I can find better prices elsewhere for my needs. Also, we wandered around the entire store and saw plenty of employees but none of them checked on us. They have a huge parking lot available. read more

In my previous life, I camped, shot, fished, and pretty much did all things outdoorsy. Fast forward to my life in Seattle and you won't find me doing any of those things but I can still find a thing or two at this store. What I love about Cabela's is that there is something for everyone whether you are an expert or novice at what you do. Walking into the store is amazing - you are not only overwhelmed with the sheer scope it all, but also faced with a mountain, complete with fake wildlife like bears, goats, beavers, etc. Walking through the mountain on the bottom, you'll find aquariums on both sides filled with fish. Very cool! My family was visiting from Hawaii. They are very much into hunting, fishing, drying meat, camping, and all that stuff I mentioned before. That weekend, I had been pricing camping furniture, particularly a foldable table. I wasn't happy with the quality I found elsewhere and definitely wasn't happy with the price. Cabela's offered their brand of table that was easy to use, sturdy, and just what I was looking for. It was also $20! The best price I had found so far. I was also shopping for a rain coat and it was the perfect place to try a number of them on. On one side of the mountain, you'll find a shooting game (I can't remember the name but it was Big Game Hunter or something like it). It was nice to take a break and shoot a few rounds at some fake wildlife. Knives? They got that. Beef jerky. Oh, yeah. ATV's? Of course! Tons, and tons of stuff! We spent well over an hour in the store, had a great time, and came out with some cool purchases. As some have said, I wouldn't say this is a cheap store. It's neat - all the animals are supposedly real other than the walrus, elephant and eagle...which is kinda creepy and cool at the same time. The customer service here is awesome.
