We agreed on a trade based on that information. I then drove about two hours to the shop. When I arrived, they placed the fish in their tank and then told me they were "too big" for their system. This was confusing because I had already been very clear about their size during our phone conversation. After driving such a long distance, it was frustrating to have them change their position. The fish were slightly stressed from transport, which is normal after a two-hour drive, but they were healthy. I was told they "weren't happy with the way they looked," and no trade was offered at all. Not even a partial trade. Overall, it felt like a waste of time and gas, especially after we had already discussed and agreed on the details beforehand. I just wish they had honored their word or at least tried to work something out. Very disappointing experience.

It's a local family owned place that is really into the hobby, not just profit margins. I had a Rafael Catfish that died after 31 years. Regular big retailers would have laughed, but Cindy actually cared ordered two new ones just for me, They're in my tank now, doing fine. In addition to maybe a hundred tanks of fish, they have every medicine, filter, and gizmo you could imagine, on shelves on the walls from floor to ceiling. They're also very nice people. These items were priced by weight and the employees had to weigh them and calculate the price up front at the register. I spent about $20 on everything I got. Several of them looked poorly cared for, and the overall atmosphere gave the impression that basic attention and upkeep are not a priority here. For a place that sells live animals, that is unacceptable. This location feels disorganized, understaffed, and poorly managed. If no one can even respond when a manager is called repeatedly, that says everything customers need to know.
