The shrimp appetizer was so good, the steaks cooked perfectly and tasted as good as Ruth Chris and I can't forget the Mac n cheese best I've had, then Vanessa suggested the bourbon cake that was a perfect finish to our dinner. I typically don't leave midrange reviews and I hate to do this on this one because I truly believe Restaurant Eugene (Chef Linton Hopkins other Restaurant) is by far the number one restaurant in Atlanta. The decor was beautiful in this place and five stars all the way! We had a reservation on Valentines night for 8:45pm and stood at the front door until 9pm waiting on the staff to get out table prepared which was right next to where we were standing. I peeped over at the table and it was ready but no one seemed to focused on getting us to our seats. I had to ask one of the staff members if we could be seated and he said that they finally could. When I'm going to a restaurant of this caliber and paying top dollar to eat I expect everything to be done in a timely fashion and for no steps of service to be missed. My water glass was just about empire on serval occasions as staff members walked by without an urgency to refill. We also had a bottle of expensive wine that once it was poured wasn't refilled once by our server. The bottle and decater was placed on the empty table next to ours and I had to slide over in my seat to to grab the decanter to refill my fiancé's wine and also mine. We also saw pretty much every table in the restaurant with some bread and butter but we didn't have any before or after our appetizers so I finally had to ask for it from 3 different staff members 3 different times before it finally made it to our table slightly before entrees came out. The food here was really good but I personally wasn't too impressed with the Cowboy Steak I had. However, my fiancé had a filet and it was super great! The side of mac and cheese was super basic and looked and tasted like something that was created from picking up same normal pasta at Publix. Oh yeah, one other thing we were sold on was the Foie Gras Terrine by our server and then she had to come back and tell us they were sold out for the evening. I mean, it's Valentines Day so how can you not be overly prepared for your guests on a special night like this? All in all it wasn't a terrible experience but it defiantly wasn't looking like a Linton Hopkins Restaurant on this night. Maybe it's because we were a late reservation but I think it needs to be under control of Mr. Hopkins direct supervision for quite awhile longer until the staff here gets on the same page. This place has great potiential but the slack in service needs to be addressed ASAP before more -3 star reviews happen. At a place like this, I would expect nothing less than perfection. And I got it. The bread was freshly baked. Plating was immaculate. The steak tartare ws an excellent rendition of a classic. The bone marrow was a nice accompaniment. The beef rib appetizer was as good as any traditional smokehouse. The steaks were as you would expect AMAZING. I had the delmonico ribeye, flank steak, and pork porterhouse. The standout by far was the flank steak. "Jennay" our server practically gushed over this cut and I'm glad I ordered it. The steaks were well charred, cooked exactly as ordered, and beautifully sliced. But the best thing of all were the sides. At a traditional steakhouse you've got 15 kinds of potato options and then maybe 1-2 vegetables that are just sauteed in garlic. But the sides here were a beautiful display of what is seasonally available at a farmer's market. Tons of vegetables treated with respect. Honestly I'm more excited to try more sides than I am to try more steak. Finished off with two desserts. Hard to say much about them because I can barely remember them. Not to say that they were forgettable desserts (because they were executed well) but I was in such a deep state of the "meat sweats" that it was hard to breathe. read more

We were checking out the new spots at the battery and decided to head here for an oyster (or 12) and a drink. Decided we were hungry and opted for a steak, creamed corn and spinach (so basic, right?!) Atmosphere right inside is cool, modern lounge with open seating. Outside is a view of the playing field and splash area where kids run wild so def don't sit outside for romance. The place to be is the main dining area which is designed with beautiful colors and art, nice lighting and seating. That's reservation only per the hostess so def plan to go back for that experience. Outstanding upscale steak house nestled in the Battery Park. The service was outstanding. James made several fantastic recommendations - most of which we ordered. We started with the bacon and slaw appetizer along with the sea scallops and grits. Both were fantastic! For our main course, my friend had the dry-aged strip steak and I had the ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection! For sides, we had Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese. Everything was amazing. We had a great time! It's their soft opening and this place was highly recommended by a friend. Ambience - beautiful decor, I loved the baseball glove leather they've used on the chairs. wish the lights were not so bright and also not a big fan of the metal tables, as they resemble the tables at Chipotle. Food - possibly the best steak I've had in a while, perfect temperature and seasoning. Mac & Cheese was amazing and the chef was really cool to make me some fresh hot sauce! I am a regular GA visitor and have dined all over the Atlanta / Smyrna area. Based on my experience last Wednesday evening I can say without a doubt I will not return. I should mention - My meal was free. I was a guest of someone who invited me to dinner. I am glad I didn't have to pay for the food or service we had. We ordered a lot! Bottle of wine - fantastic and priced fair. Bacon app - good - not great or worth the price $18? Hush puppies - great! Salad - arrived with my entire meal. Not great tasting. Mushrooms - dry - we didn't eat them. Scalloped potatoes - just ok. Baked potato - so burnt and dry I don't think they sell many and it was a day or two old. Two filets - the flavor was good but both were overcooked. Service was awful. The girl spoke so softly it was hard to hear her, we had a bottle of wine that was poured into a dirty decanter, no one ever refilled our wine glasses or even offered to... We were left to pour our own wine. actually I do recall that at one point towards the end of our meal the server did offer... but only after we had refilled the other times. Overall, I was disappointed and I won't return. Want steak and a formal dining experience. Go somewhere else. read more

