I went to Ski Barn mid season to find used skis for my 14 year old son. We walked into Dave & Paul…read moreworking the store. At first I was a little hesitant because I don't know much about skis and didn't want to be sold something we didn't need. The skis we brought in were purchased at a ski swap earlier this year; they were pretty tired and started to splinter at the tips. Dave & Paul explained the skis were good for someone at some point; not for my son at his skill level and usage. Dave helped us find a pair of new skis that would work best for my son for many season. Dave didn't pick the most expensive pair he explained why he chose the pair he did for my son. We got to talking; turns out Dave lives close to my house-he offered to drop the skis off once he put the binding on them. It turns out he put the bindings on right then and there; it was appreciated. I didn't feel 'had' or pressured to buy anything. I read the reviewer with the online purchase. I can understand why a local store like Ski Barn would be put off by online items; skis are an in person purchase but no one likes to feel bad when going into a store. To that I would state; these guys are confident and know what they are talking about. Maybe confidence was confused/felt like pressure or picking. To anyone going to Ski Barn I suggest- LISTENING. Everyone wants to know everything about everything but let the experts like Dave and Paul explain things to you. Seems like a place they want your return business not the one time sale. We will be back for all our equipment needs.

I purchased skis and bindings from Al's Ski Barn in December 2025. When I followed up with a few…read morequestions about the bindings, the response came quickly, which was great, but it felt unnecessarily snarky and condescending. That kind of tone really soured the experience. Additionally, I compared prices for my specific ski and binding model and found better deals at other reputable retailers like evo and Backcountry.com. If you're looking for the best value and more friendly support, I'd recommend shopping around before choosing this retailer.

To start off, I will say they have a very nice staff. With that being said, I went to get my…read morelacrosse head strung for $30 the other day and it did not come out good at all. I brought it in 1 week in advance and the day it was meant to be done they said they hadn't even started it. Once I picked it up, I immediately knew the quality wasn't great but I was in a rush so I paid the $30 just for the time they spent and because I was in a rush. I just went to Lacrosse Unlimited to ask to get it restrung and they called it "atrocious" and restrung it for me for free. In short, don't get lacrosse heads strung here, make the drive to lacrosse unlimited or a place reputable to get them strung.

I ordered a dress on Fashion Nova for my baby shower it came in last minute and I tried it on and…read moreit did not fit and needed so many different adjustments. I called Trippies and they had told me that typically for what I needed done I would have needed to call weeks in advance. I expressed my urgency and concern as my baby shower was only three days away. I was asked to come in same day so they can look at it, I tried the dress on and the nice lady said that she doesn't know if they'll be able to make it work with how much adjustment the dress needed. She called over her coworker, and forgive me for not Remembering their names. He looked at the dress 360 and he said he could make it work! I left my dress with them at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and they close at 5 PM. They had my dress altered by the following early afternoon. I came back in to try it on the next day and only minor adjustments needed to be made. They had my dress ready again the next day before my baby shower. They were so kind and helpful and did what they could to make it work and be just on time with such short notice. I will always come back here. They shortened the sleeves, hemmed the dress, fixed the latch on back or dress, made a stitch to bring up the V line , and tightened the shoulders . They even added extra fabric to the side of the dress because my baby bump would not allow the zipper to go all the way up! The dress looked beautiful and they really made it work.

If you're looking for attentive customer service at a well-stocked and fair priced non-big box…read morehardware store, this is the place! Uncommonly great service with extremely helpful and friendly staff are common here at this particular Aubuchon store, that's for sure. So why spend precious time trying to track down a 'specialist' at a big box orange or blue home goods store when you can get immediate attention, helpful advice, good value and service here for 99+% of all your home hardware needs? In particular, staff members like Joe, Matt, John and Susan are extremely responsive, friendly and go the distance when asked for help finding something...or even helping to make sure your product solution 'works' and is the 'right fit'. I was so moved the other day with this one case in point. I needed just a few small bolts, nuts and washers -- but for an urgent 'realtime' equipment fix at home (leaf machine). Not only did Matt help me find matching sized fastener equivalents, he along with Joe actually helped by manually trimming the unusually sized bolts on my machine to exact precise length. Such follow-thru and diligence! All that for just a handful of @ 30-cent per bolt parts!! Now where can you get THAT level of personalized customer service and remedial tailored response elsewhere?? Duty "above and beyond" the call of customer service for sure! So they "sold me" and I will always shop first here and get my hardware needs met. And hence this 'shout-out'. So you too should shop here and get great individualized service like I did along with a full range of inventory/goods fairly priced! Thank you Aubuchon! Glad you're there.
