I have to say the prices are reasonable and the service by the waitress was great, however the food preparation time was horrible. We almost drank a pot of coffee while we waited and there were several others who came in after we did who ate and left before our food came. Not sure what took so long, but definitely not acceptable.

A menu should make your mouth water. This menu made a couple leave after taking one look at it. My husband ordered a salad and it was the saddest, most basic thing I have ever seen. It was iceberg lettuce, a few other things, and a chicken tender cut up into the tiniest pieces. I had a burger w/ PB & J and I don't think they could have put less PB & J on it. The burger did not seem to be great quality and was grey in color. Onion rings were a star here! The sweet tea was also very good. Our server was overwhelmed and did the best she could. I think she was the only server working a handful of tables. She was friendly, but felt scattered. The restaurant had several dirty tables and tables that were dirty underneath. Likely the result of a young diner, but it gave an overall appearance of being unclean. Decor was stark. I hope our experience was just a bad night.

It was just okay. The crust was a bit overdone, as if it was toasted. The extra pickles were appreciated. The cherry coke and root beer were great. I rarely drink soda so it was a treat. Hubby had the cod, shrimp platter. It was mediocre. The tiny serving of Cole slaw made him sick. Our friendly server was not locked in on our needs. We weren't in a rush but, it took time to get things.

There aren't a lot of restaurants to choose from in the area, and I really want to love this place…read morebecause it has so much going for it. It's a cute little firefighter-themed restaurant with decent food at a reasonable price. We usually try to stop at a local restaurant after church, and this place always seems to be busy. This morning, our service ended a little earlier than usual, so we decided to give it another try. The restaurant was only about half full when we arrived, but it still took quite a while for someone to greet us and get our drink orders. The food itself was decent, and I really think this place has potential. My honest opinion is that they may need some extra kitchen staff to help keep up with the orders, especially when they get busy. The wait can take away from what could otherwise be a really enjoyable dining experience. I definitely don't want to discourage anyone from trying it because, like I said, I really want to love this place! I just wouldn't recommend going in if you're in a hurry or expecting a quick meal. Hopefully, with a little more help in the kitchen, the service will catch up with the demand because this little restaurant has a lot of potential!

I think it was because they enjoyed working there. Or, at least it give them a chance to eat some really tasty food. I had their Cubano Tartine. That's kind of like an omelet with the ingredients of a Cubano sandwich, except for the roll, mixed in. (And yes, I get that the cooking process is a bit different.) ' Anyway, this Cubano Tartine shows up on a plate in front of me. I dig in and keep digging. The ingredients, ham, cheese, pickles, etc, were plentiful and delicious. They were sitting on an ample slice of their sourdough bread. That was the first issue. It was IMPOSSIBLE to cut. I guess I could have asked for a steak knife or maybe a power tool. But, there was so much other stuff that I was able to have a very filling meal without it. The other issue was that the lightly dressed side salad was doused in dressing. Again, didn't complain because, for me, it wasn't a problem during this visit. Issues aside, if I come back to Hagerstown, I'll look for an excuse to come back.
