    Cozy and welcoming French bistro. Came in and got to try a bunch of classics. The food was very very good! This place came recommended from some of our Parisian friends so I walked in knowing it should be quite good. Loved the prix fix lunch menu where you could get an entree and main plate for around 20€. Love! The little raviolis to start were tasty. Such good escargot and the duck and beef burgundy were splendid. And we closed with a perfect lemon tart. We weren't rushed out once the kitchen closed and could sit and enjoy our bottle of wine while we caught up. It was very nice! Highly recommend!

    Walked in on a whim to try frog legs for the first time! The meat itself was kind of bland, so I was mostly tasting the buttery garlic and parsley sauce. Homey atmosphere along a picturesque cobblestone alley, gorgeous pastries displayed through the window, a rustic cake on the counter, and the wines of the month written in chalk. My roasted lamb shoulder was tender and a lot more filling than I expected, and the buttery, chunky mashed potato topped with sprinkles of sea salt was TO DIE FOR. My bf had calamari as a starter and juicy duck breast with fig sauce as his main dish. The Menu Dégustation (tasting menu) of 18 EUR and a carafe of Côtes de Provence rosé wine left us stuffed, happy, and satisfied. This place was a great find with yummy French food in a cute location.

    After a whole day of museum visits (3 in total), we decided to walk back to our hotel from the Louvre instead of taking the metro. We ended up taking a detour - or getting lost according to others - and found a few quaint little streets that seem like they haven't changed since the 1800's. Of course, just on the other side of rue St-Andre des Arts was Saint Germaine (though we didn't know at the time)! Oh what a gem we stumbled upon! After looking at the menus of a few places close by, we found Cepe & Figue. I was, of course, persuaded by their multiple dishes of duck - their menu is in english also. The waiter there noticed our bad french and spoke decent english for us. My other half ended up ordering the Filet mignon de porc sauce aux cepes (15 euros) with a glass of red wine recommended by the waiter and I ordered off their menu degustation (18 euros for an entree + plat). I ended up the Escargot de Bourgagne for my entree, and Magret de canard sauce gastrique a la figue (which translates to gastric sauce with figs). The escargot was deliciously drenched in oils and parsley (burgundy style)! They were a little smaller than snails I've had at other places, but I like a more even snail to seasoning ratio anyways. The duck was tender and juicy, not seasoned much, since there's the fig sauce to dip it in. The sauce was very light and fresh, rather than rich, which suits my tastes. I was able to dunk each piece of duck into the sauce and it didn't overpower the flavor of the duck. The dish was served with a very simple and small salad, and a side of herb roasted potatoes that were the best potatoes my wife's had in Paris so far. Haha! She claims they are because they were actually seasoned, and had a nice, slight crunchy skin to go along with the soft texture of the meat of the potatoe. I nod my head in agreement. The Filet mignon de porc was served in a mushroom sauce, and it melts in your mouth. I stole a taste of course! The dish was served with the same side salad and potatoes. The wine the waiter recommended went great with the dish. Tip: just ask the waiters to recommend a wine to go with the food because 9/10 times they hit the nail on the head! Overall, this was one of the best meals we've had in Paris (not necessarily the best food, but best overall experience). I think because of a few main reasons. The staff was friendly, spoke decent english, and the food felt like a home cooked meal. It didn't hurt either that the prices were some of the most reasonable we've come across. The total bill ended up being around 37 euros as compared to 80 euros and above!     My husband and I enjoyed the food. Nothing spectacular, but we were fed good food. I ordered from the "menu" (appetizer and main) for €19. I got escargot and pork with apples and potatoes.

    I can't stress enough how much I loved this place!Myself and a group of friends were looking for a place to dine in the area and while checking the price list outside the restaurant, we got chatting to the owner of the place. He was so friendly, nice and funny (also clearly really good at his job) that we couldn't help but go in. I am so glad we did. As soon as we sat down the owner brought us a free glass of wine each which I thought was really lovely. The place was quite busy but not overcrowded, mostly locals (good sign) and regular customers (even better sign). Everything on the menu looked yummy. We all went for the 2 courses meal for 19€ which I thought it was very good value. I ordered the Foie Gras as starter ( REALLY good) and the duck breast fillet with raspberry sauce. This was hands down the best meal I had in Paris. The duck was cooked to perfection (I was suggested by the waiter to have it medium cooked) and it was absolutely delicious. It was a decent size but I just didn't want it to end! Despite being pretty full after the meal I also went for dessert, chocolate and pear tart, and that didn't disappoint either..so good! When it came to the bill, the total including drinks was 28€, excellent considering the quality of food. I would definitely recommend this place. The service was some of the best I've experienced, with the owner cracking jokes the whole time and making sure we were being looked after, and the food was really really good. I can see why many people there seemed to be regulars, if I lived in Paris that is one place I would keep going to for sure!

    Affordable and quaint and off the beaten path which was a nice change of scenery. On a side street you get the joy of people watching without the hectic traffic. Good was delish and the waiters were very nice despite our poor French. The lunch menu is well priced (12€ for appetizer and entree) and dinner was just as fair (19€ for 2 courses). I had mushroom ravioli with white chive sauce and my mother had the French onion soup. Cheesecake and cream Brûlée followed. One of our best meals this far-- definitely the best priced.

    Service was wonderful the host invited us to try and they had a prix fix menu for 19 euros. The onion soup was good salmon Delilah and the fois Gris superb on toasted bread and sweet fig jam. Glass of champagne yummy had to have 2. Good service and value in a wonderful alley in st Germaine area would recommend

    Favorite restaurant in Paris. All of their duck dishes are incredible! The crumble fruits rouges is a must for dessert!!

However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

I enjoyed the mini mushroom raviolis and delicious Grand Marnier soufflé. The plat was somewhat odd because the chorizo chunks were really strong flavored which overpowered the scallops. I ate one chorizo chunk and pushed the rest aside. The scallops were cooked perfectly but not seasoned. The service was gruff/quite brief with dishes dropped by assistants. My biggest complaint was the stressful ambiance during the meal. It was freezing outside. The door constantly opened and new patrons came in hovering over diners in my room. Luckily I was not closer to the door and didn't have anyone over me. For ~170 Euros, the food was good but the experience was not.

The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad.