The food in this location was delicious! Fir appetizers we were served macaroons with cheese and an order bread. This was a great sgart for what was coming. For dinner, my husband and I ate the cowboy rib eye with mac and cheese. It was seasoned to perfection and the mac and cheese was buttery cheesy and creamy . Customer service was outstanding. Emily was always looking after our drinks, plates, and whatever we needed. Our waiter Dillan was such a gentleman. He was very knowledgeable of the menu items. He gave us free champagne for our anniversary. If you have him as a waiter you will be very pleased. The only reason I give this location a 4 star is because there were 2 steaks that we wanted, but they didn't have. It was a little before 7 when we got there, so not sure why they ran out so quickly. Very attentive service both at the bar and in the dining room. We were a party of 14 for dinner last night and a bit rowdy as the wine was flowing but they managed us well! We started with the seafood tower which was great but the lobster came out chopped which was odd and not our favorite. We ordered much of the higher end steaks at mostly medium rare to medium. I would say maybe their steak cooking style is Pittsburgh (charred outside and rare/medium rare inside) which is what I happen to love. Some notable sides included mashed potatoes and mac & cheese (to die for). Some of the other sides never made it down to my side of the table - so sad! Dessert was great. Awesome cocktail menu. I love their oysters. The ribeye was the best I've had in a while and really didn't need the sauces. Potato skins were great as well. Super great happy hour with lots of variety! There is something for everyone on their happy hour menu, from food to drinks. I decided on the manhattans which were deliciously made by the bartender Melody, and enjoyed the pimento cheese and crackers, which is probably one of the best I've ever had! Well I remember the most was that they serve their miller highlife in coupe because it is the "champagne of beers" so funny ! As always, C. Ellet's never disappoints. Our awesome server Payvan was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a seafood tower, but unfortunately, I didn't get a picture because it looked so amazing we ate it all before I had a chance. It was perfect for sharing with our table though and all of the seafood was tasty and super fresh! My boyfriend and I shared a porterhouse for 2 with whipped potatoes and Mushrooms. It's the perfect amount of steak for 2 people, but my boyfriend is also a human garbage disposal so with also had some lamb chop and fried shrimp and pimento cheese as appetizers. Everything was cooked perfectly and the breading on the shrimp is out of this world! My best friend had the grouper and let me tell you, if I weren't so happy with our meal, I would have been jealous! After having a bite of it, I have decided I'll probably swing by and have it next week. The drinks were all on point and carefully crafted. Beautiful presentation on everything. I took the wife on a date night since she was craving steak and lobster. We chose C. Ellet's since we heard good things about it. We were kindly greeted at the door and taken to our table where our server Jesse was kind, and prompt with serving us. We started with the cornmeal fried shrimp which provide a clean taste with some kick from the remoulade sauce. We each had a salad that was nicely dressed and not dry. The star of the show was the steak for 2. It was sliced off the bone and cooked to perfection with a nice crust on the outside. I also loved the fact that we almost forgot to add the lobster to our steak and as I got up from the table another server asked if she could help me even though she was not tending to us. That is alway bonus point for a restaurant in my book. We had loaded whipped potatoes and broccolini which was a little spicy for my wife's taste which left more for me, yum. We had no room for dessert although the chocolate cake sounded delightful. We will return! read more

So... Disappointing.. My wife and I were going to see Bill Burr at Cobb Energy Center and we wanted to get a good steak close by.. I did a bit of research, found out this place is ran by same family that does H&F Burgers and Restaurant Eugene, and I felt this was a no brainer... We ordered the salads to start, and they were great. Our drinks were also wonderful. I had and Old Fashioned, and my wife had gin cocktail. Very nice.. For our main course, we both ordered the 6oz Filet, which at 55 or so bucks, was pretty pricey. We ordered broccolini and Fingerling potatoes for sides. At first, everything went great, besides an Awkward exchange between our original server, and "Paveon", who basically stole our table from the original. When we arrived, we were asked if we wanted inside or outside seating, we chose outside because it was a beautiful night. Shortly after we were sat, a nice young lady greeted us and told us she'd be right back to help us. Great first impression. But then, a few minutes later, another young man greeted our table and asked us what we'd like to drink... Thinking nothing of it, we started to order our drinks when the first young lady walked up and was like. 'Umm... I had them.. ".. What followed was an awkward exchange and stare down between two servers who were basically fighting over our table.. Ultimately "Paveon" won by not backing down.. and so he served us, but it was weird.. Then we get our steaks.. We'd both ordered Medium. What we got, was very close to well done. At first, we intended to send them back, but Paveon disappeared for almost 15 minutes.. It also took about 24 minutes from the time we ordered to when the steaks showed up.... Way too long.. So.. Because Paveon never checked back in with us - until 15 minutes after we got our food delivered.. We had no time to complain and send them back, so we ate the rubbery, flavorless nearly well done steaks.. At over 50 dollars per steak, we were greatly disappointed.. That's just too much to pay for an improperly prepared steak. Sadly, we won't be going back. read more
